We’re now down to the final 32 as we roll out the sixth round draw of the Fantasy Football Scout Paddy Power Cup VII. The fixtures take place over the upcoming Gameweek 17 and we have four of the top 1,000 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers still in with a shout of the silverware.

World number three Iyad Zahlan remains our leading contender – he’s up against El Pieman, who sits in 1,178th position. Elsewhere, JMS, who is currently 203rd overall, MileHigh – in 437th position – and HongKong TractorBoys, who has moved up to 567th spot, are the three other big scalps on the line this weekend.

    Who is the best choice in the City defence 5.7 or below; Zabalata (5.7), Clichy (5.6) or Nastasic (5.6)?

    Nastasic, Fabio, Clyne, Demel, Wisdom defence. Great risk of only 2 playing, or worse. Do I take a hit to bring in someone? Have 1.4 in the bank.

    Cameron before the rise? Shawcross despite high price and ownership?

    Not liking Stoke's fixtures, but they do keep it tight.. Any other good suggestions?

        Shawcross would almost empty the bank after Wisdom sale. Cameron much cheaper, but will yield fewer points. And their fixtures look tougher now.

          It's a tough one - Stoke are definitely the safe bet and at some point you'll probably need to get one of their defenders. Just not sure now is the right time with their fixtures. Could maybe get Olsson, although I'm not sure what the deal is with rotation at West Brom

            I'm a little unsure on West Brom. Fear they'll implode at some point. Stoke's fixtures look dreadful though...

            A fair bit at home, but even Stoke can't keep out all these teams.

      Silva was great against United, so that's another possibility. Been saved a lot so far to prevent his dip in the 2nd half of the season (like happened last year). So think he'll play a lot the last 6 months.

      Aguero too ofc, much the same as Silva on management there. Had and sold Walcott before his price dip. Got injured the day after I bought him! 😡

          yes agreed, but with Enrique you're likely to get some attacking returns too. Just doesnt seem like the best time to drop him. maybe drop after the two home games if you really want to. I believe we have conceded 1 goal in our last 5 home games in the PL.

          Hmm. Well I've had him in for his three goals so I'm in love with the man.

    Just did Tevez to Rooney for a hit and stuck the (C) on him. My ML rival is 100 points - not my fault he's doing so damn well this season - ahead with a front line of RVP, Torres and Tevez.

    United have 3 home games in the next 4.

    City have 3 away.

    Only one other person that I consider my competition in the league had both Rooney and RVP too. Let the games begin. For once I can relax and be just a United fan wanting my strikers to score.

    Evening gents, I'm trying to decide what to do about city cover.

    I originally had Tevez but due to his 40% ownership I decided after his 19 point haul to get him out and hope that the city attack got messy and therefore not having him (or any city player) would be a good differential, but Balotelli has probably ruined that plan. 🙁

    So I'm left with 4 options (all of which I don't like)

    (a) Get the best forward option and pay 11m for Aguero and hope that it pays off
    (b) Get Silva, give up one of my valuable midfield spots and hope he begins to score like the elite midfielder he was last year (and Oh hope he is not rested every second game over the xmas)
    (c) Just follow suit with 40% of FF players and get Tevez......... and hope he plays regularly, scores points. (Which he probably will).
    (d) Stick with the original plan for another few weeks and avoid the City attack in the hope that it continues to frustrate everybody else and gets a big differential .........

        Because my team is all over the place and I figure if I play it now I have 8 GWs before I have to use the next one.

        In my history of FF, within 8 weeks of playing a WC I have never not thought "I wish I had another wildcard to play right now".

      Never expected it to be so, but it turns out using it during that DGW would have been really good. (Stocking up with a Sunderland trio basically). Imagine if you actually did take a punt on Johnson, Sess and McClean together.

      I mean there is a WC in GW21-25, so you should save the WC and use it when?

      If you are going on "8 games is not enough to have a WC for" then you would say play it in GW21 and then you can't play your other one until at least GW 30, or else its too close to the last one, right? Then you only have 8 GWs left with your WC.

      Or play it now, have 8 GWs use, play the other one for GW25 and have 13 GWS left to run.

      Seems to make sense to me.

      Is it really so bad, especially when your team is on CRUTCHES and in FREEFALL?

        Also if you play 2 WC close together you can run for 4-5 weeks with a team that is specifically designed for those weeks and includes players without the long term value to normally consider a transferring in, whist also being able to WC back in your long term favourites for he last 13-15 weeks
        Only issue is the loss of money transferring players out and back I'm again, if you own them at a cheaper price, ie Michu or Sterling

          But I don't see 8GWs as being that close together really. I mean its short in time (2 Feb?) but EIGHT games....
