Eden Hazard is the main provider for Chelsea in a thrilling 4-2 win over Reading. Penalty duties bring Frank Lampard another respectable Fantasy score, Branislav Ivanovic notches in back-to back matches, while even Fernando Torres gets amongst the goals – sweet relief for a huge number of armband owners.

Eden Hazard
The Belgian continued in the same vein as Sunday’s game at Wigan and has wasted no time in announcing himself to Fantasy managers as a strong source of points amongst the Chelsea midfield conundrum. Having supplied assists for three Chelsea goals in last night’s narrow victory over Reading, Hazard now has five to his name already in a superb start to life at Stamford Bridge. Neck and neck for ownership with Juan Mata leading into Gameweek 1, Hazard’s more direct role for the Blues looks set to see him rocket in ownership despite a blank Gameweek 3 – the Spaniard, on the other hand, still seems lethargic from a lack of a summer break; the upcoming international break will be crucial to his chances of returning to the Fantasy force we were accustomed to last season.

Fernando Torres
Finally, he produced. It was just a single goal but the overwhelming armband favourite gave us something to smile about with a tap-in to put Chelsea 3-2 ahead. With Frank Lampard once again benefitting from spot-kick duties and Hazard dazzling as part of the attacking midfield three, Torres could struggle to keep his place in many a team – with the blank Gameweek 3 to follow, his home clash against Newcastle this weekend could be his final game for plenty of Fantasy teams as we begin to reassess our frontline options.

Branislav Ivanovic
Notching for the second successive match, the Serbian is now just one goal off equalling last term’s tally after slotting home the fourth last night. Like Hazard, his displays over the two games have earned Ivanovic a price rise prior to the game against Newcastle but with Chelsea still heavily expected to bring another right-back to the club, question marks are still against his long-term prospects. If the Blues fail to bring in someone else for his position, though, Ivanovic’s 6.6 price tag is unlikely to deter many.

Pavel Pogrebnyak
The Russian made his way into 17% of Fantasy teams ahead of the double Gameweek and, despite a change of tactics from Brian McDermott, Pogrebnyak kept his place in the side as Reading moved to 4-5-1; perhaps a sign of McDermott’s formation for away matches. His Premier League record of a goal every two games continued last night; Pogrebnyak had previously scored six in 12 for Fulham and a towering header at the Bridge suggests he could be a very handy cut-price third striker in FPL, at just 5.0.

Absolutely, Kagawa will play as much as possible imo, as he seems to be the most attacking minded and intelligent player on the field for united atm. I think he has a big part to play in this years challenge for the league title.
Graham I think will do well this weekend as well I as think he was unlucky not to be involved in the rout against West Ham.

so far his UCL stats dont impress me at all. And as Ade is there he will more likely play on the wing. And he will also very likely be classified as a forward, so he will be kind of reverse OOP

Think of it over two weeks...will Hazard get more over one week than say Bale/Nasri/Cazola etc over two weeks. If you think yes and are happy for him to sit on the bench one week then do it.

I personally think Newcastle are a different kettle of fish to Wigan and Reading and there are better over two weeks.

From gwk4 though....yes, get him, keep him, cherish him.

My reasons for staying away from Man Yoo players (for now)

Their defense - for obvious reasons)
Their midfield - too rotational and Fergie's favoured line-up is yet to be discovered)
Their strikers - Fatman & Robin are going to need time to gel, Robin isn't even guaranteed a place in the starting XI. Fergie is desperately trying to give Welbeck the message that he isn't unwanted. Rooney is in one of those patches of form that will probably take him a while to get out of.

The only players I'd even consider are Kagawa and De Gea.

I would disagree with Rooney's form. Yes he had a stinker against Everton but the previous two friendlies he was very good (particularly against a very competitive Hannover). Basically I would say don't judge form on one game.

Keep Hazard. Already making Chelsea tick. He'll be at least 9.8 by GW4

If you got Hazard than keep, Carzola got horrible fixtures until GW4.

Stoke away is an awkward fixture, but Liverpool away is quite an easy fixture. Well, as long as we don't have 8 minutes of injury time and a referee playing 11 minutes or however long it takes for an opportunity to arise to give a dubious penalty.

I'd wait until Arsenal have their nice run of fixtures before bringing Santi in IMO

How about a Nasri vs Michu debate

Looking at the stats, there is a vast chasm between these two players and I am starting to think that Nasri might be a better option for me as a replacement for Mata.

The pro's for Michu are -
(May) have more shots at goal as he doesn't seem to pass the ball much
It gives financial flexbility to allow a hit-free transfer of RVP
    Almost 100% assured to play
    Fixtures look stronger on paper

    For Nasri
Far more "influence" - general involvement in game
    Plays for a stronger team

Is this a good enough argument for me to prioritise Nasri in for this week and wait a week or two before bringing in Michu?

    Quick Poll:

    Mata -> Kagawa or Valencia

    Torres -> RVP or Rooney

    My gut says RVP Valencia.

Due to the Aguero injury, I"m going to need to take a hit this week or next to field a full 11 in gameweek 3. I figure I might as well do it this week if I'm going to so:

    a) Mata out for Bale

    or

    b) Torres out for Van Persie

(The other transfer is likely, but not certain, to be made next week)

no WC and no hits. just sticking to the plan so one last check for me:

    DDG
    Zab, Clyne, Ivan
    Bale, Cazorla, Pienaar, Ramires/Kaca
    Tevez, Graham, Rooney

    Fed, Ramires/Kaca, Hanageland, Demel

    play Ramires or Kaca?

other than that, any glaring errors?

Vdv only Spurs cover and no Swansea cover

    Vorm
    Vertonghen Terry Clyne
    Vdv Mata Ireland Kagawa
    Tevez Torrez Petric

    Federici Zabaleta Noble Demel

So what to do with my FT?.......
    Vdv to Bale
    Vdv to Michu
    Petric to Graham

    Cuellar Gallas Hughes Demel Clyne
    Bale Sigurdson Kagawa Michu McLean
    Graham RvP Tevez

Would look to switch Siggy -> Hazard and Graham - > Petric after a few weeks.

    Thoughts?

good lads. I am seeking some contributors for those leagues. To write Gameweek reviews, Order of Valour that sort of thing. Are you either of you up to the task?
