With just two matches to go before the curfew for five yellow cards is reached, the tightrope is more crowded then ever, with two of the biggest Fantasy names around joining those teetering on the brink. Both Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie must now get past matches with Newcastle and West Brom without a blemish if they are to avoid a rather inconvenient one-match ban.

The United pairing are two of nine new additions to the tightrope this weekend, with Reading’s Mikele Leigertwood and Adrian Mariappa included in the latest arrivals, along with Sandro and Jan Vertonghen of Spurs and Geoff Cameron and Andy Wilkinson of Stoke. Swansea’s Chico also joined the pack now sitting on four yellows with two matches to go before safety.

Fantasy managers now have a string of top quality assets at risk, with the United pairing, three of the esteemed Stoke back four, Gareth Bale, Jermain Defoe, Kevin Nolan, Adel Taarabt and Michu all still gasping for air with the December 31 date drawing closer. Overall, we have 31 names sitting on four bookings (see your right sidebar for the full cast), with a total of 64 players still at risk of serving a ban should they see enough yellow flashed in their direction.

There are, of course, suspensions already sealed after the weekend’s action – Carlton Cole’s red in the 2-1 defeat to Everton could yet be appealed which could save him from a three-match ban and bring him back into contention for the trip to Reading on December 29. Everton have already submitted their appeal for Darron Gibson’s red in the same match and, while the FA mull over that, Gibson becomes available for Everton’s home encounter with Wigan. There’s no escape for Cheick Tiote though; he fell from the tightrope with his fifth caution in the 1-0 win over QPR and will now get to watch from the stands while his team-mates travel to Old Trafford. He’ll be missed.

There’s also a string of players returning from bans, with John Obi Mikel’s availability casting immediate doubt over David Luiz’s chances of retaining that defensive midfield role for the trip to Carrow Road. Both Steve Sidwell and Youssouf Mulumbu served out their one-match bans this weekend and will be available to make immediate returns to action on Boxing Day. Marouane Fellaini still has two more matches to serve before he’s back in contention for Everton.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    My current score is 924.

The boxing day games are the half way point in the season.

So I need to score 76 to be on course to end the season with 2000 points.

    Uh ohhh 🙁

Scoring should hypothetically accelerate towards the end of the season as the cream rises to the top, double gameweeks come about and you have a greater team value. That said my best score was in GW1

    Fonte - Demel - G Johnson - Cameron - Cuellar

    Pienaar - Michu - Snodgrass - Walcott - Sterling

    Tevez - RVP - Berbatov

With £2.5m in the bank, will getting rid of Demel with my one Free Transfer be enough to field a strong XI for Boxing Day?

    Begovic Foster
    Rafael Enrique Cameron Demel Shorey
    Mata Silva Michu Sterling Puncheon
    RVP Suarez Defoe

    1FT 0.4m

Option A) Trade out Rafael for other defender if so who?
Option B) Don't trade him out and play enrique cameron shorey which is still pretty decent as shorey may get an assist or two against the league's leakiest defence against set peices and have 2FT next week in which i can choose to keep rafael if he is fit or trade him out.

the comment, sorry I forgot English not first language for some. Basically force means to make someone do something and if they don't then consequences.

      A and free.

I don't think the latter merits a hit.

Afternoon lads, and Merry Christmas Eve!

Do you have any suggestions for this team? I have 1FT and 0.2 in the bank. Losing my mini league by 15 points. Still havent played my Wildcard. Was thinking of using it for the chelsea DGW?

    Mignolet, Jaask

    McAuley, Enrique, Rafael, Hughes, Cuellar

Yaya Toure, Hazard, Puncheon, Michu, Sterling

    Long, RVP, Ba

I only watched the first 30 minutes or so, but did anyone else thing J. Evans was crap in his play against SWA? Lost the ball too easily and his distribution from the back was poor. Not sure if he improved as the game went on tho'...

united were better defensively in the 2nd half...Evans didnt have his best game no and had one or two misplaced passes in the 2nd half as well. However, he is usually reliable in this aspect and Fergie knows this. In the press conference pre match, fergie described evans as being a good enough enough footballer to play in midfield. Xmas time is rotation time and with smalling and Rio sitting out the game, i fear he may get rested rather than dropped for the newcastle game

    Begovic

    Garrido Gibbs Rafael

    Mata Silva Michu Walcott

    RvP Berba Suarez

Any options for me? Rafael/Walcott out = Bale/Shorey in, what do ou think? Captain = Berbatov.

    Hi chaps,

    Bego (federici)

    Rafael, Clyne, Jose Enrique

    Dempsey, Yaya, Michu, Mata (Sterling)

    Defoe, RVP, Suarez

No money in bank and cannot get Bale/Silva etc for Dempsey, not enough money

I will stick with Rafael tough.

Or maybe skip transfer and do a 2FT next game week

    What do you think?
