[sbu_large_image] The Stock Check

A perfect set-piece routine that had Gary Neville purring set the Potters on their way, only for West Ham to find an unlikely source for their equaliser. Here’s the Stock Check following tonight’s muscular affair at Upton Park…

On the Up

Joey O’Brien
The former Bolton man struck his first Premier League goal to bring the Hammers back on terms as Big Sam’s men rallied for the second period. O’Brien once again lined up at right-back, leaving a fit-again Guy Demel stranded on the bench. The 4.0 prospect has started the last three league outings, earned an assist in Gameweek 11 and is now ranked second amongst West Ham’s defenders in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game. With bonus to follow, O’Brien is set to earn new suitors, although West Ham’s short-term fixtures remain a concern.

Jon Walters
A superbly worked goal reminded us of the quality that Walters has in his game but this was only his second strike of the season. Even as a 6.3 midfielder in the FPL, pushed up alongside Peter Crouch in attack, he’s been overshadowed by a gang of similar mid-price talent this term, not least Kevin Nolan in opposition tonight.

Going Down

Guy Demel and James Collins
Both have returned to fitness but have been kept on the bench for two consecutive matches by the Hammers. It seems that Collins faces a fight to earn a recall alongside Winston Reid as James Tomkins stakes his claim for regular starts. As for Demel, his prospects took a bigger dent has Joey O’Brien impressed again in the right-back berth.

Mark Noble
The booking tonight took him to four for the season, lifting him onto Anorak’s “Suspension Tightrope” and leaving him just one yellow from a one-match ban. Noble is owned by over 5% of the FPL player base.

Andy Wilkinson
The make-shift left-back limped off after 32 minutes after picking up an injury and will now presumably be an early doubt for the home clash with Fulham.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Came crashing down to earth after three incredible weeks. Got 2 FTs but not really sure what to do.

    Jaask/Begovic
    Demel/Baines/Gorkss/Davies/McAuley
    Bale/Fellaini/Sterling/Mata/Nolan
    RVP/Tevez/Berbatov

The obvious place that needs work is the defence, so was thinking McAuley > Cameron ... but what else? Help!

Soo, who would you rather have.
    Baines + Ba
    or
4.4 (wilkonson but possibly injured) + Aguero
    or
    6.0 + Tevez

    thanks 😀

Long term I think Aguero is the man to have, tough ST fixtures and if they win tomorrow night he will be rested for the dortmund match. Baines is a season keeper if you have him imo,

Yea i currently have baines +ba but think after middle december when city's fixtures lighten up and they are out of UCL will definitly be worth getting him in. Baines is a season keeper i agree, but there are only so many season keepers you can have.

    Begovic (mannone)
    rafael baines cueller (davies demel)
    michu cazorla sterling nasri (fellaini)
    rvp berba Ba

Have 1FT and 0.7m in the bank….Not sure what to do.

A:. ba + cazorla >> giroud + silva…. for a hit but then i will have both nasri and silva
    B: ba + nasri >> suarez + any mid upto 6.8 i.e. morrison…for a hit
    C: ba + nasri >> tevez + any mid upto 7.5 i.e. lennon/johnson…for a hit
    D: Nasri >>> ??? upto 8.8
    E: save the FT

I want to bring in suarez and tevez but taking out Ba doesnt make sense since they playing southampton. suarez is on 4 yellows and tevez is playing chelsea.

If i had the cash, i would have just done nasri >> silva but in order to do that now, i have to take a hit…

    thoughts??

Seems to be the first choice right back at the moment with Johnson over at left back.

But I wouldn't say he was nailed on with Enrique have a couple of good games (even though that was in midfield).

i also like owning Berbatov for the fun of making light of his lothario like qualities, fag smoking on the half way line, nonchantly chip at goal etc, getting his pipe and slippers out for a free kick and the berb is the word asides as well.

Last two Chelsea v Man City encounters have been 2-0 and 2-1 to Chelsea.

Man City did beat them 4-2 at Stamford bridge the year before, but very recent history suggests Chelsea will win and will keep Man City quiet.

in that case, I'll reveal all. Berb performs better with Rodellega and to a lesser extent Petric than when paired with Ruiz. Ruiz's injury is good news for Berb owners, especially if Rodellega is paired with him.

    Berbatov, RVP, Suarez

Is it worth getting Tevez for Berbatov? (chasing points?)

Tevez for RVP. I don't rate rvp against scrub/struggling squads; they will overplay him and hope for the best. I'm waiting cfor a derby or tougher competition to bring him in. United's midfield is too fragile for my liking.

I think its worth doing, Rooney and RVP can easily match each other at Old Trafford. Rooney seems to have the slight edge with bonus pts. Long term RVP is the man, but for an easy home game Rooney can be immense.

Yep, has crossed my mind. My defence would be so much stronger.

To compare properly, you can't just compare points from RVP and another attacker, you have to compare points from the overall combination of players you've strengthened by not having RVP.

      Same with Baines argument.

Now, Giroud is all set in that centre forward role.
Walcott can't hit headers like Giroud. However, after Giroud is subbed off, and the teams are tired, Walcott can be moved there. It'll keep everyone satisfied.
