Gameweek 35 kicks off with a game between third-placed Arsenal and sixth-placed Chelsea. Champions League qualification (and all the money it brings) is at stake, and the Dugout Discussion opens to see how it plays out. The line-ups from the early game have been released, and are as follows…

Arsenal XI: Szczesny, Sagna, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Ramsey, Song, Walcott, Rosicky, Oxlade-Chamberlain, van Persie.

Chelsea XI: Cech, Bosingwa, Cahill, Terry, Bertrand, Essien, Romeu, Malouda, Sturridge, Torres, Kalou.

From the defeat at the hands of struggling Wigan there are four casualties, with Johan Djourou, Andre Santos, Mikel Areta and Yossi Benayoun all out of the eleven. In comes Laurent Koscielny, Kieran Gibbs, Aaron Ramsey and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Juggling his priorities, Roberto Di Matteo makes eight (8) changes ahead of the second leg Champions League semi-final against Barcelona. Petr Cech, John Terry and Gary Cahill are the only survivors from the first leg.

After the game at the Emirates we’ve got five 3pm fixtures to enjoy, before the day’s football concludes at Loftus Road for the game between QPR and Tottenham.

The Dugout Discussion chatroom will be open for the entirety of today’s action, and can be accessed right here.

Nice one Verm...not too concerned about RVP not scoring yet again, all rivals in ML have him and some even captained him. Hopefully a few good points from Bale and Ade later as my differentials then Tevez to run riot tomorrow...top 1k here I come 😀

Will be close still I think! Tevez was and still is a big risk...just thought I had to go with it to try and stretch the points a bit, Rooney will probably break his bad form against Everton to bite me for getting him out 🙂

I am pretty clueless on the DGW still to be fair...if Spurs do well today though, it'll at least make things a whole lot easier for us as people will likely horde towards their players.

More than just throwing himself at a few shots in the box.

The likes of Richard Dunne and Roger Johnson can do that. Barça players were running rings around him at times on Tuesday.

Chelsea players are just too much of a rotation risk, IMO.

I'm going to watch the Spurs game later and consider getting VDV to go along with Bale and Ade, really depends on how they look though.

Surely Ade and VDV are rotation risks as well. Saha or Defoe are bound to have a match. And VDV probably won't play both.

It's a tough one...Defoe is more of an impact sub used by Redknapp, will depend on what happens tonight though. VDV I believe, has the ability to make an impact in the time he'll play, which should really be 50 odd minutes+ in each match.

I hope Van Persie scores again by the end of the season at least, i know he could have taken opportunites better (even though they weren't the easiest) Very pleased about Walcott coming off just before 60 mins 🙂 Ramsey was awful again, Oxlade was a bit disappointing and i think Koscielny had the best game of them all. Arsenal just seem to be struggling to score atm and counting too much on Van Persie again. I think he will move in the summer. Anyway come on CISSE!

Curse you London derbies and your recent lack of goals! Got stung by the Chelsea - Spurs 0-0 too.

why would people bench verm out of curiosity?
surely hes a player like rvp who u never bench because of his goal threat

I didn't expect a CS, but like you say, the goal threat was always there. The 2 alternatives were no better.

    a) Rvp->Aguero looks like a great move now. Half of my work done.
    b) Benching sagna is something I can't blame myself, playing him was too risky.
    c) And now with the walcott injury, it is clear that the doors for vdv are wide open now. Welcome back, vdv.

Very disappointing start to the GW. RVP + Walcott = 2pts.

The only plus is easy to transfer out Walcott.......
