Cityโ€™s unbeaten run stretches to 10 games but their toils in front of goal continue, with a goalless draw at Upton Park. Sergio Aguero is handed a sub role yet again, while Andy Carroll draws yet another blank for the hosts:

On the Up

City Defence
This eveningโ€™s goalless draw maintained the championsโ€™ recent upturn in defensive resilience. Itโ€™s three clean sheets and just one goal conceded in the last four Gameweeks now for Roberto Manciniโ€™s men โ€“ the likes of Chelsea and United have one clean sheet apiece in the last six, by comparison.

West Ham Defence
A first clean sheet in six was just rewards for the home sideโ€™s resilient efforts. Sam Allardyce will be buoyed by his teamโ€™s ability to nullify Cityโ€™s threat but with Guy Demel still sidelined and James Tomkins missing out through injury, the Hammers boss will be hoping James Collins can shake off a knock which forced him off towards the end, given their upcoming schedule.

Going Down

Sergio Aguero
With a vital Champions League game against Ajax in midweek, Aguero was benched yet again for this eveningโ€™s trip to Upton Park. Roberto Mancini started with three of his four forwards and while the Argentine was afforded some game time late on, he has now been omitted from the City first XI in three of the past four Gameweeks – despite his obvious capabilities, Aguero has simply become far too frustrating a Fantasy option right now, with his managerโ€™s up front rotation dramatically curtailing his appeal.

Andy Carroll
His loan move to West Ham, which saw the towering centre-forward reunited with Sam Allardyce, was hailed as the perfect fit. The Hammersโ€™ tactics seemed tailor-made for Carroll, with delivery from wide guaranteed to create chances aplenty in the air but it hasnโ€™t quite transpired as Allardyce would have hoped. Another blank today means Carroll has just one assist in six appearances since making his way to Upton Park.

Obv I need RVP or Rooney going forward given Utd's fixtures...

All my midfield have decentish runs and Kone looks a threat when I've seen him

    Carzola Hazard Walters Michu Pienaar

Hi, long time reader, first time commenter. Need a little help, what do you guys think...

A Glen Johnson, Cazorla, Kone >> Sagna, Michu, RVP

    OR

B Glen Johnson, Pienaar, Suarez >> Rafael, Michu, RVP

Two separate ways to bring Michu and RVP back into my side. The first method I have to sell Cazorla and keep Pienaar, the second route I have to sell Suarez and keep Kone. Which method is the best ??

Rooney is central to Utd's play, but his role this season will yield more assists and baps than goals. I think this trend will continue over the season. I think he could def get 20+ assists this season.

So my situation is that I'd like to do Fletch > Berb because Berba is going up in value and is looking decent value. I could alternatively get the likes of Kone/Holt and have more of a differential. But something is telling me I should make some money out of Berba...hope he does well in the tougher fixtures...then look for differentials later down the line. Odds are that the likes of Holt and Kone will remain at their respective prices...so maybe now isn't the time to buy such a risky unproven punt...as I might miss out on a bargain in Berbatov.

    Thoughts?

    Thank you.

wouldnt say 'nonexistent', he did nearly nick an assist when giroud hit the post but arsenal on the whole were poor, I thought cazorla had a reasonable game but I would have liked to see more goal/assist threat from him in the next games (and especially from the team as a whole) Basically when arsenal pick up their performances I'd be confident that caz will be involved, and decent games coming up will give them the platform for that

Just looking at Cazorla there, he's very much like Silva. Think he could be up for 7/8 goals this season and maybe 12/13 assists. Arsenal have nice fixtures coming up and he could get plenty forward if Walcott and Podolski get their crosses in

    Begovic – McCarthy
    Rafael – Baines – Nelson – McCartney – Fonte
    Pienaar – Mata – Nolan – Sterling – Bale
    RVP – Berbatov – Ba

2.4 million in bank was thinking McCartney > Sagna or Nolan > Valencia. Anyone see a better transfer?

    Some thoughts...

Wigan are a very impressive team on their day...they keep possession so confidently and I don't think you can say that about most other 'struggling against relegation' teams.

I'm thinking Berba is good for a transfer as he's on penalties...and that's quite important when it comes to strikers.

Norwich are nowhere to be seen on the watchlist for GK's or Defenders...surely this is a massive oversight? Have none of the scouts noticed how they are relentlessly defensive when not being hammered by the likes of Liverpool/Chelsea (i.e better teams they are expected to lose to).

    Pablo Hernandez looks quite good.
