Just as Paddy drew level, our treble came in. A goal for Luis Suarez, coupled with an assist for David Silva and a City clean sheet in the win over Villa handed us another timely windfall and put us back in the black. Our bookmaker friends in retreat, we missed out on the Flutter last weekend but it returns for the midweek menu, with Paddy looking to prise back our winnings…

First up for Wednesday’s matches, we look to a name that’s been circulating the community for the last 48-hours: Southampton’s Gaston Ramirez. He’s on many a wishlist following a goal and assist return against Newcastle, and we’re willing to back his form with a few quid. Paddy are dangling 15/2 on another Ramirez goal against Norwich, packaged with a second consecutive Southampton cleanie. Ramirez is in fashion and even the Saints back four are playing with some confidence. We’ll take Paddy’s offer for £2 of our tenner.

Sunderland’s Stephane Sessegnon is another name garnering attention following the weekend events. A potential template breaker in midfield, Sessegnon is showing glimpses of last season’s form just in time for the Black Cats’ double fixture in Gameweek 16. After a goal and assist return in the damaging defeat to West Brom, can Sessegnon find the net when Harry’s boys visit the North-East? Paddy are offering 6/1 on a Sessegnon goal with a Sunderland shut-out against QPR. Again, we’ll chuck a couple of quid at this, with Sessegnon there or thereabouts for the Picks for the Gameweek.

Villa’s Christian Benteke is another player we’ve got a lot of time for: he’s proved integral to Villa’s threat in recent weeks and is certain to trouble Reading’s faltering back line tomorrow evening. Paul Lambert’s side are far from prolific, but we fancy them to break the shackles against the Royals and, with Paddy offering 4/1 on a Benteke goal with a Villa clean sheet, we’ll take that for £3 of our hard earned.

That leaves a handsome £3 left for the treble – having won out on this the last time around, we’re going into this one with confidence. Paddy have 10/1 on a Robin Van Persie goal against West Ham, a Juan Mata assist when Chelsea face Fulham and a Stoke clean sheet against the wounded Magpies.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, then you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Maybe a good idea. I sold Fletcher for Berb so I'm not really keen on going back on it so soon after. Berb being on pens appeals to me and his general involvement in everything Fulham do. It's pretty annoying fixture wise but like against Arsenal Berbatov can explode at surprising times.

Two home games against attacking-minded teams is a positive. It screams goals to me. Seriously, people are benching Berbatov against Chelsea seemingly. But did they see what he did against Arsenal away? Ok, he may deliver a 2 pointer but the potential is there!

But with regards to your transfer. Go with your gut. The fixtures are there for Fletcher to deliver and it's not an unwise punt at all.

I have Berbatov and no Sunderland cover, but I am trying to bring in Sess rather than Fletcher just so I can keep Berbatov. I think even with a couple of tough games he could still get some points. If you don't have any Sunderland cover then it might be a good idea to make this transfer, I just prefer Sess over Fletcher.

That makes sense, it's a hard decision then. I think if Berbatov had as good fixtures as Fletcher then Berbatov would be a much better option, but with Fletcher's fixtures it might be worth bringing in Fletcher and then you can always bring Berbatov back into your team later on.

@Ryan, you can't say things have permanently changed at Chelsea tactically under Rafa after ONE game. It was at home to the Champions too. How did you expect they would line up? Ultra-attacking? You can't say Mata is suddenly no use because they have a new manager can you?

The way I see it is Mata and Hazard are still worth owning if you want Chelsea attacking coverage as it's going to be one of them or Oscar/Torres doing the business. As a top 4 side I think it's silly to write off their potential just because of a 0-0 against the Champions and a new manager who is 'supposedly' quite defensive. I don't buy that. Rafa is not solely a defensive manager. Any manager in their new job with 2 days to prepare would try for a 0-0 against City (IMO)

Look what Hughton did to Norwich this season in comparison to last season. Your conclusions are simply wrong. Defensive managers do exist and it is possible to fundamentally change the way a team plays.

I am not rushing to any conclusions here. I am saying I am open to seeing more evidence and not basing my decision whether to keep Mata on one game under a new manager against the Champions.

No need to say I'm wrong about it. I'm not making any definitive statements. Hughton is a defensive manager in the sense that he knows no other tactics can work to achieve the goal of safety from relegation. This is Chelsea we are talking about. They have world class attacking players at their disposal.

It is possible that Mata could have a turn in the hole but against Citeh Rafa only used Oscar then swapped with Hazard in the second half (might be the other way around).

In terms of formation though there the fullbacks and wingers were very strict defensively and it would seem they have been given orders not to be attacking at all. In the past Oscar, Mata and Hazard switched positions a lot, that didn't happen against Citeh. I'm telling you, things have fundamentally changed at Chelsea. I know its too soon and I'm keeping Mata in case it changes but I'm not holding much hope. Mata -> Silva in the next week or two is almost inevitable for me.

Fair enough. Your call. I am just arguing for patience, not just with Mata but for having an overall perspective on things and not judging it off the back of one game.

As I said before, Mata to me is key to the Chelsea attack and he won't be playing as defensively in future in games as they need to score goals and they need him to create. If anything I'd be more worried as a Hazard owner with him being taken off early for Moses.

I'm going to be patient too but I suspect the his outlook won't be good in a few weeks. I also have a feeling Moses could see a lot more game time because he is an out and out wide player that would suit the 4411 system

The thing is, Chelsea's tactics and Mata's positioning was discussed a lot on here at the start of the season and most were blind to his ability as a result once he came back revitalised. At the end of the day, Mata has always been a key component to the Chelsea attack since he joined and has a massive success rate. You can't just jump to conclusions based on one slack game against the Champions. Mata has ripped defences to shreds at times this year, let's not forget.

Let's wait til it becomes a bigger picture before drawing absolute conclusions. If Chelsea have turned into Norwich and no longer can create chances or score goals then there's something to be worried about but let's wait and see. Good link by the way, interesting read.

Still think that Olsson 5.1 and Shorey 4.1 @9.2

Could become a couple of 4.5ers, having that you have Reading keeper already

Ok so I think I am set with my transfers for midweek: Valencia > Sess, Maloney > Ramirez 0.5 free

    Begovic
    Rafael Baines Clyne
    Bale Silva Sess Ramirez
    RVP Ba Berba

    Foster Sterling Davies Demel

I’m now thinking of waiting for Newcastle’s good fixtures to end (2 weeks) and then get in Arsenal forward cover.

    Begovic

    Baines Rafael Cuellar

    Fellaini Michu Cazorla Sterling

    Giroud Tevez RVP

I know its not the strongest team but that's what Iv got for the moment.
