We may have suffered inauspicious starts to the season but there’s no denying it, we just love Fantasy Football.

For all his grumpiness and bile, Granville’s enthusiasm spills over as we both dive into the hot topics of the week: Juan Mata’s decline, Eden Hazard’s rise, the Rooney vs Van Persie question, whether Granville is the dopey one.

All these issues and more are addressed in the next 38-minutes, along with the return of All Aboard, the weekend preview and the first decisions to be made with the ailing ScoutCast XI. It’s my turn to play Pat Rice to Granville’s Arsene Wenger this week and, to script, I prove to be more of a hindrance than a help.

Indulge in the lovefest via this link or, alternatively, get streaming using the handy player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

i think the safest is bale. but tbh, if you have all those players, looks like you will have a good game week.

    de gea
    lescott, a cole, cuellar
    bale, kagawa, cazorla, michu
    tevez, torres, graham

    bench: begovic, clyne, noble, mccartney

is the bench order/starting xi the best choice.

my plan was to see how well cazorla plays. he looks like a fantastic player, but that doesn't always equate to fpl pts (although he sure looks like he will be). but if cazorla isn't getting the pts, i will downgrade to a 6.5 midfielder, but upgrade graham to adebayor.

Its touch and go with Evans. Not sure why its important to you but I certainly wouldn't be looking to bring him in?

I would go for Zabaleta over Clyne simply because Liverpool are about the same goal threat as Wigan at the moment. Citeh's defence is clearly better than Saints defence though

    My GW 2 Squad:
    Friedel
    Cuellar A.Cole Zabaleta
    Bale Michu Nasri Valencia
    Bent Podolski Tevez

    Subs: Clyne Guthrie Hangeland

I just did Mata to Bale before the price rise.
Who should I start between Clyne and Zabaleta. Liverpool away is a tough match and Liverpool usually rise to the occasion in big games.

i have a similar dilemma between lescott and clyne. i don't think either liverpool or city will keep a cs, but then again, wigan looked dangerous against chelsea (although they did not get a great result). but that being said, i think it has to be zab

The problem lies with having to play 3 city players at Anfield. I already have attacking options covered with Nasri and Tevez. It's better to spread the risks. I will keep on mulling about this one(Clyne or Zab) till tomorrow's deadline. Thanks for your input

ya, in the end it's ultimately your decision, but from how i see it, neither will keep a cs, and since city have greater attacking threat, the more chance of zab assist or even goal

Each additional transfer you make in the same Gameweek will deduct 4 points from your total score (Classic scoring) and match score (Head-to-Head scoring) at the start of the next Gameweek.

From the rules, so don't take the Hit based on this week.

Afternoon, folks. Sort of having bit of a dispute with a mate who seems to prefer Mikel than Guthrie. He said Mikel is cheap and is on a winning team where you can earn one point off from clean sheets and all because he's on a 'winning team'. He keeps ignoring my argument for Guthrie that he could do even more better for the same value.

Any thoughts or better argument, folks?

No idea about that but the Newcastle defensive midfield and defence is much better than Wigan or Reading. Reading scored twice and Wigan should have scored. Chelsea's defence isn't all that great, Mata's knackered, Lampard's wayward and they've played twice this week already. Ba, Cisse and HBA are much better than either the Reading or Wigan attack.
          Who knows though.

Ok so here is my logic in the captaincy choice between Tevez and VDV/any other spurs player

City are playing Liverpool who lost to WBA 3-0
Spurs are playing WBA who beat WBA 3-0

Surely Tevez comes out on top then right? according to opposition form? and team form considering Spurs lost their last game and City won.

I know Liverpool are at home but they were pretty average at home last year.

I just think City are a much better team than Liverpool at the moment. I certainly can't see Liverpool winning. Much more likely that City will win. Scoreline? not sure but I wouldn't put it past Tevez to be amongst the goals. Not sure I'd back Bale or VDV to the same extent.

You could also argue that both Spurs (captain?) and Liverpool (opposition) are unknown quantities under new management that from the first game, didn't look too impressive.

Would like some input on my transfer this week. I have no united attacking coverage as I've been avoiding them until their squad seems to settle in. That said the transfers I'm considering are

    A) Lampard -> Kagawa
    B) A. Cole -> Baines

    Alreet lads

Good result for us last night. Draw in greece with an away goal, despite starting only starting two players (anita, cisse) who will be under consideration for a start on Saturday.

The fact that cisse played 77mins (to be replaced by 17 year old wonderkid Adam Campbell), suggests that he MIGHT be on the bench on saturday, with Ba as the main striker.

Talk is that Tiote will miss out, but I don't think that this has been confirmed yet. He won't be as big a loss as last season though, as the new guy anita can fill in.

Apparently there were some sort of family reasons he missed out on the bench on saturday. Rumours of a sick child. It has been confirmed that there was no bust up

The main reason behind me being convinced that he would start last week, was because pardew conned us (and i presume AVB 🙂 ) into thinking that barfa was unfit. So that door is obviously closed.

However, the fact remains, is that the best formation for us would be 4-3-3, and marveaux would be better suited to the position on the left of the 3 than ba, so there is still a chance he can get in the team.

Also, any injury to barfa, ba, or cisse, and I would expect Marveaux to be the one to fill in

I will get rid when I have no other transfers that I want to make. But I will certainly keep an eye on him for later in the season

Pardew poured cold water on talk of problems behind the scenes and told the Chronicle: “Sylvain had a family issue. He was in real contention for Saturday, trust me, and he’ll be in contention for Chelsea.

“He’s an important player. Hopefully, I can take him off the pitch, as he’s got a real chance of playing on Saturday.”

Quote from pardew from last nights local paper

Then a 4 pointer with Ramires out for Pienaar... avoiding the Michu wagon as I have graham and pienaar looked sharp and was unlucky to score on the weekend.

Valencia playing RB in three straight games has me avoiding him for now, and my main problem is if Nani and Ramires don't play I have Guthrie coming in away to Sunderland. Nani will be lucky to get 10 minutes at the end of the game after his showing vs Everton and Ramires, who I thought played well, only got 56 minutes out of 180.

I have to play one of these buggers this week:

    A) Clyne vs Wigan at home
    B) Maloney vs Saints away
    C) Noble vs Swansea away

Maloney seemed the best bet but the bookies fancy Saints for the win and even a clean sheet. Feels wrong playing 4-3-3 though......

Everything in order? not sure about bench or captaincy but figure its good to back Clyne at home and I have a feeling Tevez will be amongst the goals assuming City score some away to Liverpool.

    DDG (FUL)

Ivanovic (NEW), Zabaleta (liv), Clyne (WIG)

Lampard (NEW), VDV (WBA), Cazorla (sto), Piennar (avl)

Well they don't seem to be able to score so maybe they can defend 😛 I'm playing Lowton btw.

I just don't really trust Southampton's defence yet. Villa will hopefully be fired up after last weekends dismal display.

And Wigan look quite decent if they could just put the ball in the net.

When do team lists roll out? Or is it only on game day?

I'm wanting to bring in Adebayor aginst WBA... Surely that would be a practise run?!

Teams are only known after the deadline. I wouldn't do it, it will only be 3 days since being signed

I don't see much difference in clean sheet potential between those two. Ridgewell's attacking threat swings it for me.

Still can choose my United coverage which I'm taking a hit to get. Would you:

    A) Gerrard > Kagawa. This leaves enough in the bank to choose from Rooney or RVP next GW.
    B) Torres > Rooney. Not enough cash to get RVP.
    C) Do nothing
