Cityโ€™s unbeaten run stretches to 10 games but their toils in front of goal continue, with a goalless draw at Upton Park. Sergio Aguero is handed a sub role yet again, while Andy Carroll draws yet another blank for the hosts:

On the Up

City Defence
This eveningโ€™s goalless draw maintained the championsโ€™ recent upturn in defensive resilience. Itโ€™s three clean sheets and just one goal conceded in the last four Gameweeks now for Roberto Manciniโ€™s men โ€“ the likes of Chelsea and United have one clean sheet apiece in the last six, by comparison.

West Ham Defence
A first clean sheet in six was just rewards for the home sideโ€™s resilient efforts. Sam Allardyce will be buoyed by his teamโ€™s ability to nullify Cityโ€™s threat but with Guy Demel still sidelined and James Tomkins missing out through injury, the Hammers boss will be hoping James Collins can shake off a knock which forced him off towards the end, given their upcoming schedule.

Going Down

Sergio Aguero
With a vital Champions League game against Ajax in midweek, Aguero was benched yet again for this eveningโ€™s trip to Upton Park. Roberto Mancini started with three of his four forwards and while the Argentine was afforded some game time late on, he has now been omitted from the City first XI in three of the past four Gameweeks – despite his obvious capabilities, Aguero has simply become far too frustrating a Fantasy option right now, with his managerโ€™s up front rotation dramatically curtailing his appeal.

Andy Carroll
His loan move to West Ham, which saw the towering centre-forward reunited with Sam Allardyce, was hailed as the perfect fit. The Hammersโ€™ tactics seemed tailor-made for Carroll, with delivery from wide guaranteed to create chances aplenty in the air but it hasnโ€™t quite transpired as Allardyce would have hoped. Another blank today means Carroll has just one assist in six appearances since making his way to Upton Park.

    Said i'd look for a bit of advice seen as the nice chatty people are in tonight ๐Ÿ™‚

    Jaask Fed
    Baines Ridgewell Cuellar Cameron Demel
    Cazorla Pienaar Michu Bale Sterling
    RVP Tevez Berba

    Any obvious transfers? Early considerations are:

    Demel -> Gorkss
    Fed -> McCarthy
    Cazorla -> Mata (Yes I know theres 3 matches to play and everything could change!) ๐Ÿ˜‰

          so maybe not worth the transfer. I got Mata in last week for Caz, regret the loss of points but, think it's a wise move long term. Don't know what Arsenal are up to at the moment. Mata is looking the real deal.

      Anything in the bank?

      Caz or Bale for Mata is good.

      I bet you're like me now in that you'd love fellaini instead of pie. Long term that could be good but it seems like such a waste of a transfer, especially as fellaini's one booking away from a suspension.

          I'd def could pay off though!

      I know the year Arsenal won the double the most popular pass in the division was Viera to Bergkamp. Amazing that it beat all of the centre-back combos anywhere else in the league.

      You have to feel Caorla-Wilshere will be up there eventually though.

        Hope so, he needs to get the team around them right, Podolski isn't a winger, Ramsey isn't a winger, Santos is a useless LB, it is obvious to everyone else but him.

      This is a fun question. I have Britton because I never have to think about him. In a pinch he will always produce 2 but I will never play him on purpose. The other strategy is to have a real player, but isn't that a distraction that also takes up funds?

    Just been tinkering and for an 8 point hit I could have a front 8 of Mata, Bale,Michu,Cazorla,Fellaini,Berbs,Rvp,Ba that is a frighteningly good front 8, sure 1 would have to be benched each week, but the option is there to play either 5 in mid or 3 up front

    Current team is

    Jaask/Bego
    Baines/Davies/Hughes/Wilkinson/Gorkss
    Mata/Bale/Cazorla/Michu/Sterling
    Jelly/Rvp/Ba

    Transfers would have to be Jelly-Berbs,Sterling-Fellaini and Jaask-Cerny
    I know not having a backup keeper would be demed risky but Bego looks good till Jan, would really like some insight on this one

      See above. I think it's better to have a fifth mid that costs next to nothing and never tempts you to play him. Then you invest all your funds and strategy in those who will play. Tough when you have a disaster (Mata) but over time will produce less stress and a higher priced playing team.

        Cheers for the reply I know what your saying, Sterling is adequate as a fifth mid cheapy, sure looks tempting though when you see those front 8, the real dilemma is which you would bench each week, which would obviously then see fixtures taking precedent over form I think.
