We may have suffered inauspicious starts to the season but there’s no denying it, we just love Fantasy Football.

For all his grumpiness and bile, Granville’s enthusiasm spills over as we both dive into the hot topics of the week: Juan Mata’s decline, Eden Hazard’s rise, the Rooney vs Van Persie question, whether Granville is the dopey one.

All these issues and more are addressed in the next 38-minutes, along with the return of All Aboard, the weekend preview and the first decisions to be made with the ailing ScoutCast XI. It’s my turn to play Pat Rice to Granville’s Arsene Wenger this week and, to script, I prove to be more of a hindrance than a help.

Indulge in the lovefest via this link or, alternatively, get streaming using the handy player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

As a VDV owner i'm beginning to have my doubts. There's speculation that he might be sold before the window closes. The ginger lad is a tw@ and rarely pick his best possible XI so who knows.

He's getting one more GW for me vs West Brom. I don't think he'll drop this week.. he's only on 69.8% according to TotalFPL. 30+ players more likely to drop!

question: FISO says Mata will drop tonight; should I transfer him out (also have Hazard) for either Ben Arfa (might go up soon) or Bale (relatively favorable fixture), or should I keep Mata?

Mata out for Bale. Bale will be strong for the next 4 games at least. Ben Arfa is a great player but mixed fixtures coming up.

thanks; I also have Sigurdsson; I want to bring in Ben Arfa soon--he might go up in value before the weekend

so Bale or Ben Arfa in for Mata? should I wait on Ben Arfa, and not regard the likely price increase?

Not too bad. Kagawa might be a risk at captain, but he's as good as any other you have. Tevez? Perhaps Graham at home ? I might favour Maloney over Noble, both are away, but Maloney seems the livelier player.

United always do well vs Fulham at OT, so went with Kagawa. Might throw Maloney in for Noble then, but isn't Noble on pens?

Anyone care to give some advice on (C) this week. Realistic choices from my team are Defoe, VDV, Tevez, Mata, Michu.

Currently have it on Defoe and VC on VDV. Bookies look like they agree. Only worry is AVB and not having a clue what he will do next.

If Defoe starts I fancy him as much as anyone this week, bar RVP.

Good to have you here then! I have Gerrard and was dismayed by the opening day disaster, you reckon I should hold my nerve and keep him? Any chance of points against City? I got him for the big games too.

Gerrard is becoming a mystery to a few of us pool fans. His A game is explosive and he still has a few of them in him, but his B game, like last week is really below par and he just goes missing.

For example, Yaya had a B game last week arguably, not his best, but still nicked a goal. Gerrard did F.all.

If you got a transfer to burn, id drop him. If not, well two home games against big sides is probably not a bad thing with Stevie G.

Yes talk to Moment about this. One justification provided is that if you're aiming to get 2000 points with 100m, that works out at 2 points per 0.1m gained (sale value, not team value). So in theory 0.2m sale value gained pays off a hit later. As a crude approximation I can see what they're getting at.

did that already, already my team value is 100.5 mill with takeing 8 point hit. that drops me down to 74 poinmts to gw1 for 86. But if i hadnt did that i wouldnt be able to afford tevez or Michu.

if tonights rises go as expected, then my team value will be 100.8mil with no hits. Transfered in Michu and have Tevez, Ivan and Petric. If Michu has a good game this weekend I can see another 0.3mil rise again next week

I always take a few hits in the opening 10 or so fixtures. Mostly to get the team right and having to swap out the turkeys from my original draft, but the value is a bonus.

I'm really considering it due to the likely 0.3 rises this week for Michu, Hazard, Tevez. More based on wanting those players rather than team value. Soon I won't be able to afford them- although I think Hazard will drop a bit when it is realized he misses gw3.

To be more specific, I think it is definitely worth a hit for the dominant United attacker, whoever that is. So if RVP or Rooney dominate, yes. Can really see a backlash and another thrashing. It's also why I'm turning off Kagawa as I'm not sure he'll be so involved.

What are your thoughts on Valencia mate. I've got reservations about Kagawa aswell, he reminds me of Modric and that's not good for fpl, though he was unlucky not to bag a couple assists v everton, but once rvp came on he seemed to drop deep.

To be honest RVP DID put him through one on one for a difficult chance the goalie reached first. It could go either way, it's claimed SAF could play a 4-2-1-3 with Kagawa the 1 for example.

The fact that he failed to score any points from 5 goals is the major concern with that one..

In a bit of a selection dilemma, which player would you bench for this week out of:

    McClean, Michu, Kagawa, Bale, Nasri
    RVP, Tevez, Defoe

Thinking I'll bench Nasri just for this week but hate seeing that much money on the bench. On the other hand I really fancy McClean against reading.

Exact same. Newcastle will be a tough match for them. Then there's a blank so he might even drop by .1m that week. I'll get him after the break, he'll be about 9.8m but it'll be money in the bank as he'll likely continue rising thereafter. Value isn't everything

Yup. Just gonna have to take the price rises unfortunately and try and make up for it in points!

Same, have Mata at the moment and more pressing concerns. Will be looking to do the switch post GW3.

Hopefully he has a quiet game against the Geordies, maybe a nice yellow card and early sub off.

I'm in the same boat, really want to do Mata > Hazard tonight due to price changes but I know it doesn't make sense looking at the fixtures. Think I'll just have to stomach the price changes and do it after the blank gamweek.

AHH!!! Already took a 4 point hit, but still don't have Michu. Worth an 8 pointer to get him in before his price goes over 7m?

It won't go over 7m before saturday anyway, it won't go past 6.8m.

You might be glad, he could flop this time around!

I gambled and lost big in GW1. My first reaction was WC, but changed my mind and thought I'd consider my chances for GW2. I need to transfer out REA and CHE players to fill my squad for GW3. With Aguero out I will only be able to field 10 players.

I know I should keep the WC for a DGW/TGW later in the season, but I am 50 points behind and will l fall further behind in GW3. Play the WC and jump on the wagons before that's too late?

    Team as it is:

    Fed, Beg
    Cole, Clyne, Lescott, Demel, Gorkss
    VDV, Mata, Dyer, Silva, Noble
    Torres, Agüero, Pog

Despite how bad your team looks, I still wouldn't WC.

I would change Aguero -> Tevez

I wouldn't WC either...just sell Aguero and ship a couple of the non-players next week...many of todays hot players will look stale in a couple of weeks

Okay so I finally decided to captain Kagawa this week, his performance against Everton was very good and I hope he can grab some points, that leaves me with
    De Gea (Federici)
    A.Cole Lescott Celluar ( Fabio Hanglenad )
Hazard Kagawa(C) Michu Yaya Toure ( Noble )
    Pog Tevez Torres

I'm still contemplating on whom to start from Noble and Pog ?
