A successful 2011/12 promotion campaign saw Southampton rack up the goals as Nigel Adkins’ side finished second in the npower Championship. Having found the net 85 times last term, the Saints immediately placed Fantasy managers on alert and on the lookout for new blood for their squads. The most obvious and popular pick was Rickie Lambert who notched 25 goals in the Championship, while Adam Lallana and new arrivals Jay Rodriguez and later Gaston Ramirez have also been touted as potential Fantasy options. Even Morgan Schneiderlin – who had just two goals in almost 150 appearances coming into the season – has received some attention after his goal against Man United in Gameweek three.

thoughts plz:
(A) 8pt Friedel dyer berba > foster sterling aguero
or
(B) 4pt friedel berba > mccarthy aguero
* friedel is my only playing keeper at the momentOpen Controls-
Neither mate. Just sort out Berba. Neither of those keepers is likely to keep a cleanie imo.

+1

Hi tosey, tries to reply a few pages back.
It's a tricky one. I wouldnt want McCarthy as my only keeper (esp having watched him on loan at Ipswich!). But you seem comfortable to use him for a bit before Bego.
I've got Friedel as well, and i'm pretty tempted to just bung in Foster and forget about it (hopefully!). I like the 3 players in A) - but just not sure it's worth an 8 point hit.
Sorry that's not more helpful.
If i absolutely had to chose...probably B. Just.Open Controls-
yeh 8 seems a bit steep, i may be in the minority but i think aguero is a must-have from next week
Open Controls-
I agree he's going to be mega from next week. He's always been Mancini's 1st choice in the Premier League. But maybe you can wait?
How about Dyer -> Sterling this week.
Then Berba -> Aguero + Fridel -> Foster next week?Open Controls -
Tosey, do you think aguero will start v sund? He should start v fulham and Dortmund but I dunno about all 3
Open Controls
-
-
-
B for sure
Open Controls

Berbatov 🙁
fellow owners what you are doing with him,he is clearly out for next 2 GWsOpen Controls-
I'm keeping him, and Sterling will come in for one or two easy games, no drama.
Open Controls-
Same. So Maloney will play a couple of weeks, no biggy. I have had Berba for a couple of GWs anyway, so I have not taken a hit on getting him this GW.
Open Controls
-
Keeping. Wait for more news next week. Have Sterling as a 5th mid with decent fixtures.
Open Controls -
Just found out about it but I'm most likely holding if it's only a couple of weeks.
Open Controls -
Probably selling and hoping that Tevez starts
Open Controls -
I got rid, doesn't take much for my trigger finger to pull haha! Got in Ba. Which possibly will end up being a keeper, he's set to hit 8.0 overnight.....was gonna do it next week instead tho and avoid the hit!
Open Controls
-
Sad news about Berba, really want him to kick on. On the plus side, makes my worry about how to get him in next week a moo point!
Team good to go? Save my FT?
Begovic
Cuellar Saylor Baines
Hazard Cazorla Nolan Pienaar
Tevez Fletcher (vc) RVP (c)
Foster Guthrie Ridgewell DemelOpen Controls -
SuperDunny
Agreed mate Suarez will be a brilliant pick for the next 3 games I reckonOpen Controls-
Yep. Just got to decide whether to sell Berbatov or Tevez now!
Open Controls-
Trcky depends on your team I suppose. Another + not having RVP is no cheap bench filler in my front 8. I can keep Berbatov and have a nice differential when he returns for AVL, rea.
Open Controls -
Surely Berbatov?
Yes, Tevez is a rotation risk, but I'd expect him to start at least one of the next 2 and have a sub appearance in the other - better than what Berbatov is going to get (assuming Jol isn't telling lies)Open Controls
-
-
so with the tevez / aguero status going on
a) aguero + s.taylor
or
b) tevez + baines?
thanksOpen Controls -
Anyone Playing kaca this week against city?!
Open Controls -
Go home Tiger
Open Controls -
I'm debating whether to semi rip up my WC team after the berba news, to try and optimise my assets, or just buy a place sitter for him for the next couple and hope that he isn't out for any longer. Thoughts?
Is Walters worth considering if you will just play him in home games? I see he has played 90 mins of every game, even since owen has arrived.Open Controls-
Better options around that price range imo
Open Controls

As an aside from all the striker fretting, does my accumulator look good?
Arsenal - Draw
Everton - Win
Reading - Lose
Sunderland - Win
£2 @ 23.55Open Controls-
No, Arsenal will win 😎
Open Controls -
If you stick a banker in there as well, then Paddy Power are refunding 5-team accys if just one lets you down. OK, it's only £2, but still...
Open Controls -
Yep. I'd place a fiver on Everton/Newcastle/Sunderland just to safeguard against the Arsenal result - the big games can serve up anything, people are expecting a tight game - an early goal could lead to a 3-2 sort of scoreline.

JackOff mentioned Pardew playing Tiote and Anita in midfield. Wouldn't that be too defensive mate? I doubt either can fill in that CAM role other than Ben Arfa.
Asking as a concerned owner of 3 Newcastle players.Open Controls-
I wouldn't expect them to play together in a two man midfield. Our first 11 will eventually have tiote, anita and cabeye as a 3. If they play centre mid, i would expect it would be with a CAM. Maybe Vuckic? Or maybe just jonas. Or barfa in a free role
Open Controls-
Could see it being Jonas for sure. He has played there a good few times recently.
Open Controls -
Remember this guy is a Newcastle fan, but he also got Marveaux in his side 😉
Open Controls-
you can never have too much Marveaux. China Mag loves him so much I sold him mine and bought a shiny new Ramirez instead
Open Controls
-
-
Anita can fulfill the box to box midfield role, seen him make loads of surging runs as well as scoring some goals, a skillful player
Open Controls -
Well they are away from home, and it's not as if Cabaye is an "attacking midfielder"
I was just guessing a team that could happen with HBA on the wing, I actually haven't a clue how they will line up.Open Controls
-
Anichebe a doubt.. Jelavic "may" be fit. Looks like Fellaini may play striker 🙂
Open Controls-
atleast surely in the hole.. my captain 😉
Open Controls-
He was going to be in the hole anyway, he has played in the hole in the last 10+ PL games, and the only time he didn't was 45 minutes vs Leeds in the Milk Cup.
Open Controls
-
-
Jelly is fine
Open Controls -
How "may" did it sound on Jelavic? Thinking of bringing him in on my WC rather than Berba
Open Controls-
check the scout tweets. Jelly looks to be fine. Moyes says he wanted to rest him v Leeds, but that the run-out may have helped as it allowed the injury to settle.

woods is playing his typical foursomes game and I fecking love every moment of it... scumbag of a man... don't care about his womanizing... his whole demeanour pisses me off... walking around the place spitting and refusing to sign an autograph... a hole
Open Controls-
The Yanks pathetic little boo's also a touch annoying.
Open Controls-
expect nothing less... will only get worse... really hope we stuff them on their home patch
Open Controls

I hate yanks so much in general that I just can't watch the Ryder Cup, I get so wound up. If we are battering them going into Sunday I will stay up and watch it all, otherwise I can't bear the thought of watching them winning.
Open Controls -
Mike Tyson isn't exactly a lovely chap, but there's not many better to watch in their primes than Iron Mike or Tiger.
Open Controls-
1966... I can't argue he is / was a golfing genius... it's just when u witness him spitting and refusing kids signatures and then seeing the look on their faces... it's hard to like the man... iron mike on the other hand was actually just misunderstood and got mis directed after cus died.... robin given is the biggest bitch that ever stepped on this planet
Open Controls-
Tyson is a convicted r*pist. Whatever the whys and wherefores of what happened in that hotel room, he was convicted and that conviction has never been overturned.

Tevez to Jelly - Done
Open Controls-

Forca has him as well.
Open Controls
-
-
Doing the same tomorrow morning. 🙂
Open Controls -
You know that Jelly only "may" play tomorrow? Neither is going up/down so why not wait till tomorrow at least?
Open Controls-
Played an entire warm-up match today. Anichebe and Mirallas doubts too.
Open Controls -
because I am out overnight and so won't be able to get on tomorrow before deadline, so I needed to do my transfer today
Open Controls-
Fair enough. Just after the Berbs debacle taking early transfers can be very risky. Good luck with it!
Open Controls-
normally I don't like doing it. I would only do it when
a) I can't get on Saturday morning
b) Waiting will price a player out of reach or place future transfers out of reach.
I agree wherever possible it's best to wait.Open Controls-
I'm being abit hypocritical tbh, as I transfered in Fellaini last Saturday, as I wanted to catch his 0.3 price rise this week. I didn't enjoy watching the mid-week game and it isn't something I wouldn't normally do, as the risks are high.
Just as we have only a day to go, waiting till tomorrow (if you could...) with no price rises on the horizon, would be better.Open Controls

im itchin to do this .....
Open Controls

Begovic
Baines Jenkinson Cuellar
Hazard Pieenar Noble BenArfa Guthrie
Tevez RvP(c)
Subs: Jaas Graham Clyne Hughes
No transfers made. Thinking of doing Tevez -> Aguero but not sure. Any thoughts? 2 transfers would be great to do a double change next week though!Open Controls-
Nice team. Save it till next week for that added transfer flexibility.
Open Controls
-
-
who is your captain this week?
Open Controls -
15.2 m need two strikers. Any suggesitions?
Open Controls -
Anyone (C) Ben Arfa this weekend? Did it twice this season with 8(*2) + 9(*2) as a result. But I also have RVP and Baines, so maybe it's madness..
Open Controls -
So 'they say' Berbatov 2 weeks, yet Jol said they weren't going to risk him against City... that to me shouts out they could start him, but would prefer to leave him out this 1 game.
I can see him being back for Southampton.Open Controls-
would you start him this week, just in case and then just let auto-subs kick in?
Open Controls-
I am.
Open Controls -
-
-
I think you're clutching at straws. If it was one week why say two? I'm keeping him though. Back for AVL, rea
Open Controls -
LOL Cabbage, that is hilarious. Kind of sums up the general mentality of users on this site.
"IF IT EFFECTS MY TEAM, THEN IT ISN'T HAPPENING!"Open Controls-
Don't come on then. Simple.
Open Controls -
Haha good call. We certainly do come up with some wacky, convoluted theories on here.
Open Controls -
You're a twat sometimes, but this is true.
Open Controls -
Anyone got the link to Needlevor's dating profile 😀
Open Controls -
Aren't you a user on this site? So really you're laughing at yourself?
First sign of madness that mate. Well, that and supporting Stoke (which also leads to chronic neck pains having to follow the ball high in the air for 90 mins....)Open Controls

Which is better, have the money to do one or the other:
Tevez & RVP
OR
Rooney & AgueroOpen Controls -
A) Dyer
Or
B) Pienaar (-4)
Will be takin noble out for pienaar in B) for a hitOpen Controls-
Pienaar, should easily make up those 4 points in the next few weeks
Open Controls

The 'Tevez out' hysteria seems to be dying down. Well done all those who weathered it.
Open Controls -
Thoughts on which transfer would be best?
A.) Berba -> Fletcher
B.) Miyaichi -> Sterling
Also have injuries to Ridgewell, Cuellar & FedericiOpen Controls-
A

How does my WC team look? Just had to tweak it a bit after the Berba news.
Mingolet, Begovic
Baines, Jenkinson, Mcauley, Williams, O'brien
Cazorla, Yaya, Michu, Pienarr, Sterling
Van Persie, Ba, FletcherOpen Controls-
Lovely mostly. Demel over O'Brien so you have cash to upgrade Jenks to Sagna later.
Open Controls

JUST GOT ROONEY IN A PACK ON FIFA13
Open Controls-
must have lost weight
Open Controls

If Walters fit in perfectly to your rotation, so you would only play him in home games, would you consider him? Played 90 mins every game and scored 24pts
Open Controls-
Walters and Nolan rotation?

Just logged on to see the Berba news...what a shock...I feel sorry for those who got him in for a hit... :/
I guess the guy hasn't played full matches for a while now and might be a bit rusty. What a shame, I was going to bring him in next week...Rodallega anyone?Open Controls -
Quick subs sense check please! Correct order?
Maloney (sun), Demel (qpr), Gorkss (NEW).
Also, does Boyce (sun)'s attacking threat put him ahead of either Demel or Gorkss for this GW?
Thanks!Open Controls -
Foster, surely he won't rise tonight? I plan on bringing him for next week. Will absorb the rise if needs be as I don't need him this week, but it'd be nice to get him at 5.1 anyway (since I buggered by not having him from the off)
Open Controls -
Noble , Maloney, Clyne and Demel.
Play Noble and Maloney right?Open Controls
