A United cleanie and Van Persie to net twice is a respectable 13/2, but with Ferguson still testing the water and Van Persie perhaps limited to an hour of pitch time, we’ll only be backing a couple of quid.
Sunderland parked the bus at the Emirates with Martin O’Neill’s finely honed tactics enough to see them earn an unlikely 0-0 stalemate. Ricky Hatton look-a-like James McClean still managed to catch the eye and actually earned the maximum FPL bonus from the game with his contribution. McClean will surely get more freedom to attack against a newly promoted Reading side playing their third game in six days. With Sunderland buoyed by recent signings – Steven Fletcher and Adam Johnson, we’re seeing a positive result for the Black Cats with McClean a central figure. Paddy have McClean to score anytime and Sunderland to get a cleansheet at 9/1, which is perhaps a little skinny for some, but we’re willing to risk our final £4 on it.
