Just one result, but today’s outcome at the Emirates couldn’t have set up the season climax any better.

In many ways the 3-3 draw typified the season for Arsenal. Robin Van Persie again delivered – his brace of goals taking him to 30 this term – an outstanding return for a player who, for the first time, has enjoyed a Premier League season uninterrupted by injury. But, once again, the Dutchman’s efforts weren’t enough, as the Gunners slipped to a late equaliser and were left frustrated by another spirited Norwich display.

Arsenal now sit just two points ahead of Spurs and Newcastle in third – leaving the door ajar for the pursuing pair, making their meetings with Villa and City all the more crucial.

It’s beautifully poised. While those without Van Persie will have been perturbed by only his second double figure return in ten Gameweeks, the result does at least ensure that Spurs and Newcastle will go into Sunday’s games buoyed by the opportunity presented them. Those who placed their armband on the Dutchman will settle down tomorrow with the comfort of a twenty-point cushion. Those who looked to Wayne Rooney will at least have renewed hope that Newcastle will go at City, perhaps setting up a Old Trafford goal fest just a few hours later. Arsenal’s role in this scenario was perhaps a minor one, but their failure to earn a victory has undoubtedly added further incentive for Alan Pardew’s men, making City’s path to the title that little bit more treacherous.

It also ensures that the battle for third will go to the end. Regardless of how Spurs and Newcastle fare on Sunday, both will go into Gameweek 38 contesting for the precious Champions League places. The Gunners will need to win at West Brom, similarly Spurs and Newcastle will have extra motivation to earn three points against Fulham and Everton respectively.

For Fantasy managers, that’s a dream scenario. With our squads full of assets from both clubs following the double Gameweek, we can now be content that the likes of Gareth Bale, Rafael Van der Vaart and Papiss Cisse will be fully motivated to the final whistle.

Then there’s Van Persie. He’ll go to the Hawthorns looking to push his side over the line – one last effort from a player who has undoubtedly emerged as this season’s star asset. Once done, we’re then reliant on Arsene Wenger’s ability to retain his services.

Arsenal’s failings ensured that our season went to the last – we can only wonder if they’ll also bring an end to Van Persie’s career at the Emirates.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Logic dictates that RDM should play all his European suspended players against Blackburn right?

ie. Terry, Meireles, Ramires and Ivanovic should start.

I think Drogba gives more phsyical presence, Torres a bit silkier. I'd start Drogba and keep Torres's speed for the second half. But that's just my guess Udit. I've no more idea than most really.

Look at how Arsenal have crumbled. Same ol' Arsenal.

Newcastle & Tot get 3 more points from their 2 games. Likely.
Arsenal losing to WBA 1-0. Likely. I know people on here don't agree but I reckon they're a mess at the moment with injuries to Walc & Arteta. And now, Sagna.
Chelsea winning their 2 games and improving their GD by 3. Likely.

Arsenal could end up 6th with no Europa next season. WOW!

      Dude chill..

You say this because you know that 4th spot is going to be open for CL qualification.. 😉

BTW I dont think Arsenal have crumbled, they are just playing as if they have already sealed the 3rd place. Stupid really, you could see this when we got to 3-2, Arsenal thought they have already won this match. Frustrating.

Killing teams off seems to me to have been a bit of an issue with Arsenal for a few seasons now.

I know some games they do, but not enough imo. They need that ruthless streak.

          +Googol.

Arteta was crucial in this regard. And Ramsey's the exact opposite of providing stability. Hats off to Arsenal fans for staying cool with Wenger's policy of sticking with Ramsey.

Arteta was playing more of DM when even Song was olaying alongside him. Arsenal has severely lacked the discipline that Arteta brings to the team.

And tbh Ramsey is not a DM, he played much better when he was given a forward role which is currently occupied by Rosicky.

And right now Wenger is forced to play Ramsey in DM as there are no otehr other options due to injuries. Diaby, Arteta, Wilshere, Frimpong and Coq all injured.
That is why Arsenal are looking at M'Vila/Martinez/Biglia etc.

As its so zzzzzzzzzzon here and... I don't know whose here, if anyone but Today could make or break mine and may others cash ML fitles.

So without being obscene what woould do the trick for me and why. Then perhaps others could share their 'realistic ' aims roar today.

    Evs predictions and hopes.

Newcastle 0. City 0. - Giving me a lescott cs and no goals for cisse, plus good news for United.
Villa 1 Spurs 3. - Avoididn spurs cs and goals / assist for DVD and Bale
    Bolton 1 WBA 2. - Don't care.
Fulham Sunderland 1. - Although I have Dempsey, a minge cs would suit ML more
QPR 0 Stoke 1 - Shawcross clean sheet
Wolves 1 Everton 3. - brace for jelavic. My MAIN differential.
    Utd 2 Swansea 0. - Rooney x2
Blackburn 1 Wigan 0. - nothing for Wigan forwards. Sorry guys,
Liverpool 1 Chelsea 0. - in case Enrique comes off my bench, very likely.

    So want do we think?

He puts excellent crosses into the box, but he's so fast time he whips them in at best only lazy ade is there, so it hinders his pass conversion rate.

Not for me... my nearest rival took a punt on Benayoun... and coupled with his 8 point hit this week... he's got 6 points (plus a bonus if he gets one) to my 22 (after bonus- minus a -14 pointer)...

he started the week 81 points behind... and he's already blown his ace... i'm thinking i might end the week 100 points in the lead with 1GW to go...
