A couple of midfield protagonists are set to sit on the sidelines after accruing their fifth booking of the season last weekend. Paul Scholes and Mark Noble will both miss out as West Ham travel to Old Trafford on Wednesday evening, with the latter’s absence particularly sore for his side, given he has started every league game so far for the Hammers.

The tightrope welcomes two new contenders after the weekend’s round of matches. Cheick Tiote may have been injured for much of the season but his penchant for picking up yellows remains unquenched – the Ivorian’s caution at St Mary’s yesterday take his tally to four yellows in all competitions ahead of Newcastle’s trip to Stoke on Wednesday. Wigan’s James McArthur fell foul of the ref in his side’s 3-2 win over Reading on Saturday and now balances precariously as the Latics prepare to welcome City to the DW.

Luis Suarez and Michu continue to avoid that fifth yellow which would earn them an automatic ban. With three strong home games in the next five, Suarez looks primed for significant Fantasy attention once again; his owners will be crossing their fingers he stays out of the ref’s notebook against Spurs on Wednesday, bearing in mind he then plays host to Southampton at the weekend.

Those players on four yellows have until New Year until the five-card amnesty kicks in. Basically, if they can avoid another booking in this calendar year, they will then be exempt from the customary one-match ban and receive no more than a warning regarding their future conduct. The limit then moves to 10 yellows, which would earn the guilty party a two-match ban. Most culpable so far are Ahmed El Ahmadi, Craig Gardner and Angel Rangel, who lead the way on six yellow cards apiece.

Having served out a one-match ban in Everton’s draw with Norwich, Marouane Fellaini is available for selection as the Toffees host Arsenal, while Fabricio Coloccini will be welcomed back by Alan Pardew as injury-hit Newcastle make their way to Stoke.

Brede Hangeland and Emmanuel Adebayor are both set to skip the second match of their respective three-game bans this midweek.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    14: Valencia > Puncheon, Ba > Aguero
    15: Baines > Enrique, Maloney > Walcott

    Begovic, Gazzaniga
    Rafael, Enrique, Bardsley, Gorkss, Nelsen

              The stats back Fletcher.

Sess had a fortunate tap in and the assist was for a foul won, leading to a FK goal. Not much there I'm afraid.

I have lost faith, but I was hoping to hold off doing ba -> suarez until after suarez avoids seeing yellow on wednesday.

I might go in a different direction than most and stump for Giroud. His performances seem to be coming around and with Walcott back you have to think he is a great goal threat.

      opinion:
      1) Did baines>enrique myself, but because i had mert already. My opinion: don't buy defenders for the DGW. waste of money. What's the use if they make 2+1 points total? wanna differentiate?, buy fletcher for berba. at least 2pts extra, + whatever he scores.
      2) bale/silva can wait till GW17.Hazard will not drop anymore.
      3) keep 1ft for safety. (suarez card/injuries/big opportunity next week etc.)

rooney play much deeper in away games, and it is MADNESS to ditch RVP for a hit with thi fixture.

with that said, don't come moaning when RVP didn't score good. It is your decision after all

So do we actually think Sunderland will do that well over the next three fixtures?

We've seen teams far worse than QPR tighten up and improve under a new manager, and Norwich away have seen teams far better than Sunderland go home empty handed. That leaves the double gameweek which is good for sure, even if I think they will have to get lucky to score against Chelsea. After that they have mun, sot, MCI which is rather shite.

I can fully understand defensive investment but I am very very unsure about if they can manage to score more than a goal a game or similar.

    Hi Guys,

I have the chelsea double in my midfield but with Rafa taking over I think its too much. Mata or Hazard needs to go but the question is which one?

I have 1ft for this week and would like to bring in Silva for either player. Any reasons why one should stay/go over the other?

My other 3 mids are Fellani, Bale and Sterling

      I'd do Hazard- Silva because..
      -Free's up more cash
-Mata will score more or less equal to Hazard.. it's a coin flip
-Mata seems to take more set pieces
-Mata was left on v City while Hazard was taken off, indicating he will play more minutes under Rafa... could mean nothing though/

I was leaning hazard as well just based on funds it would free up. The combo has served me well thus far but I don't have any city coverage and I don't trust Rafa to be attacking anyway.

Keep for home game versus Fulham in my opinion, they have been terrible defensively and are without their captain and best defender in Hangeland. Then see who plays the biggest part, Rafa has hinted at having one midfielder play off the striker, and I think Hazard is the obvious choice. Could mean more points for him. Up until now the central AMC has played deeper (Oscar), with Hazard and Mata cutting inside from their respective flanks.

      Lallana vs Ramirez

Ignoring Puncheon for the moment. I would like to go Ramirez because of his second striker role and the amount of chances he gets in the box. Lallana has the captaincy and nailed on for 90 mins and does have goals in him too. I really am stuck here.

New to English football, and he's really coming into his own now. Don't know if I'd fancy spending that much considering Puncheon is available for 4.5, but I think Ramirez over Lallana
