Wigan accept Chelsea’s offer for Victor Moses. Younes Kaboul is a doubt for Spurs ahead of a strong run of home fixtures, Clint Dempsey is unavailable for Fulham’s trip to Old Trafford, while Newcastle and Liverpool rings the changes for their Europa League games ahead of weekend clashes with Chelsea and City respectively…

Wigan have confirmed they have accepted a bid from Chelsea for the services of Victor Moses. After a summer-long chase, it looks like the winger could be off to the Bridge – a move that virtually kills off his Fantasy appeal and immediately promotes Ryo Miyaichi in our thinking. The on-loan Japanese star now looks the likeliest to find a place alongside Shaun Maloney behind a lone striker for the Latics; coming in at 5.0 in FPL and 4.6 in the Sky Sports game, Miyaichi looks an enticing prospect ahead of a schedule that see his face (sot, STK, FUL) over the next four Gameweeks.

Martin Jol has omitted Clint Dempsey from the Fulham squad once again for the trip to Old Trafford this weekend. The US international has been agitating for a move away from the Cottage in recent months and failed to feature in last week’s hammering of Norwich and, speaking to the club’s official website, the Cottagers’ boss revealed he was frustrated at the situation but keen for the player to stay:

“Mentally Clint wants to move, he doesn’t want to stay here. His head was turned and that was the problem. It’s a problem and a situation you don’t want. It’s not something you can talk to a player about every day because he doesn’t want to. I don’t know if he’ll remain a Fulham player. I’d love to keep him, but I’m not sure. Hopefully if he stays, then in the next couple of weeks he will change his thoughts about us. With me there’s no problem and I don’t think there’s a problem within the team over him.”

It’s likely to see Alex Kacaniklic continue on the left wing for the United match – the Swede grabbed a goal in last weekend’s thrashing of Norwich and currently looks strong value at just 4.5 in FPL and 4.2 in the Sky Sports game. With Kacaniklic offering Fulham more width on the left than Dempsey tends to afford, John Arne-Riise was able to push on from left-back and grabbed an assist in the Canaries rout, suggesting the Norwegian’s attacking potential could also be boosted if the American does indeed depart before the transfer window closes.

Andre Villas-Boas has revealed that Younes Kaboul is a doubt for Spurs’ home clash with West Brom tomorrow. The Frenchman’s troublesome knee problem has surfaced once again and, with Seb Bassong moving to Norwich and Michael Dawson looking likely to leave, the scene could be set for Jan Vertonghen to finally make his debut. The Belgian was a surprise omission for the trip to Newcastle in Gameweek 1, with William Gallas preferred as Kaboul’s central defensive partner, but is odds-on to start against the Baggies, with Steven Caulker set to miss out once again. Gallas, priced at 5.0 in FPL and 5.3 in the Sky Sports game, could well be an enticing prospect over a run of fixtures that sees (WBA, NOR, QPR, AVL) all rolling up to the Lane over the next six Gameweeks.

Alan Pardew made nine changes for Newcastle’s Europa League trip to Atromitos last night, with only James Perch and Papiss Cisse (who came through 77 minutes unscathed) remaining from the side that saw off Spurs at the weekend. The Newcastle boss was still without Fabricio Coloccini and the Ameobi brothers – all three missed the Spurs match – and rolled out a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Ryan Taylor at right-back. Taylor’s set-piece duties again came to the fore as the defender netted a free-kick to earn the Magpies a 1-1 draw. It’s a quick-turnaround now for Pardew’s side – they now play Chelsea tomorrow evening, with changes aplenty once again on the agenda as they seek to halt the Blues’ winning run. Given last night’s line-up, it seems like Danny Simpson and Davide Santon will be the full-backs tasked with stopping Eden Hazard and Juan Mata in Saturday’s late kick-off.

Brendan Rodgers made seven changes from the side that lost to West Brom at the weekend as Liverpool travelled to Hearts on European duties. Jamie Carragher played alongside Daniel Agger in defence; with the Dane suspended for City’s visit on Sunday, the Reds’ vice-skipper looks nailed-on to play. The likes of Steven Gerrard, Luis Suarez, Glen Johnson and Lucas were given the night off, with the latter an unused sub but their lack of cutting edge in front of goal continued – the 1-0 win at Tynecastle came courtesy of an Andy Webster own goal. Rodgers also revealed Andy Carroll was due to start the game but pulled out after sustaining a hamstring problem.

Won't move to Valencia, too much risk of starting at right back. Not sold on Kagawa yet really. Would prefer to move Torres to RVP with my free, but can't really ignore my Nani problem! I feel a hit coming on.....

        Siggy, Pienaar, Nani, Nzog
        Tevez, Graham, Torres.

Got the cash to upgrade to RVP which is my preferred move, but not liking Nani's chances of starting.

While it crossed my mind, I think a shout out to the folks at FPL towers is warranted, given a glitch free start to the new season. Couple of semi-useful new features and generally improved game update speeds as well.

People are being far too hasty getting Van Persie or Rooney
Odds are that one will do nothing , then what will you all do?
Supposing Rooney scores 2 goals and Van Persie does nothing. What will all van persie owners do then?
    A) sit back and wath their playr value collapse while rooneys soars
    B) swap him back for Rooney
    c) do nothing and sulk

Much better to stick with torres this week , then decide after fulham game. Better to bring in Kagawa , who cheaper and can still benefit from the assists of both

      d) grow some balls and take a punt on one of them. It's hardly a punt anyway being theyll both be sharing goals this season and they're at home to Fulham who they normally smash at home!

truth is that RVP going to utd may have decreased the potential and value of both players, for one club they are unlikely to return the same number of points in any season - if they do surely utd would walk the title - and i dont see that happening!!!

Exactly , as a team they will need to score many more goals this season to justiy those prices.
Kagawa at 8.5 looks much more sensible as he likely to be passing the ball through to whoever is up there, also has a fairly impressive scoring record in his own right

I think Kagawa will play too deep with Rooney and RVP on the pitch (in the Modric role). He wouldn't interest me. I think Nasri, Barfa, McClean, Nolan, Michu, Sessegnon are better options for less money.

Fergie was full of praise for Kagawa in his press conference . The sharpies are predicting Rooney starts on the left , and then interchanges with Vn Persie at various times through the game, leaving Kagawa in the hole

            Not for me!

Kicking myself for a couple of late decisions before GW1 - similar to a lot of other people's sob-stories: had Ivanovic and Cole as my Chelsea cover with Ivan as captain then got cold feet and got Mata in as the 'safer' option and made him captain. Considered upgrading Kaca to Michu but thought the money in the bank would be more useful early on. Benched Kaca (although that's more of a sub-story), etc, etc.

            Role on GW2 🙂

Similiar question on previous page but who will get more points?

        Torres

        Or

        RVP (-4pts)

I have exact same option, my intention was to bring in RVP, so gonna stick with it. A gamble I know, but fact is, RVP is a striker of the highest quality, playing in an attacking, wounded UTD side at Old Trafford.

I have been reading the comments and many people giving the arm band to RVP? Will he even start? If so does that mean Kags will drop deeper? with Rooney dropping into the hole?

Given time and games Kags could be vital for united in the hole against Everton he was always looking for the ball and he also done a couple of sublime through balls which were unlucky not to lead to goals.

        What is everyones thoughts?

I'd do it. Mata has blank GW3 and I think Bale will give you more than 4 for GW2 and has the more favourable fixtures coming up. The other question is, will Mata give you +4 more than Bale for this GW. I have both already so just sticking with them both.

Trouble is, i think that Chelsea could well be on the back foot again and apart from an offside goal Torres hasn't really looked much of a threat (watch him get a brace now!). I have the same problem and am very tempted by the -4 point hit to get in RVP

if you still have 3 chelsea players its worth a thought but for this to pay of tevez needs to score and torres needs a blank otherwise its points down the drain. For my money torres is likely to score points just because of the players behind him. Plus liverpool at anfield never an easy game - regardless of form.

The designated pen taker will take it, can't see it not being Rooney. Perhaps if it's 3-0 with 5 mins left, RVP would get it. Nobody knows for sure, but nothing to suggest Rooney hands the duty over methinks.
