Sunday brings the curtain down on Gameweek 8 with two fixtures, headlined by this afternoon’s Tyne-Wear derby. With three red cards in the last four encounters, this should be a tasty affair, even though Lee Cattermole is out of harm’s way through suspension. Following that, attention turns to Loftus Road, where in-form Everton test the mettle of basement dwellers QPR.

There should be plenty on offer for Fantasy managers with the likes of Demba Ba, Steven Fletcher, Leighton Baines and Steven Pienaar in action, then. Our Dugout Discussion chatroom is now open to catch your reaction as the day unfolds.

The team news is in from the Stadium of Light and is as follows:

Mignolet, Gardner, Rose, O’Shea, Cuellar, Colback, Larsson, Johnson, McClean, Sessegnon, Fletcher.

Sunderland are unchanged from their Gameweek 7 loss to City, though Phil Bardsley makes the bench for the first time this term.

Krul; Simpson, Williamson, Coloccini, Santon; Ben Arfa, Cabaye, Tiote, Gutierrez; Ameobi, Ba

Alan Pardew makes four personnel changes from the side that lost to United in Gameweek 7. Tim Krul, Danny Simpson and Fabricio Coloccini all return from injury, while Shola Ameobi replaces the below-par Papiss Cisse up top. Mike Williamson keeps his place at centre-half, with Steven Taylor handed a bench role.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Premier League @premierleague

ASSIST John O'Shea's flick means that he is officially credited for an assist, with the goal going down as a Demba Ba own goal. #SUNNEW

      sums up my luck....
I momentarily thought O Shea had scored coming off my bench and getting 6 for the goal.
Then realised it was just an assist, so 3 points for him and Ba gets an OG so -2 for him.
Net points for my team +1.
      Typical!

I think for the opening games, no Tiote and Cabaye was massive. Now they're back though so, search me. Problem over a season for them will be a paper thin squad (talent wise). Either one of Cabaye and Tiote out they fall apart.

He just signed a new deal, is our captain and best player so it would take a massive offer. I doubt Newcastle would even listen to anything under £20m, and most probably wouldn't pay that.

      Innit, Tang.

I was sort of hoping one of Tevez/RVP would fail this week - so I could happily use the money for some much needed upgrades elsewhere - but again Tevez proves his worth! Ticking over and still the best way into City. Great shout preseason

I'm still looking at it too. It's the upgrade it allows you in midfield that is enticing. But Tevez is still the right way into City, selection + price. And their fixtures look great now. Surely we can't sell before a home game vs. Swansea?? Having said that, the first sniff I get of a rest and I'll be wanting out.

Berbatov was my automatic go-to replacement - but a blank home against Villa - at the start of a not amazing run of fixtures has coolled my interest
