The penultimate match of the Gameweek sees Andre Villas-Boas chalk up his first league win as Tottenham manager with a comfortable cruise at the Madejski over Reading. Here’s the Sunday Stock Check…

On the Up

Jermain Defoe
Many had assumed he’d move to the bench this afternoon but Defoe started as the lone forward against the Royals, with Emmanuel Adebayor an unused sub. Having found the net twice, he looks difficult to drop – much to the consternation of Adebayor’s Fantasy owners.

Gareth Bale
Over 184,000 Fantasy Premier League managers had sold on the Welshman after a stuttering start to the campaign but Bale finally came good by bagging his side’s second. With QPR and Villa visiting the Lane in the next three, the suitors are set to come flooding back ahead of the weekend deadline.

The Tottenham Right Flank
The visitors’ pace down the right troubled Ian Harte at left-back for much of the match. Aaron Lennon and Kyle Walker plundered an assist apiece as the veteran was given a bit of a chasing.

Adam Le Fondre
Brought on at half-time as Brian McDermott changed from 4-4-1-1 to 4-4-2, the forward justified his manager’s decision with an assist for Hal Robson-Kanu’s late consolation. While the Reading boss may be eying up a lone striker system ahead of three road trips in the next four, Le Fondre has certainly given McDermott food for thought.

Going Down

Adam Federici
Despite shaking off a knock picked up on international duty, the Reading stopper dropped to the bench to be replaced by Alex McCarthy. With question marks over his game time, Federici is another keeper Fantasy managers will be keen to move on as we reassess our squads in light of the first four Gameweeks.

Clint Dempsey
Villas-Boas claimed both Sandro and Dempsey were jet-lagged before the match but, while the Brazilian was handed 90 minutes, Dempsey managed a brief 13 minute second-half sub appearance. Gylfi Sigurdsson still looks in the driving seat for the role in “the hole” right now, suggesting the US international could be set to lose further Fantasy owners.

Emmanuel Adebayor
A goal for Togo in the midweek internationals hinted at a return to form and fitness but it’s becoming clear that he’ll have to bide his time. Villas-Boas’ decision to stick with Brad Friedel over Hugo Lloris between the posts today was based on the latter’s form in the last game – if he applies the same logic next weekend, Adebayor looks set for another afternoon of bench-warming.

Benoit Assou-Ekotto
The left-back missed the Spurs win with a swollen knee. Reports quote Andre Villas-Boas stating that he may require surgery to clean out the knee which is being troubled by a bone fragment. We await more news but, should that be the case, Assou-Ekotto would apparently face up to a month out.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Evening lads, so has WR been on bragging about Bale yet?

On another note, Fed looks like another one to add to my list of players to move on, alongside Noble (out next week, Marv and Clyne)

    So for now, plans,

GW6 - Noble to Pienaar and Marv to Sterling (-4)

    GW7 - Fed to Foster

    GW8 - Clyne to Boswinger

Have you just made the Berba change?

All those changes should be easily affordable

You have Jussi, so no need to worry about a keeper change. But Migs is away at City GW7, so need another keeper for then

Your price rises must be better than mine.

Assuming Fed even plays he is away at Swans.

            Foster has QPR at home.

I agree no need to sell Jussi

            Do my plans look sensible

Not happy about -4 next week, but it should sort a couple of issues out and keeps the wc in tact.

Okay yesterday I decided no need to wild card, but as I just loggend in and saw NO FEDERICI!!
I did Graham => Berba yesterday, so another transfer would be for a hit.

Haven't got a keeper in two of the four gw's, so I'm very tempted to end good days for Jaaskelainen owners and get him in.

    My bootlist is this
    DDG + Federice immediately
Cuellar (could have waited but maybe it's time to wc and get this done too)
Kagawa (decided to wait, but maybe it's time...)
    Graham => Berba, already done

WC or 4 point hit to get a keeper???

Evening chaps. Be good sports and take a look at my team, link in user name.

I am pretty sure I need a WC, and am looking for confirmation. I have the keeper combo of death DDG and Fed, Kompany being a very expensive 2pointer and the misfiring Graham up front. I would have added Robson Kanu to that list but perhaps his goal might afford him some game time.

So what you think, I'd it possible to sort this out with a 4pt hit or less? I'm not sure I can. comments much appreciated.

You've got Demel coming in, and you and I both need Pienaar to go nuts tomorrow. If he does it's not that bad a week. I wouldn't WC - swap DDG or Fed for Jussi before he goes up in price tonight, resist kneejerking until then. You're at least covered goalie wise next week, and I don't see why any of the other players need shifting.... If 4 pointing, DDG - Jussi, use the cash to turn Graham into Berba who'll go up loads this week...

Everyone is a little doubtful about that. That said, the quality of Berba as a striker is of another level. Also, his goals to minutes ration in the premiership is astonishing. Jol knows how to use him best.

Even at West Ham, Berba influenced the game massively once he came on.

Its a tough one really between Fletch Berba Ba Jelly Poldi Lambert Defoe for that 3rd striker spot.
Lukaku as a dark horse with the Odemwingie red is an intriguing option as well.

I'd take a hit before a WC to move out two players. I'd base it on who will lose value and replace with someone who will gain value. To me a WC is just too valuable-- your midfield and forwards are fine.

You're right in the mix along with just about everyone's team. Preserve some cash to get in Aguero if Tevez becomes marginalized.

Wish I didn't know those totafpl/fiso sites, wouldn't have done graham to berba yesterday and could do ddg to jussi for free now.

My problem has been keepers since I dumped Vorm last season, first it was lindegaard + begovic(?) and now ddg + federici.

If they just removed keepers + captain selection, I would rule the world!!
