The key factor for a player to appear in this series is to have a visible (or at least perceived) flaw which we believe is either over-emphasised or could end in the coming weeks. We’ve highlighted Jason Puncheon who lacked guaranteed minutes but has shone since securing his place in the Southampton first team. Leon Osman’s ‘flaw’ is simply being unfashionable in a side full of more exciting options, yet he is nipping at the heels of the more fancied Steven Pienaar and even Nikica Jelavic in total points.

This week’s player has a number of such flaws, though most of them are of no concern to us. Adel Taarabt is the prototypical mercurial talent; equally happy playing the part of a sublime match winner as that of frustrating prospect, doomed to never align his end product with his obvious talent.

      Their reasons:

Cisse: The Frenchman has scored more times against Villa (4 in 6) than any other team in the Premier League

Torres: He has netted 6 goals in 6 games against the Hammers, failing to do so more times against any other team in the league, and struck his first ever Chelsea goal against the East Londoners back in 2011.

Lennon: We've banked on Lennon here due to the fact that the match forecast for Spurs' game against Fulham suggests the visitors will score from a fast break, and few can get up in support of counter attacks quicker than the England international.

I had both Mata and Hazard. Decided to get rid of Hazard to free up funds for Bale. However, kept Mata because of Chelsea's next couple o fixtures. Despite Chelsea's poor goalscoring form recently, I don't think Mata will be quiet for long. But Bale is seemingly on fire (which is why I transferred him in). Tough choice, but I would go with Baines>Enrique, frees up some cash so you can make some moves in the next week or two. Dunno how well Bale will do this weekend...every time I xfer someone in they end up disappointing me...chasing points.

Every time time Rvp has a decent fixture its a risk to captain anyone else in the gw imo and if he does the business u lose too much ground on rivals.Don't know how some don't even have him tbh. I dont like it he has too much of a stranglehold on the game imo. Thoughts ?

RvP's a great option. And yes, the non captainer's might get fecked if their captains don't perform. No reason that you cant captain another player who's got equal or better potential.

Any stranglehold is in the minds of individual players. Yes, you can lose out on his points, but what if he gets a two and you picked better? There will always be safe bets, and risky bets, you just have to choose which one you place.

I think if you captain another great performer (eg Tevez a few weeks back or Suarez) then that's the risk you take...but the rewards can be huge. But having RVP full stop mitigates against too much damage.

Too inconsistent. You just have to strike lucky with Bale (c).

yeah, you can call that lucky but plus other reasons(dembele return, bale superb away perfomances, spurs form, fulham leaky def...) i think he is a decent captain pick...

The thing that's befuddling me right now is there are finally some decent and cheap avenues to explore with defences tightening up a bit and all. But along comes this silly spaniard who can't defend so they put him up front. And we all HAVE to buy him now for potential.

It's Baines mk 2.0 and you'll never be able to bench him because he'll always be a whisker away from a goal. Someone reassure me it's going to be better than Baines-gate! 🙂

I suppose I just don't see what all the angst is about. Make your mind up whether you have room for him and can afford him, and if so just decide now what you expect out of him. Give him a time period by which you will drop him if he does't deliver.

The anxiety comes from the fact that a lot of people need to shift Baines to get him. That is a different question, becuase most have some TV invested in him and could not buy him back. If you think he is Baines 2.0 and can only get him with Baines, then don't do it.

So i have a real dilemma
    begovic (mannone)
    rafael baines cueller demel davies
    fellaini bale cazorla sterling michu
    rvp berba fletcher

have 0.2m in the bank and 1FT. So here are my options:
    A: baines >> enrique

BUT is there any way ppl can think of to bring in Enrique without taking out Baines….Rafael?anyone else?

    thoughts?

    Begovic Foster
    Garrido Cameron Wisdom Baines Cuellar
    Fellaini Maloney Bale Cazorla Michu
    Lambert Berbatov RVP
    2 FTs and £2.1M spare.

    A. RVP + Maloney -> Suarez + Silva
    or
    B. Maloney -> Sterling

I'm 43 points behind the leader in a $50 league, 5 points ahead of 2nd place in a $50 H2H and still in the cup so not sure whether dropping RVP is a risk worth taking...

    My team !

    Green(AVL)
    Enrique(SOU)-Rafael(rdg)-Cuellar(nor)
    Sterling(SOU)-Fellaini(mci)-Bale(ful)-Cazorla(SWA)
    Fletcher(nor)-RVP(rdg)-Berba(TOT)

    Bench: Bego(wba)-Michu(ars)-Clyne(liv)-Demel(CHE)

I have 1FT and 1.5M in bank, I want to transfe out Fletcher or Begovic maybe. For Fletcher I was considering Defoe/Giroud and for Begovic I was considering Szscezney….
Should I do any of these, or do you have some other transfers/changes you would do?

    Cheers! 🙂
