We’ve got Paddy on the ropes again. A week after our bookmaker friends clawed back our early season winnings, we’re now firmly in profit after back-to-back wins. Following a treble windfall back in Gameweek 13, Christian Benteke and Aston Villa delivered the goal and clean sheet we needed to recall another victory in midweek. Now let’s see if can make it a hat-trick of wins with this week’s Scout Picks inspired markets…

Theo Walcott is first up – another man in form having scored the Gunners’ goal at Goodison on Wednesday. Walcott picked up an ankle knock in that game but trained on Friday and will be expected to be the key threat when Swansea visit the Emirates. This one looks a lip-smacker and with Walcott so integral to Arsenal’s goal threat, we like the look of odds of 5/1 on a Theo goal with a Gunners clean sheet against a Swansea side who have scored just three times in their last five away trips. We’ll take this one for £2 of our stake.

West Brom’s Shane Long crops up next. The impish striker is another in bloom, having notched five times for the Baggies this term. He will go into the clash with Stoke fully rested having sat on the bench for the defeat to Swansea in midweek. Steve Clarke has demanded a reaction to that setback and a win with a Long goal looks a favourable outcome. With West Brom keeping four clean sheets at the Hawthorns this season and Stoke likely to be without Peter Crouch, we’re more than happy with Paddy’s odds of 11/2 on a Long goal with a West Brom shut-out. We’re throw another £2 at that one.

We’re all waiting on QPR’s resurgence under Harry Redknapp and, with Villa at Loftus Road this weekend, there seems to be a perfect opportunity to get the ball rolling. Scout Pick Adel Taarabt is a player we’ve talked plenty about on the site over the season so far, and, as Chris Glover’s Moneyball article revealed, we’re just waiting on Taarabt to deliver on his numbers. This weekend would be a perfect time to start and with Paddy dangling 9/1 on a Taarabt goal with a QPR clean sheet, we can’t resist. This is our bet of the week which gets a healthy £4 stake.

That leaves a couple of quid for our usual treble punt. We couldn’t let the Gameweek pass without bringing Luis Suarez into events so Paddy’s treble offers 12/1 on a Suarez goal against Southampton, a David Silva assist against Everton and a West Brom clean sheet at home to Stoke. That combination gets our final £2 as we look to claim our third win in a week from Paddy.

If you’re new to Paddy Power, then you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

its come down to this....fellaini/michu/fletcher....who to bench? heres my thinking

Fellaini: been immense, everton have created tons of chances...city have a super tight defence but everton have a good record of them...so i slightly leaning towards fellaini

michu: arsenal have been good defensively to teams who dont bully em and since swans play a similar style..my gut feel is its gonna be a nil nil...similar to swans vs lpool...same tiki taka kak...

fletcher...norwich have been very good defensively...but if sland were to get something...fletcher would be involved and he is a striker..

So i am thinking of benching michu! could blow up solidly in my face though lol

This is tough. I'd probably bench Fletcher (Norwich good defence at home, Sunderland rotten shot totals), but as you say it could blow up in your face.

Perhaps when you ask who to bench and start listing players, subconsciously you've already decided to bench the player you list last but just want confirmation... and vice versa.. just a random though... carry on..

Agreed, Hernandez isnt a regular and with Rafa at chelsea making noises about rotation already, Mata (although a brilliant little player) might get less game time from now on too.

I dunno if Hernandez will start.. There's a risk.

Get Walcott instead of Mata for Arsenal.

Then, RvP + someone in budget instead of Hernandez + Giroud.

              Team news has him starting.

But Mancini could just as easily start Zabaleta at LB again. Fingers crossed.

I think he'll be good for a start in this one. Starting to wish I'd done the sensible thing and gotten Nasty. Still, a good score from Kolarov today and I'll change my tune.

It's one of those toin coss ones really. Not sure anybody on here is going to have a truly definitive reason to pick one over the other. RVP would be playing safe I guess, so if you're leading go RVP, chasing go Bale, perhaps?

He trained yesterday, so almost certainly not injured. Basically every newspaper has him in the line-up (checked 3).

I think most on here are going for Suarez over RVP for Captain. United haven't been great this season and that's why, especially away, teams would look to attack them from the go which leaves them vulnerable to counter attacks. And this could only be a good thing for United- playing on the counter?? Even if not for the entire match. This only increases the chances of RVP getting the goals.. That's why going for RVP (c)..Thoughts..?? Flawed logic?

RVP playing wide, it's very annoying, especially when he got a goal he often played as a winger
