Mark

Marouane Fellaini has a “good chance” of making Sunday’s Merseyside derby according to David Moyes. Pepe Reina is back in training following his recent hamstring problem and is expected to return between the sticks for Liverpool. Shinji Kagawa is ruled out for three to four with a twisted knee as Sir Alex Ferguson mulls over his plentiful options up front.

Frank Lampard won’t be turning out for Chelsea on Sunday; he’s been ruled out for a fortnight with a calf injury by Roberto Di Matteo earlier today. Meanwhile, Roberto Mancini hopes to calm the crisis talk with a win over Swansea – he’ll be without both David Silva and Pablo Zabaleta through hamstring injuries but rotation is expected nonetheless.

All this and more has been collected, collated and served in bite-size format, along with our predicted lineups, over in our team news section.

We’ll continue the updates up until the eleventh hour, with tomorrow’s Pre-Match preamble offering the teamsheet views from the press.

As always, keep an eye on our Twitter feed for the very latest.

I'd stick with Michu. He's playing as the lone forward now. Stoke don't score enough goals or get PK's for Walters to do much. Go with Lallana if you need to free up funds, I guess.

Small, quick question lads:

A) Pienaar > Walters this week for free and get Jelavic for Everton cover the following week
B) Save transfer and play Bale, Cazorla, Michu, Sterling

(PS: Trailing my ML by 30 points, leaders have all sold Pienaar for god knows who) Cheers! 😀

So its basically Walters and Jelavic or Pienaar and Giroud - I'm assuming you'd take Giroud out to get Jelavic in.

Jelavic and Walters looks a far better combo to me......

Aatish, I love your Ba stat on the previous page...

Now I'm going to return the favour for all prospective Bale captainers...

Spurs haven't scored at the St Mary's in their past 4 meetings there, and Soton have won 6 of the past 8 meeting between the two teams...

Granted, the last league game was in 2005... 😉

FECK - sorry post fail.

I have 2FT and am considering dropping 2 or 3 of :-

Michu*
Routledge
Sahin*
RVP
Vermaelen*

Vermaelen too expensive/bad returns
RVP expensive….

Thinking of bringing in poss:-

Caulker*
Wilson
Berbatov
Holt
Walters*
Bale
Mata*

The asterisks show what I have up on screen right this second for -4…

Any thoughts?

I agree but to get a better MF its either him, RVP or Tevez that has to go....

Also look at QPRs away form - DLLL 1-1, 3-1, 2-1, 3-2 including Citeh and Spors....

Take out Pienaar and Sahin for Morisson and Walters.

Morisson and Walters because they play just off the front man and Pienaar out because you already have Jelavic.

I'd keep Vermaelen for this week.

How comes City's squad is so small. Only 9 m/fs of which 4 are currently OOA.

Swansea & Villa both have 14 m/fs,

Seems like the wrong way round when you take into account, cash available......just don't get current squad sizes, thought there was a limit...

Hard to know Man c lineup but you would imagine Mancini would be fairly unhappy after losing to Ajak

Tevez hasnt played in most of those euro disasters , so he should be sure to start . Dzeko who was mouthing off that he is better than a super sub , proved he is nothing but a super sub

I have Aguero and Tevez down as the most likely starters by far. And that is good for them. That means goals.

But once again I see Tevez playing a supporting role to Aguero and getting more assists than goals.

It's a clear trend that can even be seen from last year when they played together.

Depends what we mean by MF. As CAM in a 4-2-3-1 totally yeah. As CAM in a 3-4-1-2 possibly, yeah, although that would mean one of Dzeko and Balo would have to start.

Also, another reason not to get Richards this week:

"Richards claimed Mancini's decision to switch from 4-4-2 during the Champions League defeat at Ajax killed City's chances of claiming victory.

But Mancini said: "If you are a top player it is not important what system you use.
"If you don't understand a system like that, you cannot play for a top team." "

OUCH

They might not need one of they go 3-5-2, which Mancini has just defended. They'd just need 3 CBs then which they have.

Long term it makes me wonder if Richards is putting his foot in mouth and harming his chances of being a regular starter.

  Haha, Mancini makes me laugh
Howe about: if you cant explain a system like that to your players, you shouldnt be managing a top team

Or: if you wait for a crucial away game in Europe to start experimenting with unfamiliar systems you shouldn't be managing a top team.

The man is an idiot. With all that money he got lucky by winning the worst PL ever, on;y beating an average United side on goal difference in a year when Chelsea didn't challenge.
For all that a 3-1 defeat at Ajax is appalling and to blame the players is a disgrace....

Lateriser I just remembered why I wasn't considering Richards this week. He played 90 in the CL defeat to Ajax. Got to fancy Kol over him to play as he only subbed on for 20.
