From desperation comes inspiration. If, as Sir Alex intimated, Roberto Mancini’s decision to allow Carlos Tevez back into the fold at Man City really was a last-ditch attempt to revive fortunes, there’s little doubt that it’s had the desired affect. Ferguson will be fidgeting uncomfortably having watched Tevez almost single handedly turn City back into a goal machine in the last two matches, knowing that they’re on a collision course on April 30.

For Fantasy managers, today’s hat-trick, capped with a cheeky assist for the revived Sergio Aguero, offered a stark reminder of the scoring power that Tevez brings. He started the season as a 12.0 player in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, having fired 21 goals and six assists last term – Tevez was and still is a Fantasy heavy-hitter.

Norwich felt the full force this afternoon as the Argentine inspired City, having re-ignited Mancini’s side in midweek in the 4-0 win over West Brom. Suddenly, having recently struggled for a cutting edge, particularly away from home, City are a free flowing attacking force once again. Aguero’s brace of goals today were his first league strikes away from the Etihad since that win at Old Trafford. With four in two matches, he’s now firmly back on the radar and could upset what looked like an established front three template of Van Persie/Rooney/Cisse for the remaining Gameweeks.

Arguably Tevez makes a bigger claim for our attention. We took a punt on him over Aguero in the Scout Picks having seen his statistics and form in his recent cameos and knowing his quality home and away. Tevez has come back and, once again, looked like scoring and setting up goals: today that came to fruition.

The Fantasy prospects of both Tevez and Aguero now, ironically, rest with United and the title race. A slip against Villa tomorrow looks unlikely but with City flexing their muscles in such intimidating style, the pressure on United has increased. Realistically, City will go to a beleaguered Wolves next weekend hoping that a stubborn Everton side can recover from today’s FA Cup disappointment and provide an awkward obstacle at Old Trafford. Then it’s all down to the clash at the Etihad that follows.

City need to stay in touch for Fantasy managers to invest with confidence – to sacrifice a double Gameweek transfer for either Tevez or Aguero for the Gameweek 36 trip to Molineux would be a brave move – a break from the best laid plans. However, as today demonstrated, Aguero’s form has moved up a gear and the talent of Tevez looks to have been the catalyst. Together they could yet play a major part in our Fantasy seasons and a title race which appears to be far from over.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

        Not sure actually.
Say you put either of them as a one week punt. And switch them for a DGW striker later.
So you would want them to score Roo + 8 points. And while you're at it, might as well stick the armband. Might work out, might not.

They've been my favorite team since I was a wee lad...so I am biased. But this is indeed the best I've ever seen them play, EVER. Interestingly enough, many people had the same comments to make about Madrid's Galacticos when they were running rampant...they're just good mate, I'll enjoy their football while I can. And, more on the bright side, this makes the spanish league a bit more interesting, Madrid and Barca will play their hearts out til the very end...and I'm not saying the league isn't exciting, any league whose fourth and fifth place knocks out other euro 'heavyhitters' such as United is worth being excited about 😀

The question is though, is there any worth having?

      Think of it like this.

You could instead bring in a player who has a DGW in 36.
Players with a DGW in 36 have an equal amount of games as Villa over the two rounds of 35-36.
In my mind, unless you have a wildcard for 36, this all but rules out Villa players.

Bolton have 1 extra game on all the other DGWers, but 3 of their 4 are away. In fact, their only home game is Swansea, a defensively resolute side who seem to be finding some form again. Add to this their 3 away games are all tricky fixtures, I can't justify it. Their wingers and strikers are subject to rotation and I don't think they will keep a cleansheet.

      Executive Summary
Unless you already own one, or have a WC for GW36, I would steer clear.

So, some food for thought this weekend and it's not over yet. What happens if Ade scores a hattrick* and Bale gets three assists? Are all those people who did Rooney > Tevez this morning going to do RVP > Ade tomorrow?

*Purely hypothetical. He's going to do feck all again and leave everyone still undecided whether to buy him for the dgw or not.

So, I had all my transfer plans set out for next 2 gw taking me to 8 dgw players with a hit.

    Plan this week was....

Out: Yak & Walcott ( or valencia )
    In: Cisee & dempsey

    Question.

Do I sacrifice my cisse of yak, join the knee jerkers club and switch my forward trade to aguero from Rooney. Means I Lose Cisse v stoke gw35 and give me one less player dgw player for dgw36...

    Thoughts?

True, I also think that if the title is one on gw35/36 you will see very little of tevez after that point.

Let's be clear Mancini still hates him, and has only bought him back as...

              A. Point of desperation
              B. has no other cars to play
              C. In the hope not have the sack

I think your original trades are still the better option giving you 3 games VS 2 (2/3 fix are tasty for Cisse).

Aguero could have a field day vs Wolves but there is a greater potential that Cisse could score better VS Stoke and Wigan combined imo, Chelsea is a bonus fixture.

Possibly. Would mean dumping Rooney for Aguero/Tevez so i will mull it over after todays game.

What might swing for me is that it covers my main ML rival who got Aguero this GW and it provides an obvious captaincy choice for GW35 other than Cisse.

It does take me away from my original plan and might force me into spending 4 points at some point soon.

Today could well be Rooney's last game for me.

        Thanks Jafa.. Long time..

Yes ill wait for tonights game before any potential rooney move.. but even though at home, its Everton.. doubt they will concede more than 1.. they are in great form.. and most importantly rooneys dwindling form..

But I think cisse is a must have for DGW and I want to avoid any price rises.. plus theres a good chance of him getting something against stoke at home.. plus frees up money for my other DGW moves..

BTW what do you think of Ade + Bale as attacking cover for spurs DGW ??

          Agreed on Cisse.

Ade let me down big time last dgw. I don't trust him - simple as.

I feel BAE and Bale are going to be needed-or at least one.

    Good Morning!

Sleeping thru a night and the willing to knee jerk are much lessen.. More calm.. Feel only Aguero in team might be enough and the idea of doubling City strikers could be backfire.

Set my priority back on getting Dempsey and keep the need for Tevez in the cage .. for now.

    Valencia - Siggy - Sessegnon - Walcott - Bale

Form wise, Sessegnon seems candidate but it needs 2 transfers. Any good plan?

    A: Sessegnon + Valencia >> Dempsey + Ben Arfa
    B: Sessegnon + Vermaelen >> Dempsey + 5.0m DF (Wheater? Hibbert?)
C: Anyway, I can simply do Walcott >> Dempsey

Ha! I have exactly the same midfield and exactly the same question - who to sell for Captain Clint?

      Valencia – Siggy – Sessegnon – Walcott --- Bale

I'm tending towards Sess at the moment. I just don't seem to have any luck with him. When he's in my team he does nothing and the moment I sell him he goes crazy.

I'm top of most of my leagues that I care about and don't think it's worth having DGW players in Bol or AV so may use my two FT next week to get in Spurs players then rearrange team for final games with WC...? Is this madness? Is my reluctance bourne out of my possessiveness of my wild card?

    Morning guys!

I have to FT for GW 35. Was planning to bring in Dempsey and ditch Sess. Now I am considering of getting Tevez/Aguero at least for GW 35 (if Spurs win I will keep, if not - will get Ade probably)

Do you think it is worth doing ? If so, which one to get?
I gues it also depends on the Spurs result this evening.

Thanks. I also have DGW plans. Want to bring Ade and BAE (should Spurs don't get a win tonight), Pienaar, HBA and even Mata/Lampard are on my radar (Chelsea players depending on the result). I am so confused. I am top of almost all of my mini-leagues. Just chasing one guy who has Aguero, RVP and strangley still Ba. (20 points behind him), his midfield is no match to mine though.

Seems like your just bringing in a Bolton player for the sake of it because they play 4 games in 2 weeks. They are poor and will not get many points at all.

Who are the essential DGW players? Im struggling to see why people are mostly avoiding Chelsea, who have two good home ties, and want players like Dempsey and Cisse, who have two pretty difficult away games.

At the moment I have - Bale, Simpson, Cahill, Bogdan.

I'll probably have 2 FT for GW36, who should I be looking to bring in? I was considering Vermaelen > Baines as 1 of them but then I'd still want him back for the next week!

I think Bale and Baines are important picks, 1 of Ben Arfa/Cisse... Certainly at least 2 Tottenham players

Liverpool actually have nice fixtures but honestly they'll need to pull something big out against WBA for me to consider one next week
Chelsea look very good I agree but are iffy because of the UCL and potential FA cup - near certain rotation

Most Chelsea players probably won't play both of the games because of the CL tie against Barca. It's a lottery to guess which ones will.

      only essential ones (imo) are:

      baines, dempsey, cisse

also depends on if spurs win today - might add bale/ ade to that list if they are knocked out

If Chelsea beat Spurs and reach the final the 2nd DGW match will be a write off with all the key players rested as it's only 3 days later.

Plus Drogba and Torres aren't really scoring. Lampard is too expensive for his returns. Mata is the pick of the midfielders but with CL and potential FA Cup final his usual 70 minutes a game will be reduced further. 3 match ban for Ivanovic leaves you with Terry + Cole (too expensive for what they give) and Cahill who isn't bad value but not essential by any means. Cech is a good DGW option but no better than Howard or Friedel for the double.

2 freebies this week so have to use 1. Which is best:

    a) Rooney -> Aguero/Tevez
    b) Bring in a GW36 DGWer (if so which one and for whom?)

    Migs, Bogdan
    Kompany, JEvans, Skrtel, Caulker, Turner
    Dempsey, Walcott, Sessegnon, Valencia, Siggy
    RVP, Rooney, P Cisse
    Bank 0.6m, 2 freebies

Sorry if it's been asked before but I suppose the big question this week is Ebanks-Blake or Heskey? For RVP and 4 pt hit.

Bring them both in for an 8 pt hit and ditch Rooney as well.

Guys, why consider players for the DGW that you would never otherwise buy? It will end in tears.

absolutely - i've made that mistake before. you only end up with a team you don't like. plan ahead for players you want to the season end imo
