A somewhat vague Michael Laudrup reveals there’s “a possibility” Michu could return against Villa tomorrow. Newcastle are without Danny Simpson for the next “three to four weeks” according to Alan Pardew, after the right-back broke a toe in Saturday’s loss at Arsenal.

Samir Nasri is banned for three games after City decided not to appeal his sending off at Norwich. Martin Jol hopes to have Damien Duff and Mark Schwarzer back for Fulham’s trip to West Brom. Chelsea confirm Petr Cech picked up a groin injury in yesterday’s win at Everton, Adam Lallana is ruled out again for Southampton, though Nathaniel Clyne will undergo a late fitness test. Everton lose Darron Gibson for a month with a groin injury, while Stoke’s Andy Wilkinson is expected to recover from the concussion that forced him off at the weekend in time for the trip to City. Jose Enrique misses out for Liverpool, while Sunderland, in opposition at Anfield, will be missing John O’Shea – both are stricken by hamstring injuries.

    Just realised I half considered a goalkeeper wildcard pairing of Green and Federici. The two worst teams in the league, with both under threat of starts once their competition is fit.

    I really red to be more sensible with my goalkeeping problems, though I don't fancy spending more than the £9.3m I've spent in total currently, leaving few options.

      Yeah, Begovic does look like the way forward, decent points and CS chance, every week. I could've had him so much cheaper if I'd grabbed him earlier, but there were always more important problems.

      Might splash the extra 0.2m on Bunn over Cerny, though, just in case of injury, suspension or missing fixtures, it'll probably be worth it

    For the wildcard, possibly being activated tomorrow night, I'm thinking this:

    Begovic, Bunn
    Baines, Gibbs, O'Brien, Demel, Harte
    Bale, Mata, Walcott, Michu, Fellaini
    RVP, Defoe, Ruiz

    Aside from RVP, this gives me 6 players (Defoe and The Power Five) that should produce with some consistency and can hit a double digit score at any time. There is also Baines for err... more 2 pointers.

    I'm not usually an advocate of taking a hit in defence but this is my defence for the next 2 weeks:

    GW21: Mignolet (liv), Cameron (mci), Nasty Nas (STO), Clyne/Mariappa (ARS/tot)
    GW 22: Mignolet (WHU), Cameron (CHE), Mariappa (WBA), Clyne (avl)

    Is it worth Enrqiue > Walker (RDG, qpr) for -4 and benching Clyne/Mariappa in GW21 & Clyne in GW22? Could surely make up 4 points over the 2 weeks?

    i have no idea who to bench!!! was going to bench michu, but now he says he tweets that he will play! the obvious choice would be ruiz out of them all now that michu is likely to play, but i have a gut feeling with ruiz. like i think he will score massive and everyone will get on the bandwagon. help?!!!

    I'm nervous about fielding decent players this week. Suspended Bale brings Sterling off the bench @ home vs. Sunderland. If Michu does not play, Shawcross comes off the bench @ Manchester City.

    I do not want to get rid of Bale just to get him back.
