From desperation comes inspiration. If, as Sir Alex intimated, Roberto Mancini’s decision to allow Carlos Tevez back into the fold at Man City really was a last-ditch attempt to revive fortunes, there’s little doubt that it’s had the desired affect. Ferguson will be fidgeting uncomfortably having watched Tevez almost single handedly turn City back into a goal machine in the last two matches, knowing that they’re on a collision course on April 30.

For Fantasy managers, today’s hat-trick, capped with a cheeky assist for the revived Sergio Aguero, offered a stark reminder of the scoring power that Tevez brings. He started the season as a 12.0 player in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, having fired 21 goals and six assists last term – Tevez was and still is a Fantasy heavy-hitter.

Norwich felt the full force this afternoon as the Argentine inspired City, having re-ignited Mancini’s side in midweek in the 4-0 win over West Brom. Suddenly, having recently struggled for a cutting edge, particularly away from home, City are a free flowing attacking force once again. Aguero’s brace of goals today were his first league strikes away from the Etihad since that win at Old Trafford. With four in two matches, he’s now firmly back on the radar and could upset what looked like an established front three template of Van Persie/Rooney/Cisse for the remaining Gameweeks.

Arguably Tevez makes a bigger claim for our attention. We took a punt on him over Aguero in the Scout Picks having seen his statistics and form in his recent cameos and knowing his quality home and away. Tevez has come back and, once again, looked like scoring and setting up goals: today that came to fruition.

The Fantasy prospects of both Tevez and Aguero now, ironically, rest with United and the title race. A slip against Villa tomorrow looks unlikely but with City flexing their muscles in such intimidating style, the pressure on United has increased. Realistically, City will go to a beleaguered Wolves next weekend hoping that a stubborn Everton side can recover from today’s FA Cup disappointment and provide an awkward obstacle at Old Trafford. Then it’s all down to the clash at the Etihad that follows.

City need to stay in touch for Fantasy managers to invest with confidence – to sacrifice a double Gameweek transfer for either Tevez or Aguero for the Gameweek 36 trip to Molineux would be a brave move – a break from the best laid plans. However, as today demonstrated, Aguero’s form has moved up a gear and the talent of Tevez looks to have been the catalyst. Together they could yet play a major part in our Fantasy seasons and a title race which appears to be far from over.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Would have done it if Everton were still in the FA Cup as he wouldn't have been rotated so may have been the main man. Now I think Baines or Jelavic are better options

depends on who you're selling. he's on form tho, could work, but there's plenty of single gameweekers who you probably have with a decent fixture?

Your sky installer probably tuned it in, in which case it may be found in 'other channels' in the menu.

If not, it is easy to tune in. Just do a search for the frequency settings on google.

Where d people stand on the Rooney > Aguero/Tevez transfer? It means either one less GW36 player, or taking an extra hit but can you really go without attacking City coverage next week!

    ok double post

Firstly - Decided to proceed with a 4 point hit this week unless Rooney can do something to change my mind. I need to focus on my ML first and rank 2nd. Barring any major mishaps i will smash through my highest ever ranking, and i need around 40 points a week to beat my highest ever ranking. Hits are not always bad, I think a 4 point hit to get a City attacker in V Wolves is a must.

    2nd

    Who will win

Me - 23 and Siggy BPs + De Gea, Verm and Walcott

Him 25 and Yaya BPs + Valencia and Arteta

I wish i could say we were unlucky but apart from the first 10-15 mins when it was pretty even we were out played. I just don't think we have the experience and leadership in the team now. Last season our back four at times was Salgado-Samba-Nelsen-Givet. Now it's just kids. All the old heads have been sold on or frozen out because they were/are earning too much. Sad times for Rovers fans...

Rooney.... well i'll be keeping until GW36 and then who knows. Have to wait for cup and Champs League semis to be done with and then see where we stand. Baines is almost certainly coming in for the double now Everton are out.

Yeah latest tweets aren't promising either, Hoilett hamstring, Yakubu doubtful.

Baines, Cisse, Dempsey are certs for me, Bale is probable. No idea who else, like you said depends on the FA Cup and CL results. Makes me think i should just forget about it and get a City attacker for Wolves.

Reason I'm asking is because I want to bring in Tevez (and keep till the end) but will probably drop Cisse to bring him in which would mean downgrading Valencia to free up some funds.

      Front 3 would be:

    Siggy Bale Valencia Walcott

    Subs: Vorm Caulker McClean Cahill
    0.7 in the bank

Just leave McClean in. Petrov and Bolton don't have good form ahead of their fixtures plus you are struggling to fit him in if you buy him so there isn't much point.

Not sure about Cahill right now but I say leave your team as it is for GW35 and have 2 FT for the DGW giving you more flexibilty.

      c) save a transfer, your team looks fine for the next week!

I am contemplating ahead(I know not good!) about taking an 4 pointer and getting rid of rooney and valencia for the team below, depending on the fa cup in regards to Everton + Baines:

      7 DGW Players

What do you think of this GW 36 Team, worth the 4 pointer?

      GW36:

      Bogdan

      Adebayor Aguero RVP

      Subs: Vorm Caulker McClean Cahill

Only 1.0% of all the players own Tevez. If this Rooney>Tevez (C) knee jerk works out, it could ride us up into the waves of the higher echelons!!

The 1.0% will become 10% by the end of the week!

Na, most people are afraid of Knee Jerking towards the end of the season. 😉

      I'm doing the Tevez move.

Can't you keep Sess and ship out anyone else for Demps?

my mid is Sess, McClean, Siggy, Bale, Walcott.

Want to keep Bale for qpr and DGW, want Theo for Chelsea and after DGW (will cost to get him back)

Sess is the only 1 I can afford. I do still have McClean

Moyes will be raging after today so he will probably demand big performances in the weeks to come.

Thanks City. As if the DGW wasn't head melting enough.

Bearing in mind the DGW circumstances, bearing in mind Wolves have conceded 2 open play goals over the last 180 mins (10 men for 80 mins v Arsenal), bearing in mind it was tight at Carrow Road until the last 15-20 mins...

    ...going Aguevezless may be survivable.

Oh, and bearing in mind how dangerous McClean just looked, I'd be nervous benching, let alone selling for a hit.

You make extremely valid points Sir, but City looked immensely threatening going forward on every attack almost. Very fluid.

And I myself are just going for a one week punt on Tevez ;).

You could look at it both ways I guess. Wolves didn't capitulate with 10 men but I think that was more to do with Arsenal knowing the game was over and they just knocked the ball about like a training match. City can be pretty relentless when they are in form and seem to keep looking for goals no matter the score.

I think I will be getting Tevez or Aguero for the Wolves game. They are a pub team atm.
