The first gameweek of the season concludes tonight at Stamford Bridge, as Chelsea look to take an early lead at the top of the Premier League with victory over Reading. Their commitments in next week’s Super Cup brought this fixture forward, and the Dugout Discussion opens in anticipation of delightful double-gameweek points.

The team news for tonight’s encounter is in, and the sides will line-up as follows…

Chelsea XI: Cech, Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Cole, Lampard, Ramires, Mikel, Mata, Hazard, Torres.
Reading XI: Federici, Gunter, Pearce, Leigertwood, Harte, Karacan, McAnuff, Guthrie, Gorkss, Pogrebnyak, McCleary.

Both teams make two changes from their opening day line-ups. For the hosts, Ramires has recovered from the illness that kept him out at Wigan, with Ryan Bertrand making way, and Gary Cahill replaces the injured David Luiz. Reading replace Hal Robson-Kanu and Adam Le Fondre with Jem Karacan and Garath McCleary.

Question: Bonus points are achieved through performance on EA PPI, does this therefore favour players who play 90 mins more often? I was wondering about Hazard's long term captaincy potential if he goes off early in many games.

  I also have doubts for Bps. To me, Routledge seemed very impressive the other day and he played 90 minutes as well but got no Bps

    It seems players who play well in a successful team will get more PPI and therefore more bonus.

Need Cashley to do something! Top of my league has Lamps (c) same as me, Torres same as me, but has Iva so desperately need to catch up!

Can't complain though, fat frank has been my saviour so far!
