Signed in the transfer window, both Steven Fletcher and Dimitar Berbatov have wasted little time in acclimatising at their new clubs, turning the heads of Fantasy managers.

Placed snugly in the mid-price bracket, they both look to offer strong solutions to the third striker slot in our squads with other places reserved for expensive heavy-hitters. In that scenario, many Fantasy managers have been forced to choose from these two players – both take form, decent fixtures and almost identical price tags into the coming months.

In this latest article for our Members, we look beyond the goals and points notched so far, exploring the numbers behind their performances in an attempt to offer a solution to this particular selection dilemma.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Federici -- Ruddy
    Gibbs--Jags--Rangel--Harte--Bennett
    Santi–Yaya–Hazard–Dyer–Kagawa
    Tevez–Podolski–Berbs

Thinking of using my WC for:
    Federici > Jussi
    Jags > Baines
    Kagawa > Pienaar
    Bennett > Ridgewell

Panic on my part? Or worth doing?

I agree with the Dude. Jags to Baines is way too sideways for a hit. Your team is fine as is really. If you've made no transfers just do your first one and maybe the 3rd one. You can bench Bennett indefinitely, and Jags is fine cover for the time being (Baines isn't THAT essential... I've never caught his points in 3 seasons)

I watched SUN this past weekend and didn't think they had much rhythm or really any attacking plan. Granted it was Liverpool, but they were the home team. O'Neil doesn't really produce high offense teams

OK my last post tonight. Having realized that Swansea's defence is basically all injured, and Graham is a waste of a striker spot... a solution:

    Graham > Berbatov
    Kagawa > Pienaar

    4pt hit.

I would then play this team:

    Foster
    Baines Demel Boyce
    Hazard (C) Barfa Pienaar Michu
    RVP Tevez Berbatov

    Yes or no?

They are worth having long term. The will most certainly bring home the bacon on a consistent basis. I guess the question is, will it be more consistent than others? I think yes.

I thought on the first one, but then it's Berb away at wig followed by man city. Look at Grahams next four... fixtures must mean something! At the same time, I want berbs in my team... after city I think.

At the same time, I don't like taking hits, which is what convinced me out of the move. Could backfire /shrug.

Mulling over this weeks captaincy choice. Candidates are Baines, Hazard, van Persei and Berbatov.

Baines: Expect Swansea to score and Everton aren't nearly as good on the road.
Hazard: Just played a really tough game against Juventus 3 days prior. A small (albeit slim) chance he could even be rested. Could get kicked out of the game against Stoke. Still class though and playing at home.
van Persie: Scored in his other 2 PL starts. Not convinced by United on the road this season one bit. Up against an out of form poor Liverpool team who usually up their game against United. I think all practical factors go out the window when talking about Liverpool v United, anything can happen.
Berbatov: The main man in a team not renowned for their away prowess. You'd expect them to at least score vs Wigan and Berbatov is the mostly likely candidate. No midweek match either.

I really haven't got a clue, the only one i'm definitely leaving out is Baines. I might just pick it out of a hat 😐

Hazard or RVP - both at the centre of good teams' attacks. We know the Pool defence isn't up to much. The only question is how many they can score against United.

I just want a differential in that third striker spot, and Southampton has goals in them with Lambert their main man. Fulham are bad on the road and have not that great fixtures, and Sunderland are just really poor offensively.

Ive finally narrowed down the transfers I want to make down to these three. Do prod me in the right direction fellas. All for free.

    A) Kagawa > Pienaar
    B) Rangel > Ridgewell
    C) Cuellar > Billy Jones (3 week punt. I quite fancy the idea TBH)

Thanks in advance my good men.

    Repost... Hoping to get responses...

    Hi lads,

Much hoping for some expert advise..

    My mids are
    Hazard, michu, sterling, HBA, kagawa

I’m not much set on kagawa and looks like he’s price will go down soon enough.

Who would be the best transfer for him? If money wasn’t an issue? Or, should I have faith?

    Thanks in advance..

i sold kagawa this week on my WC (i guess not sold). love his play, but so unsure about playing time, especially with rooney coming back, and el jefe at MUN in general.

Bale possibly, or join the santi club. bad fixtures but might be fixture proof soon.

on WC and leaving tomorrow morning for vacation. good timing i know.

any glaring problems for this week (and beyond?)

    Jass (Begovic)
    Baines, Ivanovic, McAuly (Demel, Clark)
    Pienaar, Barfa, Santi, Michu (Kaka)
    RVP, Graham, Ba (c)

not on the berbotrain, and feel like graham will go nuts.

planning Ivanovic or McAuly to Sagna in a few week.

I'm fine with the lack of hazard but saying Tevez isn't worth it when RVP costs like 4 mil more and is also a rotation risk with Rooney doesn't hold water. Just last week he was dropped for and with Rooney coming back I doubt he will be on pens either.

ur line up is prob the best you can do for this week. Having a non-playing 2nd keeper has proven to be pretty costly this season so look into that in the coming weeks. Dempsey isn't a starter and should be cut ASAP for Santi/Bale

    Alreet lads!!

I'll probably get slagged for this, because I keep getting it wrong, but the way I see it, the only reason that Marveaux would have been on the bench last night, is that if he is under more than serious consideration for a start against norwich on sunday. He might have just been kept fresh, in case either cisse doesn't get over his illness, or there is more agent shit with Ba, and if neither happens, he may still start on the bench. But its certainly enough for me to delay getting rid, and I will probably even start him.

The more interesting part of this news however is how the scenario affects Ba and Cisse. Ba could lead the line in a 433? Cisse has been poor so far and deserves to be dropped, do you think Pardew could give Ba a chance to lead the line given his form?

I think we should play one demba in the premier and one in europe, depending on form. At the moment ba is the man in form, so should start in the premier. Cisse was originally in the europa squad, but then got ill. I would expect ba to be the main man on saturday, and cisse to play only if we go two up front. But then it depends how Pardiola wants to deal with the complaints from hte ba camp.

I will be starting both. If you can't double up on attackers at home to norwich, when can you!! But looking at your team, you don't have anyone else obvious to bench, so maybe no place for marveaux for you. But don't worry, tevez will be rested, so he will come on for you anyway 😉

Ba's agent has been twitting loads of stuff about how unhappy ba is with the way he has been treated. Pardiola isn't happy. But i'm not sure that we can afford to bench him or not

No word on how sick cisse is. Just that he was due to travel with the europa squad, but didn't as he was ill.

    Graham, Tevez, Torres..

    Federici, Pienaar, Vlaar, Zabaleta..
0.2 in bank and 1 FT..

10 players playing at home in this line up..
Is my starting 11 right ye think?

    Torres??

So would you make another trannie for a 4pter?

    I'm thinking either:

I wouldn't never take a hit for a defender unless 1) I 100% couldn't field 11 players and 2) to help bring in a heavy hitter. You don't see to meet my standard for hit taking so no 🙂

        What about A)Kags>Barfa?

I kind of agree about taking hits in DF. But Zab in particular is taking up 6mil and is a constant risk of rotation and even when he does play city cant keep a clean sheet. Just think it might be worth picking up Naughton for a month until BAE is back and spending the cash at a later date to do Kags>Santi

      C. Definitely wouldn't do B this week, taking a hit for a defender is generally to be avoided.

I'm keeping the faith with Graham but both Berba & Fletcher are causing me headaches for sure

Probably not for this GW, unless you're tight on cash and wouldn't be able to cope with the price rise/drop

if I had .1 more I'd have taken a 4pt hit to get Berba in for Lambert. If it'll only cost you 4pt for Graham to Berba I'd do it.

Really tempted by Rangel->Baines for a 4 points hit but I know I should never take a hit for defenders right?
    Am I wrong?
    Somebody enlighten me please. 🙂

Baines is a special case when it comes to DFers...........But this week when they are away from home I'd probably leave it and do it next week instead
