A Stadium of Light stalemate brings the day’s proceedings to a close as Liverpool’s dominance fails to deliver a much-needed three points for Brendan Rodgers. Here’s part two of the Stock Check…

On the Up

Steven Fletcher
Three efforts on goal, all converted. Martin O’Neill’s money looks well spent as the former Wolves man proves that, if you can keep him fed, he will deliver top flight goals. Only the Berbatov bandwagon will tame interest in Fletcher over the next few weeks.

Luis Suarez
The Uruguayan still commands over 9% ownership in the Fantasy Premier League game and this evening’s goal, on a day when the other big players faltered, will provide great comfort for those who have kept faith.

Raheem Sterling
Outstanding again on the Liverpool right flank, capped by an assist, the young winger looks to be cementing a starting role and, with a rock bottom price tag, will surely begin to harvest further Fantasy owners in the coming weeks.

Glen Johnson
Shifted to the left-back role, Johnson pushed on as Luis Suarez tucked inside and was a constant attacking threat. If Liverpool can start delivering clean sheets, Johnson could shape up to be a useful differential punt.

Going Down

Carlos Cuellar
The most popular option in the Black Cats’ defence was subbed at half-time with a reported hamstring injury. We await the prognosis. A spell on the sidelines would be a concern, particularly with Martin O’Neill’s defensive options likely to increase with the return of Phil Bardsley and Wes Brown.

Steven Gerrard
Deployed in a deeper role, Gerrard saw a lot of the ball but not in areas that can deliver Fantasy returns. Gerrard, along with David Silva and Gareth Bale, has failed to deliver on his price tag thus far and today’s showing provided little encouragement.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    To Petric owners:
I just saw martin Jol's interview on the EPL premiership programme (Televised in Ireland).

yes, he hasn't produced anything yet, and is a rotation risk

      as I said earlier

I thought about Walters myself, but could he lose his OOPness once Owen gets starts?

You could stick with the Cazorla plan (or bring him in for Hazard if he tails off)

Ramirez could be great if he gets starts. There is Morrison, or Nolan

I was gonna suggest Snodgrass, but the next few fixtures are awful. If you can find the cash there is always Yaya

hmm, why so? Berba frees up 3.1 from Noble. Should give you 8.1 in that slot, so unless you're getting Caz you can keep Rafa and swap for Sagna in GW8.

          That is my plan atm

Unless I get him for Hazard I think not. Hazard's form can not go on all season, and Chelsea's bad run dovetails nicely with Arsenal's good one. I think I will hold off on Caz. Hazard can be switched to any mid I want.

Let's try again without the 'less-than-symbol-of-doom'

Who should I be looking at as a sub-£6.5m player to replace Routledge? (Budget won't stretch to the £6.6m to afford Pienaar)

    Currently have my eyes on;

McClean - Sunderland haven't looked great so far. Longest streak MoN has gone without a win in the PL.

Snodgrass - Heard a lot of good things about him but in the first Norwich game I've watched this season he looked off the pace and poor with the ball. A one off bad performance, or something to be concerned about?

Maloney - Wigan looking good, but he was subbed off at 58mins today. Always going to be an injury risk tieing me to a FT at some point in the future.

Walters - Stoke have SWA, liv, mun coming up - I'd rather not get involved in that.

There's always someone like Morrison, who I haven't seen enough of this year to comment on. Or a new boy risk like Ramirez (but who would want to go near Southampton right now?).

I remember thinking that ~£6.5m in MID was *stacked* at some point this year, but it really doesn't seem it right now.

So, 4 weeks into the season, still many questions left unanswered.
Which big teams to invest in defence?
No stand out mid apart from hazard
the gk situation, no vorm-krul pairing like last year, clear yet
    The 3rd striker situation.

Any opinions on these are welcome.

      1 Chelsea defence doing fine.
2 Cazorla will be the midfielder of the season. But he has two difficult fixtures coming up.
3 You don't necessarily need keeper rotation. You could just pick one cheap keeper or one expensive one. Then start him and leave it at that.
My two keepers are Cech and Jussi.

I'd go WBA. McAuley or Ridgewell. Depends if you're rotating your defense too.

No. The defense has been terrible. Crouch's goal was clearly a handball, but he shouldn't have been allowed to get in the area...

Yes berbs! Love having him in my team. It's nice to have him and Gibbs in from my WC and not have to worry about making any changes!

Graham hasn't done much for me too Udit. Looking to get him out, but have a problem having Jenkinson in as well. I'd do it if I were you.
