This afternoon, we have updated our Pre-Season Guide tab on the home page for Fantasy managers looking for some last-minute research ahead of Saturday’s kick-off:

Included are links to every pre-season game that has taken place, all our Scout Reports and Moving Target articles over the summer and extensive articles on each of the three promoted sides. In addition, we’ve added a brief “Scout Notes” synopsis of the main areas of concern for all 20 teams.

Below, we’ve listed the men in form in front of goal over the summer so far – nice to see Mauro Boselli in there, tempting us all with his pre-season goals once again..

      As a Chelsea fan I hope for it, but Rooney has better fixtures from gw2, and Torres wont even play in gw3.

      because Torres is shite - i'm not saving £2mill and not getting Torres at all - i wont miss his 10 goals and i'll have the Pog getting 10 instead with a £5mill saving.

    I've pronounced it before and I plan to bellow it again - Kompany is an outstanding pick at 7.5.I can't think of even ONE player at 7.5 or less who will return more points.

      You're missing the point slightly - Kompany is £1mill more than Lescott and the question is with that 1 mill could you get recoup the difference in points of those two by investing it on the rest of your team? My answer to that is a yes, so i don't have Kompany, he was £6mill last season, and that was a steal, at 7.5, not so much.

      Pricey defenders have failed just about every season, Dunne, Baines, Hangeland etc etc when they were all 7.5-8 mill, now look at them down as low as 5mill - now is the time to buy.

      Buy low, sell high, my son.

          he has scored an average of 2 goals a season - take a look at cashley, up and down.

      7.5 on him though could be costing you an extra Aguero/Tevez/Rooney/RvP/Bale who will outscore him by miles though

          no subs, no captains, no live updating of points.

          i paid the £25 as it gave you 6 extra teams and a shot at the big money. As i said though, lost interest far too quickly despite having money invested and binned it.

          play the free team if you have too, but you'll be bored by GW3

            All those problems you mentioned don't seem that bad. I like to watch match of the day without seeing points so no live updates isn't a problem. No captain doesn't sound too bad. What's wrong with not having subs?

      No point planning transfer that much IMO. You have to try to get on the form players early on.

      "until luck gets involved" - yeah FPL is a lot of luck i'm afraid - if every game went to plan we'd all be rich from betting on it, but football has this way of doing strange things and shite teams beating better ones, and no amount of planning will predict Reading beating Citeh 3-0 away, but it could happen.

      Dont like your midfield other than Bale and Pienaar and your subs will never happen like that - injuries and suspensions and other bandwagons which you're bound to jump on will come along.

      It's the bloody start of the season. Torres will play 45 mins for Spain and be fresh for Chelsea... like a training session for him.

      he wont not play because he's tired, he'll not play because he is crap and they have 8 midfielders who are better than him and RDM would probably rather play 6 mids than him up top for 90mins for 2 games in a week...

    I wonder what the best way of getting United cover is if you go without Rooney to do Tevez/Aguero up front.

    I don't think you JUST want 1 midfielder from in all likelihood the 2nd highest scoring team in the league.

    Something like

    Kagawa/Valencia + Tevez/Aguero

    looks very nice in my team.

    A bit too Manchester based perhaps, but then if things go how they did at the start of last season...

    He was decent when he played in the Netherlands. He had a tough time at Sevilla. Found his form with Levante last season. 15 goals in 34 games.
