Jonny Evans and Danny Welbeck are ruled out of United’s game with Swansea. Cheick Tiote reckons he’s ready to play against City, despite sustaining a head injury at Chelsea last night. Phil Neville and Victor Anichebe could be out of Everton’s last two games, while reports suggest Kyle Walker picked up a toe problem at the Reebok last night:

Sir Alex Ferguson has today ruled out Jonny Evans and Danny Welbeck ahead of United’s crucial home clash with Swansea on Sunday. Speaking to the press this morning, Ferguson admitted that, while Evans’ fitness has improved, he has failed to recover from the injury that kept him out of Monday’s trip to City, while Welbeck’s ankle is still feeling the effects of Nigel de Jong’s second half challenge:

He is out. He got injured on Monday. Hopefully he will be ready for the Sunderland game.

Javier Hernandez is surely set to come in for Welbeck as Ferguson moves back to a 4-4-2 against the Swans, while at the back, it’s debatable as to whether Chris Smalling will continue alongside Rio Ferdinand in Evans’ absence. Given his underwhelming contribution at City, Smalling could be replaced by Phil Jones in the centre of defence, with Rafael’s more attack-minded nature perhaps seeing him get the nod at right-back once again.

Cheick Tiote has assured Newcastle fans he’s raring to go ahead of Sunday’s game with City. The midfielder was subbed off just after the hour mark last night and required oxygen and several stitches after being elbowed by John Obi Mikel, but afterwards the Ivorian revealed he bore no malice towards the Chelsea man and felt fine for the weekend.

I spoke to John Obi Mikel afterwards and it’s fine. It was purely an accident from him. If you play in midfield your have to let people hurt you and be ready for it. I am much better. I can’t remember any of it, but the most important thing is I feel great. It’s just a cut on the side. It’s fine for me though, I will be OK for Sunday.

Everton look set to be without the services of Phil Neville and Victor Anichebe for their remaining two games of the season. Neville injured a hamstring in training earlier in the week and was unavailable for Tuesday’s trip to Stoke, while Anichebe limped off midway through the first half of the Potters’ clash due to a groin problem.

Reports suggest Kyle Walker complained of damage to a toe after Spurs’ win at Bolton last night. The right-back has been transferred in by almost 30,000 Fantasy owners on the back of last Sunday’s free-kick and clean sheet display against Blackburn, though the severity of the problem remains unclear. Luka Modric has said he expects to be fit for the weekend trip to Villa – the midfielder needed an ice pack on a foot problem after the Reebok romp, while Scott Parker is also likely to come into contention for Sunday. The former West Ham man missed out last night with ankle and Achilles problems but the club are optimistic of a quick return.

Ladies and Gentelman may I introduce the fantastic tale of Toptobottomhotspur ,my FFS cup opponent, and his wildcard.

His story is one of the power of keeping your wildcard back. He used it wisely this week, drafting in 11 doublers, got a score of 157 (185th in the world for the week, and saw his rank rocket from 107,941th to 34,623rd and top of one of his mini-leagues.

Just ten gameweeks ago he was 416,000th in the world.

Toptobottmhotspur, whoever you are, I salute you.

I'm not on Rooney this week Jonty.

Hernandez tends to take his points and next week he is away.

That being said, if you still have him, I certainly wouldn't advocate selling him, but I'm not sure I'd advocate buying him

The real tempter is that the additional funds would allow me to do Jelly>Aguero for gw38!

Cisse's form makes him hard to drop, but I think RvP is essential for last 2 weeks. Rooney on the other hand has 1 game alongside Hernandez and one game away, maybe not so essential.

For me this week it has to be either

RvP, Cisse, Jelavic (if Rooney was not already owned)

      or

RvP, Rooney, Jelavic (if he was)

Have also decided to punt on Maloney over Moses. 07 cheaper and on pens at set-pieces.

Oh yikes, that is bad luck. You're potentially missing 3 there Rukawa so yes, I would say a 4pt hit might be required, but it may be worth sitting tight a while longer incase any more comes out about Walker

    hello all.
I am 20 points ahead in my ML and concerned about RvP.
    My forwards: Cisse, Rooney, Jelly
Rivals forwards: Cisse, Rooney, RvP (he will almost certainly captain RvP)
    Should I:
    (A) just bring in RvP for Jelly to counteract his strengths or
    (B) just play my own game and maybe look at weaknesses elsewhere in my team?

I always play to improve my own team rather than spoil my opponents... he's probably as worried about Jelly destroying Wolves as you are about RVP....

having said that... in this case you are right to be worried... there's a reason RVP is so far ahead in the captains poll this week...

i'm considering going into this week without Rooney, but i wouldnt dream of going with RVP...

I wasn't content with having just Rooney so I brought in RVP as well. I'd bring in RVP out of the two for you though, Norwich seem to be crumbling and they've only won 1 game in their last 11.

I don't think it's a completely mental punt. In your case, it's better than Sessegnon but with your 5.0m warchest you could do something better. e.g. get some United midfield cover, for the love of monkeys

Don't laugh at my sadness but just wrote this to
support@mail.fantasy.premierleague.com! No doubt I will not get a reply but if I do I will post!

    Good afternoon,

Could you please explain to me how you accrue save points for goalkeepers as I am rather perplexed with this?

Tottenham have 11 shots on target yet Bogdan only managed 2 saves, why is this? I counted several. From the top of my head, the double save from Bale and then Van Der Vaart in the first half and the save with his feet at the very end of the game.

Further more is there a difference between "saves" and "blocks", if so, what is this? I notice on the BBC text that some authors seem to write "saved by" where as others write "blocked by".

Also, lastly, I would be very interested in the source you use for your data?

    Thanks and kind regards

    Hi guys,

I hope you all had a good week in the FL.

Can I please get some help with my defence. I have 0.6m and 1FT to rectify it. It needs major surgery.

    Here it is:

    Vorm (4.7m Selling Price), Mignolet

    Kompany, Hibbert, Cahill, Simpson, Evans

As you will know, I have a number of injuries there with Evans, Cahill and possibly Simpson. Also, Mignolet was dropped for Gordon last week.

I could downgrade one of my front-line players to release funds. However, I am happy with my front line which is:

    Bale, Dempsey, Valencia, Sigurdsson, Pienaar

    RVP, Rooney, Cisse

What would you do in my position. Obviously I will need to strengthen my defence for GW37.

hmm well I'd toss a coin between your keepers and hope for some save points.

Defence may be an issue, wait for news, if Cahill is fit you'll be ok. But Komps and Hibbert are good.

Maybe you could shift Cahill to Kaboul?
