Jonny Evans and Danny Welbeck are ruled out of United’s game with Swansea. Cheick Tiote reckons he’s ready to play against City, despite sustaining a head injury at Chelsea last night. Phil Neville and Victor Anichebe could be out of Everton’s last two games, while reports suggest Kyle Walker picked up a toe problem at the Reebok last night:

Sir Alex Ferguson has today ruled out Jonny Evans and Danny Welbeck ahead of United’s crucial home clash with Swansea on Sunday. Speaking to the press this morning, Ferguson admitted that, while Evans’ fitness has improved, he has failed to recover from the injury that kept him out of Monday’s trip to City, while Welbeck’s ankle is still feeling the effects of Nigel de Jong’s second half challenge:

He is out. He got injured on Monday. Hopefully he will be ready for the Sunderland game.

Javier Hernandez is surely set to come in for Welbeck as Ferguson moves back to a 4-4-2 against the Swans, while at the back, it’s debatable as to whether Chris Smalling will continue alongside Rio Ferdinand in Evans’ absence. Given his underwhelming contribution at City, Smalling could be replaced by Phil Jones in the centre of defence, with Rafael’s more attack-minded nature perhaps seeing him get the nod at right-back once again.

Cheick Tiote has assured Newcastle fans he’s raring to go ahead of Sunday’s game with City. The midfielder was subbed off just after the hour mark last night and required oxygen and several stitches after being elbowed by John Obi Mikel, but afterwards the Ivorian revealed he bore no malice towards the Chelsea man and felt fine for the weekend.

I spoke to John Obi Mikel afterwards and it’s fine. It was purely an accident from him. If you play in midfield your have to let people hurt you and be ready for it. I am much better. I can’t remember any of it, but the most important thing is I feel great. It’s just a cut on the side. It’s fine for me though, I will be OK for Sunday.

Everton look set to be without the services of Phil Neville and Victor Anichebe for their remaining two games of the season. Neville injured a hamstring in training earlier in the week and was unavailable for Tuesday’s trip to Stoke, while Anichebe limped off midway through the first half of the Potters’ clash due to a groin problem.

Reports suggest Kyle Walker complained of damage to a toe after Spurs’ win at Bolton last night. The right-back has been transferred in by almost 30,000 Fantasy owners on the back of last Sunday’s free-kick and clean sheet display against Blackburn, though the severity of the problem remains unclear. Luka Modric has said he expects to be fit for the weekend trip to Villa – the midfielder needed an ice pack on a foot problem after the Reebok romp, while Scott Parker is also likely to come into contention for Sunday. The former West Ham man missed out last night with ankle and Achilles problems but the club are optimistic of a quick return.

Was it not 198? I don't think 200 has been done in the FPL era. Pre FPL days Arsenal had a triple game week and Ljungberg got 50 on his own pretty sure 200 was done then.

Repost. Bad post timing at the bottom of the last page.

    Transfer dilemma.

Current status: 17 point deficit… Rival will have RVP (C), but he doesn’t have Rooney, vice versa for me.

    Thoughts on the following transfers?

    A) Evans + Sigurdsson > Boyce + Maloney (-4) and play Maloney over Mata for this week.
    B) Evans > Boyce (FT)
    C) Or should I be looking to get RVP in (-4)

You could leave it down to fate and see who comes out ahead RVP (c) v Roo (c) or else cover RVP and just let Rooneys points close the gap.

Hey MCH, appreciate the input on the last page too. Thing is, I'd be taking a hit to get RVP in, which will only make gap a 21 pointer. Which worries me a bit.

Furthermore, my defence is in shambles, so I've got to address that first.

The funny thing is, the places where they haven't spent ridiculous amounts of money are the positions that don't need much improving - so even if they did sign new players it'd be replacing ones they forked out loads on resulting in even more losses when they sell them. 🙂

The HKS project contributed to the loss as much as any transfers. I can't find a full report but I would imagine we will see the club running at about break even for the last year which is not bad at all considering results.

Yeah there is logic to getting RVP for Norwich although Cisse with score against City imo.

Yep you;'e right. He'll score in that game there's no doubt about it. Perhaps I should consider a hit and remove Jelavic for RVP and go forth with Pienaar as my only Everton attacking coverage?

That'll probably work out considering the Chelsea squad are still rotation prone. Cisse will get 180 minutes to wreak more havok this season though and that's why I'm worried

yes, your team is remarkably similar to mine, I have an 85 point lead. Rival has to take over 30 a week from you. Don't see it unless one of his differentials scores a double-hat trick or something

    Current Midfield

    Mata Dempsey VDV Bale Siggy

Have 2.0 in the bank...Have a forward line of RVP Aguero Jelavic (Have Cisse, but transferring him out...think the other three will outscore him.)

What should I change? Need to get Nani and/Pienaar in, but not sure for who? Any help is welcome, appreciated, and paid for by awesome secret favors... 😉

I'd sit tight with that midfield tbh but if I had to transfer out somebody, It'd be Bale considering VDV is already in there

I transferred Mata out because I think his gametime will be limited now. However, if I had two Spurs midfielders I might consider losing one of those...

I have a similar quandary and I'm losing Mata as I can't see him featuring much now. I'll keep DVD and Bale.

My mid is Bale, VDV, Demps. HBA is going on the bench. Who would you go for Siggy?

Leaning towards Nani, since I don't have any United coverage. What do you guys think?

Basically, Jelavic or Cisse yeah? Cisse for me anyday. Form has absoulutely trounced fixtures this season and I can't see it subsiding any time soon. However, if you're a firm believer in fixtures then Jelavic is clearly a better option.

Remember folks Evans is very unlikely to play, but there's still a small small chance of him playing so if you plan to keep him, you may as well start him. It's 99% sure that your sub will come in for him but there is the possibility that he will start. What have you to lose especially if a Swansea defender is your only other option? I do this on a regular basis and at least twice a season the red-flagged/unlikely starter ends up starting - it's a game of inches!
It's really only defenders or goalies I do it with as midfielders or strikers are more likely to come on as sub.
