Gameweek 8 saw a handful of the key Fantasy targets produce some of their best performances of the season. Our members area is brimming with statistics to help piece together the story behind them but, as always, here’s our summary of just some of the figures that leap out.

I need a defender! Current back line is:
Begovic Foster
Baines Demel Rafael Cuellar Jenkinson
Got £5.6m to spend on Rafa replacement and the likely candidates are: Santon, Wilson, Huth & Gallas. What ya reckon? Any others to consider?Open Controls-
Riise? I'd probably get Huth simply for Stoke's fixtures and the fact he's due!
Open Controls-
Don't like Fulhams fixtures enough
Open Controls
-
-
Either Wilson or Huth. I think Huth edges it with his goal threat.
Open Controls -
Why are you selling Rafa?
Open Controls-
Because i need the money to get Aguero!
Open Controls
-
-
-
I think this is what i'm likely to do. 3 of the next 4 at St James's against weak opposition
Open Controls
-
-
Wouldn't consider a double on Stoke's defence. The risk is high, but I guess high risk comes with high rewards, considering Stoke's got some nice fixtures coming up. It's a fair bet to do so. 🙂
Open Controls-
I think so too... although Wilson's value is screaming out to me
Open Controls-
If you do ship him in, it definitely means only for the short term so you probably will have to prepare a hit if in any case you come across a situation where you have pressing matters to deal with by that time of the period.
Open Controls-
What?
Open Controls-
😆 What I mean is, a double on Stoke's defence is only temporary and at some point in the future, you need to rid at least one of them.
Open Controls-
Oh ok i get ya 🙂
Yes i agree and doubling up is not something i'm really keen on. I'll probably opt for Santon or ColoOpen Controls

Worst week ever.
Went from 28K overall to 80K overall. 33 points with 4 point hit.Open Controls-
Ouch that is a big fall. I also fell 57K to 89K with 39 pts. I presume you didn't have RVP.
Open Controls -
Ouch.. feel you pain mate. Must have (C) carzola or berba huh?
Open Controls-
Moved out Graham before deadline for Giroud, told myself go for it and put the armband on him. Not that it would have ended up mattering since second choice was Berba, though earlier in the week it was on Michu...

Thanks "Snake Juice" for the NBA discussion. Mindset is right now for the draft.

Random fact: I visited my aunt a few hours ago. She had a new dog. His name: MICHU. Hahahaha
Open Controls-
-
She doesn't even watch footy! She named him that because her baby kept saying it. She found the sound so weird. Hahahaha
Open Controls

Tevez, fit and not suspended, top forward in the game, 3rd player overall. price drops. Amazing.
Open Controls -
sorry lads prob asked 100 times but is pienaar ban 1 game or 3??
Open Controls -
Taraabt is practically out of position with tasty fixtures coming his way, michu out for taraabt seems sensible. Can finally upgrade Davies which I'm sure everyone agreed didn't pay off as a major coup!
Open Controls-
Agreed on Davies. Happy i didn't jump on the bandwagon for that. Taraabt is your best shot in a QPR player that could deliver but surely he is going to be a 4th/5th choice right?

Hi deadzoners, I have mostly been lurking, but my experience is that when you do drastic changes ie 4/8 point hits you very rarely have a good week, just had my best week after a week draught just doing Fellaini -> Nolan even though I don’t rate him as a player. Finished 30xx last year, but having a hard time this year because every time I drink i make rash desicions. This is not a game for rash desicions.
Open Controls-
Depends. i have my fair share of crazy moves that paid off and heard from others making crazy moves

24.2m for 3 strikers. No manchester allowed.
I'm thinking Ba, Jelavic, Crouch. (0.7m left over)
What do you reckon?Open Controls-
Would get berba as my 3rd striker. But put off by his blank in an easy home fixture, and poor away fixtures coming up
Open Controls-
I also had my eyes on Crouch for my 3rd striker.
But I am keen to get Rooney for Lambert. Will just wait for CL and then decide.
Rooney in form can destroy any team so am inclined towards him.Open Controls
-
-
-
I think thats harsh considering Crouch is in the form of his life and that being against tough opposition. With good fixtures ahead I would expect he will do well. He is the main man for Stoke. I guess in much the same way Fletcher is for Sunderland, except Stoke are creating more chances (who would have believed that at the start of the season 😕 ) and they have form and fixtures on their side.
Open Controls
-
Wouldn't you need at least a big hitter dude from one of the Manchesters?
Open Controls-
The strategy I am trying out involves bypassing manchester strikers for cheaper, nailed on options.
Open Controls
-
-
I will say Ba, Crouch, Berba. I feel that Pienaar and/or Baines is enough Everton cover.
Open Controls-
I have no problem trebling up on teams with delicious fixtures.
Open Controls
-
Are you particularly anti-Manchester players for a reason or is it just merely strategic?
Open Controls

Can we expect one of Demel or Clark to start next week?
Open Controls-
Gosh, tell me about it. I hope the two of them fit up by next week. Already got a suspended Pienaar and both injured on the bench, don't want to add more casualties onto it. If Clark does declare fit at some point over the next few days, I would start him over a certain Fonte vs Spurs at home. We all know the Saints are always going to concede.
Open Controls-
Yeah I'd rather not play Davies(mci). Hopefully one of Demel or Clark will be fit. If not it means I should spend my 2nd FT on getting a Stoke defender in instead of selling Michu for Mata.
Open Controls-
Looks decent. If Stoke haven't got any sweet fixtures coming up, just as much as everybody here, I wouldn't advise a double Stoke defence since you already have Begovic. Would it be for a short term only if you do get another one?
Open Controls-
Fair call that. In hindsight its probably still better to sell Michu for Mata and just play Davies.
Open Controls-
Yep. Team value comes into play here. Michu will probably drop again as his fixtures toughen. Would be happy to pick him up again if it's close to his season starting price. 😆
Till then, Mata vs MUN is more optimistic than MCI vs Michu.Open Controls

Could do with Demel back-my ubers are taking a battering. Not so bad though when there are few cs in a gwk.
Open Controls

Berba seems the popular choice for a 3rd striker. Did he still look dangerous at the weekend, despite his 2 pointer?
Open Controls-
It seemed like about 5/6 Fulham players had 3/4 shots each. I suppose that reflects the fact they played 3 natural strikers with Rodallege pushed wide I think. Either Villa were hard to break down or Fulham were just wasteful...I don't know really.
Post International break games can be surprising...there is a lot of things that might affect overall performances and Berba was just back from an injury. Perhaps it just wasnt the day to explode.Open Controls
-
I'm decided michu is going. He scored some decent points, earned some money but his fixtures are just going to turn to low scores, every time Swansea lost he produced nothing which were against more established teams (eve villa stoke) with the odd booking. The big teams will beat Swansea. The only problem in Southampton in gwk 11....
Open Controls -
is hazard and mata overkill regardless of fixtures... no other Chelsea cover.

Perhaps a brief but interesting read...Open Controls -
Jafa were you planning on selling Michu for Mata? I have the same decision to make and to be honest I really struggling to make the jump. This is compounded by the fact that I'm a United fan and don't expect Chelsea or Mata to do well against them this weekend. Then again I don't expect much from Michu against Citeh either.
Open Controls-
Can't let your loyalties get in the way of FPL choices if you want to maximise points. Well actually you can but it's not being very objective about the game itself.
Open Controls -
I'd intended to bring in Mata this week because I just take the view that Bale, Cazorla and Mata play for top teams that are going to continue winning.
Taking Micchu wasn't easy for me either but if you go through a thought process that involves harder fixtures, 4 yellow cards, plays in a weak team, etc, it becomes a little clearer.
I do think Micchu will continue to score well and I'll probably return to him at some point in the season.Open Controls-
Fair call. Hopefully his form and price will drop during these tough fixtures. Although with him playing OOP it does put a real spanner in the works. It would have been an easy decision if it wasn't for that. Perhaps Graham will return to the starting lineup at some point?
Open Controls-
No idea. From what I heard at the w/end, things don't sound too good at SWN either. The City game will be a very hard game for them I feel.
What do you make of 9k taking out Tevez?Open Controls-
He has been dropping for a while now despite consistent returns. I think there is too much pressure from other strikers who are doing well and to add to that I'm starting to feel the threat of rotation will start to affect Tevez. Assists from set pieces aren't enough to stay in the lineup imo. Dzeko and Aguero would be my pick for starters. Both Belotelli and Tevez have dropped in form.
I still want a City striker in my team but its hard to look past RVP, Ba, & BerbOpen Controls-
Tevez has been racking up bonus points though - another two today. He has to be the best bet for the League games.
Yeah, if Berb starts scoring now, a front three of RVP, Berb and Tevez looks a sure thang.Open Controls

Hey guys, I didnt watch QPRs game and just wondering how Cesar landed that assist? Did he actually play outfield or was it just a GK assist?
Open Controls-
I remember him punching the ball out i think, Hoilett picked it up and dribbled all the way to goal.
Open Controls -
He played up front alongside Zamora for the first half. Put in a strong performance with some shots and his assist for Hoilett was a lovely little lay off at the back post. He reverted back to goalkeeping duties in the second and was unlucky with the own goal. It helps to have a versatile player like that and he having an OOP goalkeeper at that price is a bargain.
Open Controls-
Mataunreal- Very good! Be careful though, dont underestimate how stupid some people are on here!

Morning everyone!! Would love your suggestions on this one.
Michu/Pienaar + Rangel ➡ ? For 12.1 million.Open Controls-
Keep Michu and Pienaar. If not, Michu to Mata and Rangel to Riise. 🙂

Please help suggest my transfer plan!! This upcoming week gonna be hell... all my player clash against each other... 🙁
Begovic Foster
Baines Davies GJ Demel Cuellar
McClean Cazorla Michu Morrison Guthrie
RVP Suarez Fletcher..
1FT, 1.7 in bank.
What should i do for this week?? i feel like i need mancity cover but donno who to get? or should i get in some Stoke/Newcastle due to great fixture for the next couple week...
Thanks in advance!Open Controls -
Woke up this morning, don't believe what I saw,
Peanut red card, Demba own goal, really f**ked up my score!Open Controls-
At least didnt waje up to see your goalkeeper get an assist and an own goal...
Open Controls

Thinking Michu and Suarez to Walters and Tevez/Aguero.
What do you think? Would you get tevez or aguero. I feel aguero will get more points if they played equal minutes, but tevez has played more recently (due a rest?) and hes a fair chunk cheaper!Open Controls -
Cheers for all you're help people. I have come to the conclusion that it is just as important to sell players at the right time as well as buy players at the right time. Michu --> Mata done!
Open Controls -
-
Yaya Toure of Manchester City, anybody reckons he's due returns next GW against a leaky Swans? I expect a similar scoreline as how they started last season. 🙂
Open Controls-
Think recently been reverting to a little deeper but a good way into the man city team and will get goals eventually.
On another note, why are people making transfers now with a whole load of European games midweek and potential injuries? DaftOpen Controls-
Team value, mate. A risk, yes, but probably a necessary one. 😆
Open Controls-
Only excusable if you have exactly the rght amount of cash for a transfer. Just to make money is way too risky. The player you bring in eg Mata cld easy get injured as could any player in your team already and then u gotta take a hit
Open Controls-
i will be very happy if mata get injured, can see he scoring good points against Man Utd's leaky defense

How do i drop 20k places with 48pts(-4) 😯
Ps not like I'm highly ranked... I'm 320k!!Open Controls-
It's tough up there, Aqua. Last time I checked, there was one point separating 40,000 teams.
Open Controls-
Youre speaking like "up there" as if I'm doing well 😆
Open Controls

Strange.
I got 52 (-4) and went up 13k places.Open Controls-
68 points and up by 150k 🙂

Aqua, I am about same rank. Got 53 (-4), rank went up 30k.
Open Controls

just a caution for those swapping out michu to anyone... the champions league games next week. you would hate for one of your squad to get injured and youve already pulled the trigger on a transfer that you can easily sit on for a few days.
Open Controls-
It's a risk but another Mata price hike and I wouldn't have been to afford him.
Open Controls-
Jaf, thats the only time to do it, when you at 0.0 and and any rise/fall ruins a move. sOme on here though do to make a .1 rise!

Hazza, totally agree. See the the Berba situation the other week! Lol
