From desperation comes inspiration. If, as Sir Alex intimated, Roberto Mancini’s decision to allow Carlos Tevez back into the fold at Man City really was a last-ditch attempt to revive fortunes, there’s little doubt that it’s had the desired affect. Ferguson will be fidgeting uncomfortably having watched Tevez almost single handedly turn City back into a goal machine in the last two matches, knowing that they’re on a collision course on April 30.

For Fantasy managers, today’s hat-trick, capped with a cheeky assist for the revived Sergio Aguero, offered a stark reminder of the scoring power that Tevez brings. He started the season as a 12.0 player in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, having fired 21 goals and six assists last term – Tevez was and still is a Fantasy heavy-hitter.

Norwich felt the full force this afternoon as the Argentine inspired City, having re-ignited Mancini’s side in midweek in the 4-0 win over West Brom. Suddenly, having recently struggled for a cutting edge, particularly away from home, City are a free flowing attacking force once again. Aguero’s brace of goals today were his first league strikes away from the Etihad since that win at Old Trafford. With four in two matches, he’s now firmly back on the radar and could upset what looked like an established front three template of Van Persie/Rooney/Cisse for the remaining Gameweeks.

Arguably Tevez makes a bigger claim for our attention. We took a punt on him over Aguero in the Scout Picks having seen his statistics and form in his recent cameos and knowing his quality home and away. Tevez has come back and, once again, looked like scoring and setting up goals: today that came to fruition.

The Fantasy prospects of both Tevez and Aguero now, ironically, rest with United and the title race. A slip against Villa tomorrow looks unlikely but with City flexing their muscles in such intimidating style, the pressure on United has increased. Realistically, City will go to a beleaguered Wolves next weekend hoping that a stubborn Everton side can recover from today’s FA Cup disappointment and provide an awkward obstacle at Old Trafford. Then it’s all down to the clash at the Etihad that follows.

City need to stay in touch for Fantasy managers to invest with confidence – to sacrifice a double Gameweek transfer for either Tevez or Aguero for the Gameweek 36 trip to Molineux would be a brave move – a break from the best laid plans. However, as today demonstrated, Aguero’s form has moved up a gear and the talent of Tevez looks to have been the catalyst. Together they could yet play a major part in our Fantasy seasons and a title race which appears to be far from over.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

This week - Rooney --> Cisse & Walcott --> HBA

Next week --> Enrique --> BAE & Agbong --> Jellyfish

    Leaving GW36 only a 4pt hit and:

    Schwartzer
    Baines – Ream – BAE
    Bale – HBA – Dempsey – Siggy
    Jelavic – RVP – Cisse

    Thoughts??

I'm too sparky to be inspired - I won on the National - but here is an effort, anyway:

        Rocket Man Sigurdsson

... With apologies to Elton ...

Swansea won so well today ...
        And Sigurdsson has scored
Again - I'm gonna be high as a kite by then
        When his assist is added
        It's lonely here at home,
        On such a wonderful night

And I think it's gonna be a long long time
Till my feet touch the ground again - to find
He’s not the man they watch at home
Oh no no no he’s a rocket man -
Sigurdsson burning up the backs away alone

Bolton ain't the place to raise your kids
In fact it's cold as hell
And there's no one there to raise them if you did
And all this stuff I don't understand
It's just my hobby every week
        Sigurdsson, fantasy man!

And I think it's gonna be a long long time...

        😀

Your position in my team is in serious threat from the likes of Tevez/Aguerro.
You are my captain this week. So,granting you last chance.

I am glad that Muamba appears to be making a good recovery. Also I agree with the general view at the time, that with him being a premier league player, discussions regarding FF were inapproriate in the immediate aftermath of the incident. However, I did feel some of the responses to those bringing up fantasy topics were slighlty holier than thou (of course some others were just jerks who deserved any abuse they got). Have you heard the sad news?

        Both. Because:

        1. Rooney was out for me anyway.
        2. Even Wolves think they're relegated, I'm betting they will capitulate heavy against City.

Was Adebayor taken off last week? Is he still a lot of people's favourite for captain in DGW?

I'm planning on getting him for the DGW, but will probably captain Bale.

Only because Tottenham's last DGW I captained Bale and it did me well!

The problem I see with bringing in Tevez/Aguero is that you'll want to get rid after GW35 and waste 2 transfers.

    Therefore, i'm out!

The bigger problem though is we could be in trouble if City score another 6-10 goals against Wolves.

        I am ok

I have the highest team value in my ML by some distance. No one in mine will ship Rooney or RvP and they can't afford all 3.

yes but if they get 30 points between them against wolves so can use 8 0f those points for an 8 point hit for dwg and still have some over 😉

Simpson over Verm, possibly Kelly over Baines, he's away at united, no penalties there

      But playing wolves?

You don't think they'll score as much, if not more than DGW players?

      I think they will.

ok assuming I go ahead with plans (which barring any injuries I will do) how does this set-up look next week

    Mingolet

    Verm, Evans, Kolarov,

    Siggy, Dempsey (c) Bale, Walcott

    RvP, Rooney, Cisse

    Begovic, Santon, Caulker, McClean

Very good. The same as mine and I'm thinking the same captain wise. I just have Friedel, Kompany and Valencia to your Mignolet, Kolarov and Bale, so our teams are looking very similar.

Happy my punt on Odemwingie finally worked out even if it was only an assist, I think i will now be offloading for Cisse or Jelavic. So 5 points already for Odemwingie the question is how many BAP's do you think he'll get, I'm hoping for 2, does that sound correct?

Can you afford just Sess to Dempsey?

If not then B, I'd keep Theo over Sess right now. Sunderland just look like they don't care.

My is still to only do 1 FT a week and carry one forward so I have 2 FT's for the DGW.

Do I bring HBA back for (h) to Stoke and sell Sess or look to get Tevez/Aguero for the Wolves game?

The Aguero thing is killing me

I really feel I want him for Wolves, but then I'd want to ship him in 36, so to me it feels like wasting a transfer
