[sbu_large_image] The Stock Check

City suffer more anxiety attacks but, again, overcome QPR to earn the three points with some familiar names again amongst the returns. Here’s the stock check from the day’s final encounter…

On the Up

Carlos Tevez
The overwhelming captaincy favourite this weekend, he didn’t let us down. Tevez played a part in all his side’s three goals – providing assists for the first two before grabbing the third, he currently sits on 24 FPL points pre-bonus, with the maximum looking likely. Those who opted for the Van Persie option will now have a uncomfortable 90 minutes ahead of them.

Yaya Toure
Once again, the Ivorian delivered for his Fantasy owners. Toure’s opener against QPR means he has produced attacking returns in all three of City’s games so far; cheaper than the likes of Samir Nasri and David Silva across the Fantasy games, he is proving to be the main contender from Mancini’s midfield and can expect plenty of suitors over the international break.

Edin Dzeko
The Bosnian striker has his doubters but, once again, he cropped up with a vital goal. While Tevez is overwhelming the strongest attacking option in the City lineup, Dzeko now appears to be in the box seat for starts alongside him; particularly now that Mario Balotelli is facing a month out due to an eye operation.

Going Down

The City Defence
Three games, no clean sheets. It’s a bit of a worry for owners of Vincent Kompany and Joe Hart – both are priced highly across the Fantasy games due to their near guaranteed selection but with City continuing to leak goals at the back, the pair could well be shed from squads as we reassess our line-ups. Rotation is a constant worry – just ask Gael Clichy owners – while Pablo Zabaleta was withdrawn with a “slight” hamstring twinge.

Djibril Cisse
Dropped to the bench to make way for a change in shape, Cisse, along with Adel Taarabt, Junior Hoilett and Bobby Zamora, looks far from secure as Hughes shuffles his attacking options match to match.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Fed / Jaask

    Zab / Vert / Ivan - Demel/Clyne

    Michu / Bale / Pienaar / Kagawa - Kaca

    Tevez / Graham / RVP

    Got 0.5m in the bank and a FT (Also still have WC).

    What would people advise to do for the next GW?

    1) Defender downgrade to Ridgewell/McAuley or Saylor.

    2) Bale > Yaya or Hazard?

    Considered playing my WC after getting mad, then realized it would be a completed waste.

      certainly don't wildcard -- good impulse control there.

      Either of those moves are the right move. I'm considering the same, and I think my FT this week will be Zab to Saylor. Giving Bale one more week most likely, though not that confident its the right move.

        I'm in the same position as you, can't make up my mind. Think with AVB in charge I may just get rid of Bale now and catch Hazard before the price rise, then see what happens with Bale, TOT just look like a bit of a mess atm.

        Cheers, made me feel better =P

          I guess the other argument is that Hazard will rise and Bale will drop, and so even if they do go even on points the next few weeks, the best overall outcome is still to go Bale -> Hazard... hmmm...

            Yea I've made the leap if that makes you feel any different, for those reasons. Hazard will rise, Bale will most likely drop...I have more faith in the defenders anyway so don't mind waiting an extra week to see how they do and making the right changes then.

      getting rid of your 4.5m mid changes your whole team make-up, doesn't it? Probably gives you a selection headache each week for your front 7 (or at least it exposes you to lots of GW regret with points on the bench and being cash-short for a transfer). If you're set on it, just A.

      I'm guessing that money was originally for RVP. Aren't you tempeted to see him play tomorrow?

    You might think I'm stupid but I really want to WC this team:

    Friedel / Fed

    Ivan / Cuellar / Zab / Demel / Hangeland

    Bale / Michu / Kagawa / Cazorla / Maloney

    Graham / Tevez / Adebayor

    And do these trades:

    Friedel --> Foster
    Federici --> Begovic
    Zab --> Baines
    Bale --> Hazard
    Cazorla --> Yaya

    had a good week this week,was needed after the bad start
    doing bale to hazard,hazard will probably rise by 0.3 and bale could easily drop by that much,so its like a 0.6 gain

    Crap, still undecided. Current team is:

    DDG / Fed
    A Cole / Zab / Colo / Ryan Barnett / Gorkss
    Nasri / Bale / Michu / Pienaar / Noble
    Torres / Tevez / Graham
    Plus £3m

    A) Bale to Hazard to avoid another price rise
    B) Bale to Kags
    C) Torres to RVP, but would need to downgrade someone (prob Bale or Nasri)
    D) Upgrade Ryan Barnett
    E) Wait till after International Break....

    Please help, losing my sanity here. Thanks guys

    Quick brief on Hazard:

    I was switching numerous times pre-season... Hazard/Agüero or Silva/Torres. Needless to say, I eventually settled with the latter. So I'm not jumping on Hazard now, as while he's had a fantastic start to life at Chelsea... I still consider Torres a better points prospect.

    However, given the continually growing number of Hazard owners, I'm wondering if this is just me?

      Hazard was poor pre season/ community but in proper season has impressed a lot. I think because he has such high ownership now he's susceptible to a fall if he underperforms.. so long as he doesn't get injured/ stop getting assists (or goals) each game he's fine. I have both as i fancy between them they'll score well.

      I agree with you except for one problem. There needs to be a risk factor involved, and while I do believe Torres will outscore him - there is a probability that I may be wrong. Add to that that he will soon be .3 higher and if you dont have him, your rank will surely be affected by it, whereas not having Torres cant hurt you as badly. It really makes it boring as I feel it brings it down to a 14 man team, but I would rather find other prospects to have on my team. There are many high scoring forwards in this game, mids maybe not as many - and to top it off hazard is still cheaper than torres. Problem solved.

        Mids score more bonus points in general than any other position (saw a graph from last year few months ago, sure would come up in google). Hazard will pick up more bonus points than torres this season (based on watching the games he'll get a fair few), and gets more points for each goal. If i had to pick one, i'd choose hazard; i've chosen to have both until one seriously drops off and someone else really stands out.

      I got Bale out for Hazard, purely because Chelsea seem to be working better as a team and Tottenham look a little lost most of the time. Plus Hazard will rise and Bale will probably drop, decided it for me.
