For all his grumpiness and bile, Granville’s enthusiasm spills over as we both dive into the hot topics of the week: Juan Mata’s decline, Eden Hazard’s rise, the Rooney vs Van Persie question, whether Granville is the dopey one.

All these issues and more are addressed in the next 38-minutes, along with the return of All Aboard, the weekend preview and the first decisions to be made with the ailing ScoutCast XI. It’s my turn to play Pat Rice to Granville’s Arsene Wenger this week and, to script, I prove to be more of a hindrance than a help.

  There is no reason at this stage to assume any different than the same as last week. The Press Conference should tell us more. Rafael could cone back in (with it being a home game) and Evans will start if fit) unlikely. The only 2 nailed on players are Vidic & Evra.

@ Christina regarding podcast and RVP/Rooney (from last page):

They basically discussed whether RVP is worth 13m and said he could justify that price playing off the shoulder of the last defender and scoring loads and not having to come back and dictate play like he did at Arsenal.

They discussed that Rooney/Kagawa would probably play deeper and link up the play and talked about whether RVP or Rooney would be the better player in the role of spearheading the attack.

        RVP scoring freely home and away and on pens/corners/free-kicks would be ideal.
        
        Rooney (c) this week though as RVP's gametime and set-pieces aren't assured.

        The penalty role is key for the big teams . The stats show that the big teams (che, both manchesters, arsenal) get far more pens, and far more at home. Having the pen taker from them is a shrewd move. Fwiw I think Rooney will retain them. He has a great record.

    i had similar dilema , decided as i couldnt afford VP i wouldnt bother with rooney , so bought in Kagawa instead , much cheaper and less disruptive to rest of my team . Also allows torres to ade next week

What are people's thoughts on VDV v Siggy? Need a Mata replacement for next GW. Is it just a wait n see thing after this week? Also, will VDV drop before the deadline. Fiso says yes, TotalFPL has only at 80%.

  Avb as come out today saying vdv is part of his plans and trained well this week. He was dropped, so Avb says, because siggy had more pre season . I think vdv will start... Or at least he's more likely to start than not. Mats is the one to drop and bale, kag, Santi, hba or nasri are all great replacements.

Give me top 2 of these gw4 onwards; Hazard, Cazorla, Bale, Kagawa.
I'm thinking Bale + someone, but just can't decide who.
Hazard is getting quite expensive already...

Anyone managed to field RVP/Roo + Tevez and 3 of those milfs?

  I have Cazorla, Bale and Kagawa and have considered who would go for Hazard, but couldn't make the call, so I am going without.
  
  Kagawa, probably has the better fixtures, but Cazorla may be more integral to the attacks at Arsenal.

  Found very little. If he scores, it will be due to the hard work of others I think. I can see him scoring a few cutbacks/tap-ins over the season.
  
  Thinking of holding anyway. Getting Rooney in this week seems desperate. If I just save my trannie I get so much more flexibility as I could downgrade Lamps (which I'm doing for sure) for Nasri/Kagawa/Michu, which would give me more flexibilty with my replacement for Torres (perhaps RVP if he convinces me!)

I think Torres is alright - but Bent is gonna be the big mover this week (I hope!) Bale for captain? Steven Reid really sucks at RB for the Baggies. Come on Gareth!
