Tuesday’s matches lived up to expectations, as four sides low on confidence and fraught with stuttering form served up a single goal and limited returns. Here’s the Stock Check on this evening’s events…

On the Up

Christian Benteke
Thrown into the Scout Picks, the formidable Belgian striker delivered a third goal of the season to provide a vital winner for Villa. With Darren Bent kept in the stands, Benteke justified Paul Lambert’s faith in him with another muscular display. Maximum bonus beckons and it’s QPR and Stoke over the next two.

The Villa Defence
While Paul Lambert’s back four have conceded eight goals in their last five, all eight of those conceded came against United and City, meaning that the Villa back four have kept three clean sheets around those two matches. Three away games in the next four is an obstacle to investment, although their progress is clearly worth monitoring. Scout Pick Ciaran Clark has the goal threat to accompany defensive returns but he joined the suspension tightrope with his fourth booking tonight.

Adel Taarabt
There were question marks over the Moroccan’s role when Harry Redknapp took the reins but tonight’s showing indicated that Taarabt will remain a key figure and certainly QPR’s biggest threat and creative influence. While he drew a blank this evening, Fantasy managers will be monitoring his potential as QPR’s schedule improves.

Going Down

Sunderland’s Attack
With six goals in their last three matches, both Stephane Sessegnon and Steven Fletcher have attracted inevitable interest with a double Gameweek looming. However, tonight provided more evidence that we must remain cautious on their potential. Martin O’Neill’s side laboured again, with the bulk of their efforts on goal fired in from range.

Kaspar Gorkss
The Latvian was presumably rested, with Adrian Mariappa drafted into the centre of the Reading back four. Brian McDermott’s decision to omit the senior member of his defence could be significant given that Sean Morrison retained his start. With Chris Gunter also rotated out, the security of starts in the Reading rearguard is again in question.

Julio Cesar
The Brazilian reportedly picked up a groin injury in the first half and was denied clean sheet returns with Robert Green taking over for the second period. He’ll presumably be an early doubt for the meeting with Villa this weekend.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

After watching the Swans game Enrique is the new Baines 🙂 I keep forgetting though that Baines did nearly score twice v Norwich. However, sacrafices have to be made to get in Suarez.

          I'm currently looking at Baines > Enrique/Mata > Walcott/Ba > Suarez (4 pointer)

Got a new plan for next week.

Will do Baines, Ba and Berba -> Giroud, Suarez (if he doesn’t get a yellow) and Shorey (DGW) for a 4 point hit. That will leave me with 0.3 or 0.2 in the bank and hopefully I can ditch Foster and still get Mignolet for the DGW.

With the triple transfer I will get Arsenal cover, Suarez(who’s on form) and a DGW player. Already have Wisdom too.

Rumour is we’ll be playing a back 3/5 tomorrow. Im not sure how this would affect FF. If its true I would expect our lineup to be,

    …………………..Schwarz

    ……….Berbatov…….Frei
    …………………..Petric

Now onto Liverpool. Since alot people asking about should they triple up. Firstly Suarez should be in your team because thier fixtures are ridiculously easy and he'll likely score and assist most goals they get. doing it later will cost you big money atleast 11mil upwards and so what if he misses 1 game you shoud have a bench if you planned your team.

Secondly Sterling should have been in most peoples teams ages ago, getting him now is stupid not because he's bad but it's his price has reached almost 6mil with the likes of Lallana and Ramirez, Morrisons etc... it's not worth it for a 5th mid. If you want him get him because he likely get more pts since next 10 fixtures are fairly easier compared to the teams they played at the start so you could see him get way more than the likes of the players I mentioned. The new Sterling right now is Puncheon but thats only if he remains a starter.

Now finally to Enrique this guy is a must and its not hype, he's worth 5.8 and as a defender playing left foward wing at that price you have to get him period. He's going to play there for a while because this Liverpool team doesn't have much options and frankly he aint going to get dropped for Downing , Cole etc. Not only that but with what Rodgers said he looks certain starter with GJ playing lb and Wisdom rb. He will move back to lb if either of those 2 get injured but that price is still good for a defender. He's better then baines right now because he could have massive returns soon and this Liverpool team will keep more clean sheets then Everton. If you have Baines and Enrique even better but for me thats too costly since Everton don't keep cleensheets as much as the other top team etc 2 Manchester sides and Arsenal and Chelsea.

hopely this will help out alot with so many asking the same question.... 🙂

But, you may be pleased to hear that your post confirmed what I was thinking anyway and I just dumped Simpson for Enrique figuring I have hated having Simpson in my team and it might only be 0.1 but I want JE and I want the 0.1.

So, red card for JE tomorrow.

FWIW, I don't think Enrique will play in the front 3 tomoro.

I think GJ will be used at RB Vs Bale.

I think we'll switch to 5 at the back, with (Agger, Skrtel, Carra)..GJ RB and Enrique (or even Robinson) LB.

      Allen/ Gerrard
      Suso (or Shelvey) as CAM
      Suarez and Sterling up front.

I think Enrique will return to the front 3 for SOU.

      All IMO of course! 😉

Rodgers won't go with 3 cbs against Tottenham it only happened because Skrtel was missing and Agger was carring and injury

By the looks of things Rodgers trust his young players etc Wisdom even if he's coming up against Bale either way tehy probly will double up on him.

You said it all. I agree completely. The only thing pulling me off is the chance to bring a big hitter (Silva/Walcott) if I DON'T bring Enrique in and keep downgrading defense. If it weren't for that I'd have already pulled the trigger on him.

Got £500 from a Kompany first scorer bet last season when there was a money back on Rooney AGS.

Went for similar with Mertesacker the other week but he had to screw up for Ade to score before getting the second. Was refunded because of Bale scoring.

In terms of big accumulators I've come close but now won any big ones.

Oh and Kolarov goalscorer bets provide both flair and success

It is. I just love betting on golf. The extra e/w places are great. You can fish out good odds if you look for them hard enough (50s, 75s, 80s, etc) look for previous course form, style of the course to style of the player etc

It certainly wasn't a long shot, more of a gutsy one...

I made a quick 100 quid betting 400 on Europe to win in the Ryder Cup last year right at the end at 1/4...

I would have gone crazy if McDowell missed that putt and we halved...

One last gambling story. I live beside the Curragh and was in the local PP shop several years ago on a manky day in Nov/ Dec. I was there to bet on the w/e footy.
There was a bit of excitement in the shop before some no-hopers race at Lingfield or Wolverhampton or somewhere.
It was a really foggy day at the course and all the locals were ITK about some nag who could find the rail and romp home when it was foggy. I'm not a regular so was straining my ears to hear the name or even the number. Even the girls behind the counter were legging it accross the road to the other shop to have a bet!
Caught half the name just before the off and managed to get a tenner on @ 50/1.
The fcker found the rail about 3 furlongs into a 5 furlong sprint and won by an=bout 6 lengths!!!! Happiness.

    RVP Tevez Fletcher

Any idea on how to make up 1.0m from this team to do Tevez -> Suarez? I'm all of a sudden reluctant to lose Baines but does it just have to be done? Ridgewell -> 4.0 is probably the obvious 1 but he has great fixtures coming up..

that's the problem I see here. The dgw is intriguing however further analysis shows investment is not really a necessity

Sunderland for instance leading up to the dgw had qpr who after the managerial changes were always going to be tough. Then norwich away and we all know norwich now are a force at home and very tight defensively. Sunderland struggle to score at the best of times so will be a major struggle there.

Then chelsea at home as part of the dgw. Chelsea seem to have tightened up and become more disciplined. Which leaves you with the reading game at home really as the only potential point gainer.

Man utd at old trafford the next week does not help things for sunderland investors.

So I'm thinking if Foster is (as reported) out for Swansea and Stoke, his next match would then be away to Arsenal (a game I would not play him in anyway) And it coincides with the DGW for Sunderland. Therefore I'm gaining a keeper for an extra game and hopefully a double rise before then. Plus Foster's price may fall again if he misses 3 games and as I bought him for 5.1 I'd be losing value.

The rise is happening tonight so I must act quick. Thank you everyone who gave me advice on the last page.

With 2FT I'm confident of pressing the button and I'm making a good decision. Just need some reassurance about it is all! Cheers

First time this season I've had 2FTs... probably downgrading Baines > Wisdom and using that money to upgrade Fellaini/Nolan, depending on what happens tonight... probably bringing in Walcott...

I may even consider taking a hit to get B.Jones in as well...
