Tony Pulis will need to reshuffle his defensive options after two of Stoke’s regular back-four fell foul of the referee’s wrath against Liverpool in Boxing Day. Ryan Shawcross and Geoff Cameron will now sit out the Potters’ home clash against Southampton after accruing their fifth cautions of the campaign in Wednesday’s 3-1 win:

The duo are two of four players who are set to serve an automatic one-match ban in Gameweek 20. Villa’s Fabian Delph and Newcastle centre-half Mike Williamson are also sidelined against Wigan and Arsenal respectively.

While those four are unavailable, a quartet of new protagonists appeared on the Suspension Tightrope after receiving their fourth cautions of the campaign in midweek. Yaya Toure, Bradley Johnson, Jean Beausejour and Maynor Figueroa will all need to be on their best behaviour this upcoming weekend, as will 27 other players, including the likes of Robin Van Persie, Michu, Gareth Bale, Jermain Defoe, Adel Taarabt and Kevin Nolan; once Gameweek 20 is out the way, though, the limit is then extended to 10 yellows. So far, a quartet on players lead the race for that dubious honour – Luis Suarez, James Perch, Craig Gardner and Angel Rangel all have seven bookings apiece.

Both Darron Gibson and Carlton Cole are available this weekend, however. The FA have overturned three-match bans handed out to the pair in West Ham’s Gameweek 18 home clash with Everton – good news for those Fantasy managers eyeing up Cole as a possible double Gameweek punt; the 4.9 priced forward has produced two goals, an assist and six bonus points in four games since deputising for the injured Andy Carroll.

Elsewhere, Cheick Tiote returns for Newcastle’s trip to Arsenal after sitting out their 4-3 defeat at Old Trafford, while Marouane Fellaini serves the final fixture of his three-match ban as Everton welcome Chelsea to Goodison Park.

Right so Yaya is possibly going to Drop again tonight. 2 options:

    Yaya -> Nolan
    leaving me with
    Bale Michu McAnuff Nolan Walcott

    Torres Ba RVP

    or

    Yaya + Ba -> Mata/Stevie G + Berba for a 4 point hit.

What do we think boys? First or the second? Prefer the second myself but is it foolish?

Currently on Puncheon to Nolan. I'm thinking get rid of Puncheon, with the logic that Sterling was just rested the past two games, and will continue to start from now on and Liverpool's fixtures are still good.

ok my take on the Michu sell/keep situation FWIW

if you got on board the Michu chu train early (i.e if you bought him for less than 7 million) I'd say keep if he's out for 1 week as you'll only want him back and it'll cost you a packet plus 2 transfers (1 to sell one to buy) at a minimum to do it.

if you were a late boarder and paid over 7 (and especially if you paid 7.5 or more) I'd say sell, especially if you're struggling to get 11 out this week, as the step-up to get him back will not be that great.

I've had him since the start and there is no way I'm getting rid. He's a warrior and hopefully will be back for New Year's Day

What about this for gw 23:

    Michu/Bale/Santi/Mata/Felli
    Cole/Rvp/Suarez

    Who to bench though?

Ba is an interesting one. New plays READ in gw 23. If he goes to Arsenal...then a DGW.

I think Michu’s gonna be out for Fulham, but anything else is not concrete at all. Just predictions. The papers are often wrong about injury.

If you got him late, and aren’t gonna lose much cash you can make the trade though. If you brought him early, wait for official news.

    Some thoughts:
AVL vs top 5: conceded 25 in 6 games
AVL vs rest: conceded 11 in 13 games
AVL fixtures: WIG swa SOU wba NEW (i.e. no top 5 in sight)
So I’ll be getting Clark, even though he’s shipped 12 in 2, as I need a nailed on defender with good fixtures.

Can’t wait to do Fellaini for Yaya in time for EVE vs new SWA sou WBA AVL

Wanted a Wilkinson yellow at the weekend, just to see how Stoke would line up and cope -3 regular Defs

Kenwyne Jones slowly turning back into a Beast? A 5.0m Beast!

Feel sorry for Newcastle and all their injuries. Midfield vs ars likely to be:
    Cisse Perch Tiote Bigirama Marveaux

Evra can’t keep scoring but will keep conceding, not interested in the slightest at that price

    Baines Johnson Demel/Nelson
    Bale Silva Pienaar Nolan
    RVP Tevez Suarez

    0 FT left.

Anything worth doing this week? Trailing ML leader by 50 pts.

Like Mata, Fellaini, Michu, Walcott over the next few weeks so was thinking of going 3-5-2. Worth shipping out Tevez this week for a budget Carlton Cole to free funds? Baines also would have to be sacrificed.

Players rise and fall every week. There will def be a tonne of people WC-ing early, but I don't think it matters. Every week there are a bunch of players that everybody is after that rise by a lot.

Advantageous to wait IMO. Get to see the situation better waiting. And then there's clean up after DGW. Can fill up on Arsenal and West Ham and then drop them.
