I see some people are skeptical about the term 'coverage' I understand its all about points and not simply getting a player from each team. But see the example below
Mata, Silva*, Pienaar, Fellaini, Sterling*
RVP, Tevez*, Suarez*
Mata, Bale, Cazorla, Fellaini, Sterling
RVP, Ba, Berbatov
Both teams are roughly the same value but i'd suggest the more balanced side with more 'cover' is the better side. Eggs and Baskets come to mind. So I'd therefore suggest that the concept of 'cover' is legitimateOpen Controls-

Sterling is abit FPL irrelevant tbh. He would be on the bench most weeks.
You forget to add Fell & Piennar. Very few would triple up like this also.
You have a point covering 8 sides unless one/two sides are going really well & have great fixtures.

yeah I guess another way to put it is I'd rather have Bale + Tevez over Silva + Tevez. Kinda breaking it up like that.

Same as HBA & Ba or whoever & Ba. Teams that score big are always worth the double up in attack if you can find their main pointscorers.

I guess right now there are no standout sides who would be worth doubling up on in attack. Even at United its still not worth having anyone else other than RVP.

See I wouldn't get Valencia as I have RVP. I'd much prefer getting cover form say Arsenal and getting Walcott. This way I spread the potential to be amongst the points especially if both games are low scoring.

Team 1 will most likely score more in the weeks to come. Predict Silva to explode and Suarez is in outstanding form. Cazorla is a fantastic player but isn't converting it into fantasy points.

I can see the point to a degree. If you think 2 players are likely to score similar points at a similar price, then going for the player which you don't have one of their teammates would be the way to go, but that's about the extent of it.

It's all about will player A or player B get most points. The fact you have player C from the same side as one of them is irrelevant.

I've owned no Chelsea players all season and only Yaya from city for a few GW's and I've coped pretty nicely. Every time I post my team I get the exact same "No Chelsea/Citeh coverage will hurt you". 73 points this week 🙂 apparently not

I don't think having Suarez and Sterling is the same as having Tevez and Silva...
Having both Tevez and Silva is kinda ridiculous since they are both very pricey and will probably take points off each other...
If we look at Sterling in isolation and forget for minute that we have Suarez, can you see any better alternative for 5m, who is guaranteed 90mins in an attacking side?
Suarez is a big hitter for me now, and has great fixtures and his scoring well consistently, Sterling is merely a cheap 5th midfielder, not really the same thing IMO...
I look at it like this... front 7 should be all different teams, but the 8th is really the best you can get for that price, and Sterling fits the bill... it doesn't matter that you have Suarez...Open Controls-
I agree to an extent that Sterling is not in the same boat as he will be on the bench nearly all the time anyway. I don't have much of an arguement with you there.
However lets put it this way. I wouldn't get another United attacker if I already had RVP. Simply because they may take points off each other. Eg RVP + Valencia or RVP + Walcott. In low scoring games especially there is a much greater chance of success if your risk is more spread out.Open Controls-
Yes I agree with that example... but it all depends on how they well the teams actually score... if someone were to go that way and the team scored well throughout, it would be deemed a success, but it seems to be better planning and preparation to spread the risk...

The way I see it, having Silva back in the mid or city increases the chances for points from tevez and aguero. They don't steal points from.each other. Aguero was a must last season when Silva was dictating the show. Would not mind having Silva and tevez/aguero in my team at all after yesterday's performance

Ive pulled the trigger and bought Suarez. I did a comparison of the 2 players and the Liverpool player is off the charts. LFC have some great fixtures coming up. The toon seem to be struggling for goals this year. Upfront I have Berbalord, RVP, Suarez.
