Just as Paddy drew level, our treble came in. A goal for Luis Suarez, coupled with an assist for David Silva and a City clean sheet in the win over Villa handed us another timely windfall and put us back in the black. Our bookmaker friends in retreat, we missed out on the Flutter last weekend but it returns for the midweek menu, with Paddy looking to prise back our winnings…

First up for Wednesday’s matches, we look to a name that’s been circulating the community for the last 48-hours: Southampton’s Gaston Ramirez. He’s on many a wishlist following a goal and assist return against Newcastle, and we’re willing to back his form with a few quid. Paddy are dangling 15/2 on another Ramirez goal against Norwich, packaged with a second consecutive Southampton cleanie. Ramirez is in fashion and even the Saints back four are playing with some confidence. We’ll take Paddy’s offer for £2 of our tenner.

Sunderland’s Stephane Sessegnon is another name garnering attention following the weekend events. A potential template breaker in midfield, Sessegnon is showing glimpses of last season’s form just in time for the Black Cats’ double fixture in Gameweek 16. After a goal and assist return in the damaging defeat to West Brom, can Sessegnon find the net when Harry’s boys visit the North-East? Paddy are offering 6/1 on a Sessegnon goal with a Sunderland shut-out against QPR. Again, we’ll chuck a couple of quid at this, with Sessegnon there or thereabouts for the Picks for the Gameweek.

Villa’s Christian Benteke is another player we’ve got a lot of time for: he’s proved integral to Villa’s threat in recent weeks and is certain to trouble Reading’s faltering back line tomorrow evening. Paul Lambert’s side are far from prolific, but we fancy them to break the shackles against the Royals and, with Paddy offering 4/1 on a Benteke goal with a Villa clean sheet, we’ll take that for £3 of our hard earned.

That leaves a handsome £3 left for the treble – having won out on this the last time around, we’re going into this one with confidence. Paddy have 10/1 on a Robin Van Persie goal against West Ham, a Juan Mata assist when Chelsea face Fulham and a Stoke clean sheet against the wounded Magpies.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, then you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

I'm very close to buying him to free up funds for Suarez..shh..keep it on a low 😉

Just need to know whether he's nailed on. Lichaj was playing LB, till he got suspended. Then Stevens took over, and now Vlaar is injured, so Lichaj will play CB.

Hard to say whether he's nailed on. 🙁

What shall I do with this team chaps:

    Begovic (Foster)

    Baines, Cuellar, Cameron, (Clyne), (Demel)

    Mata, Bale, Cazorla, Sterling, (Morrison)

    RVP, Berba, Jelavic

2 FTs, £0.3 in the bank

Do I drop Baines and Jelly? If so, for who?

I think so. He talked him up in his press conference before the game and he played well. I'm going to wait and see another game first with Cahill fit too.

I haven't read the actual quote but reports seem to be imply that Cahill was only benched because he was ill. Guess that'd mean Azpi is up against Ivanovic for RB still.

Horribly out of form and injured. He has to be priority over Pienaar, surely.

Not sure I'd bring in Ramirez now, wait until after the blank. 'm not entirely convinced with Sess yet, but could be a good punt. Walcott if fit would be brilliant, and Silva is, well, Silva so should be good. I would go for Bale though.

That's what I'm leaning with as I think Tevez will get rested more than Silva, I would also be captaining the Sunderland player for their DGW aswell and I've been burnt a couple times this season captaining a midfielder so favour captaining Fletcher over Sessengon.

Newcastle were woeful and disjointed so didn't score. i don't expect a lot more out of Norwich, but I am not prepared to assume Clyne is a CS magnet yet.

RVP, Rooney and Hernandez are basically the only things standing between United and oblivion. If he plays at the top of a diamond, he'll run the show. West Ham are difficult to break down, but that shouldn't prevent you from picking him as (C). If United score 3, he's bound to assist at least 2 of those. Plus he's on pens....

    roscola's team for this week:

    Begovic
    Sagna - Baines - Cameron
Walcott - Silva - Fellaini - Mata (vc)
    Berbatov - Suarez - Van Persie (c)

    Cerny - Sterling - Davies - Gorkss

The madman in me wants to play Sterling instead of Berbs, captain Mata and do Baines > Enrique this week instead of next. I'm right to silence him, yes?

YEah. Was just thinking that if Suarez doesn't make SOUTH, then Ba is a better bet then Berba next week. But then again Ful have scored in all their home games this season and that means Berba will prob be involved. It's not as if Spurs are keeping CS.

It's tough. I can just see Ba slotting a peno's once I sell him, especially with Arfa out.

        Thanks Zlat.

From my investigations into Arsenal's defence, they are second only to City in terms of keeping the opposition out. Their problem is the errors they make - they're top of the table for that and that's what lets them down. What that means is that they're perfectly capable of shutting out anyone and will keep a fair few clean sheets.

But because the clean sheets are down to errors (or lack of them) they're very difficult to predict - could be any game. So if you have an Arsenal defender you have to play them every game to get their cleanies. That's my take.

Cheers Limpar. I think I will have an extra £2-3m over my rivals to spend in the Jan WC, which I'm hoping will pay for the points hits. So far, the bargains have performed well enough that the extra money hasn't counted for much. But I think the elite guys will start shining through soon.
