Fantasy managers have this afternoon been given notice of another double Gameweek to prepare after Sunderland confirmed the date for their rearranged home clash with Reading. Initially scheduled for Gameweek 2, the clash was called off due to a waterlogged pitch but has now been rescheduled for Tuesday December 11 – presumably affording both clubs a pair of fixtures in Gameweek 16.

Sunderland will now welcome Chelsea and Reading to the Stadium of Light in the Gameweek, while the Royals also have a trip to Southampton on their agenda. Although the Black Cats have been disastrous in front of goal in recent weeks, their backline has impressed at home – just two goals have been conceded in three matches in front of their own fans. Simon Mignolet and Carlos Cuellar (priced at 5.0 and 4.5 in Fantasy Premier League) are likely to garner extra attention, then, though with United, City and Spurs as three of their following four opponents, stocking up on the likes of Steven Fletcher could be a risky tactic. Martin O’Neill’s men do face a trip to QPR in Gameweek 15 and a trip to Southampton in Gameweek 18, perhaps making Fletcher that little bit more enticing.

For Reading, without a single clean sheet this season, investment at the back looks a risky option. Brian McDermott’s men have, however, seen an upturn in attacking output since rolling out a 4-4-2; they have scored seven goals in the previous three matches they have used this formation. Recent Watchlist candidate Jobi McAnuff, who has assisted five of his side’s 11 goals, will surely be earmarked by many; coming in at 5.1 in Fantasy Premier League, the winger looks a real contender, while Pavel Pogrebnyak (now down to 4.7 in FPL) is the only forward to start every game for McDermott’s side so far.

Reading do, however, face United at home in Gameweek 15 and then play Arsenal and City in the two Gameweeks immediately after the double, suggesting any over-investment in their assets could be come at a cost.

    Team this week:

    Foster

    Baines Rafael Cuellar

    Bale Mata Peanut Nolan

    RVP Tevez Defoe

    Bench: Jenkinson Demel Guthrie

0 FT, should i do Jenkinson --> Nelsen for 4p hit? (Nelsen will be on the bench anyway)
I know it looks stupid but I will take some hits in my plan next GWs, so considering take hit ealier this week to mase sure i can field 11 players this week.

    Team is currently:

    Foster Begovic
    Gorkss Baines Demel Hangeland Clyne
Cazorla Bale Michu Ben Arfa Pienaar
    Tevez Fletcher Ba

    1.5m in bank.

Im thinking of the following transfers:

    Fletcher to RVP

    Ben Afra to McAnuff

    Pienaar to Sterling

    Hangeland to Hughes

For a 12 point hit. Is it worth it?

Never make your transfers early, I did Caz to Mata and Lambert to Crouch early. These are decent transfers I thought but now Ba is almost definietly out, Mata is a doubt, Jenkinso has lost his place, Demel is out and El Ahmadi is out also. I can now only field 10 players unless Ba is fit, I so hope he is but really doubt it.

Yeh the trouble is that so many bloody people do transfers early that you have to do the same to stay in the game cash wise........which of course makes you do the same and makes the problem worse.

If only everyone could somehow adhere to a friday 'transfer day'

Last year, it seemed tripling up on teams was a great idea, but I just can't see any team worth tripling up on this year except maybe United/Chelsea. Defence seems to be crappy this year. For Chelsea, I only see Ivan/Mata/Hazard worth owning (Torres not his full self and rotation elsewhere is too risky). For United the only ones I see are Rafael/Valencia/Rooney/RVP (like last year similarly). City not doing the business, nor is Arsenal, Spurs or Pool.

That double doesn’t look too great. Thing is, with no standout captain option I guess it will be Fletcher for everyone.. If Sunderland start to shoot at goal that is.

I might just avoid it, I've already got Cuellar but might just leave it at that. I don't want any other Sunderland or Reading players, and it becomes more hassle than it's worth for what will likely be just another 2 points.

if I start with three strikers (so no striker subs) and Demba Ba does NOT end up playing, will they automatically switch my formation and sub in a midfielder for him?

Or do the automatic substitutions only work for players of the same position? In other words, they will NOT change your formation for you to accommodate the auto subs.

Yes your first choice bench player will be switched in for him. This is always the case, unless you have three defenders playing for example, and one of them doesn't play, in which case the next defender on the bench comes in, as the game doesn't allow you to play with less than 3 in defence.

yes that's right they'll sub your 1st sub in for him, if this is a mid then the mid will be subbed in for him, unless you are already playing 5 mids of course.

    Begovic (Cerny)
    Lescott Ivan McAuley (Clyne, Demel)
Bale (c) Sterling Hazard Pienaar (Michu)
    Ba Fletcher Tevez (v)

Strong team this week considering fixtures, but feel like now is a crucial time to double up on Chelsea (Mata and Hazard) and have RVP in. Should I make transfers or wait until next week when I have 2FT? 1.7 in the bank.

Weak links are Lescott, McAuley, Fletcher but willing to get rid of Michu and Ba too to make way.

Rest of the team is stronger surely?

Sterling's Newcastle at home or Pienaar's Fulham away is probably the hardest fixture of the others, Lots of easy fixtures in my team this week.

Can anyone explain why Pienaar hasn't moved up or down in NTI on Fiso since the weekend? Something to do with his suspension?

All Pienaar owners made an agreement that if they want to sell him they must find another person willing to buy him.

Tbh we could have a treble gameweek and I still wouldn't invest in our players. Maybe Mignolet for the save points lol

The question on the lips of every single one of the 1000's of Hazard owners

I'm sticking for now and praying that the 120mins against Utd is going to hinder his scoring and boost Hazards scoring potential. Doubt it though......

I think I've been playing too long; I've seen it all and I'm haunted by the memory of the Fabregases of seasons past. Man is only supposed ot play fantasy football for so long. After that you're constantly trapped in a never ending maze of previous season's events from which you can never escape.

I need Rooney not too rise this week !!

..... So I can do Defoe ----> Rooney
And vertonghen ----> Evans next week (free transfers)

Rooney is currently on +42% (with fisco)
What's the chances of him rising before the game week
    starts ??

I prefer the 1st team in all honesty. Tripling up on any DF is too much imo and buying Fletcher at a time when Sunderland are struggling to even muster a shot these days is folly. Then all of this for a -8pter...........No way

Unless you think Sunderland won't score another goal all season why is getting Fletcher folly?

He's liable to score most of Sunderland's goals. Decent fixtures ahead too. I'm thinking of getting him in on my WC now as it will allow me to keep Danti instead of Giroud.
