Continuing our round-up of the Christmas period, it’s time to treat our members to a series of articles which examines each of the positions and analyses the form of the key protagonists over the past four Gameweeks. We start in defence, by casting an eye over the top tens for our ICT Index, plus a more in-depth look at the main performers in terms of goal threat and creativity….

Evening all. I'm 0.1M short of getting the following team and none of the players i'm selling are due to rise tonight. Any suggestions?
Turnbull (Bego)
Shaw, Demel, Zaba, Gibbs, Luiz
Cole, Punch, Michu, Bale, Walcott
Torres, Suarez, RVP
Any suggestions - have Sagna instaed of Gibbs, or have Ba instead of Torres?
The plan is to then do Torres & Punch to Podolski & Noble for the following week.
ThanksOpen Controls-
Ba instead of Torres
Open Controls-
This. The only reason to have Torres was being nailed on, now he isn't.
Open Controls
-
-
-
but Luiz a much better longer option than Cole i think
Open Controls
-
-
why do you still have torres sell him to tevez? or berba or ba eventhough they both will play only 1 game each
Open Controls-
cheers count, just remeber that hooiveld was dropped so yoshida went to CB meaning shaw to LB.
Why Ba over Torres?
Santi i presume you think Torres Vs Stoke and Ba Vs Soton? I don't have a chelski striker at the mo, i'm getting one for the double, bt if they only play 1 game perhaps i should stick with Defoe Vs QPR?Open Controls

I think that's enough.
besides, I've heard rumours that other teams are other teams playing in those weeks too!Open Controls-
DGW 22 - Mata (C), Clyne
DGW 23 - Gibbs, O'Brien (?), Walcott (C), Nolan (and possibly Pod)Open Controls

berba suarez rvp
3.5m in bank and 0fts.
my defence is crockedOpen Controls

i'd give my right arm to still have 2 wildcards, V jealous!
Looks like a plan though, you think Mert will come back in for Koscielny?Open Controls-
Well, he sees to have been Wengers main defnder. Arsenal fans say he has been better than Verm this year.
Only missed games over Xmas through illness.Open Controls

-
-
Is it really worth using 2 wildcards over though. I have both available aswell but I haven't considered using both..
Open Controls-
I'm waiting. They'll be a massive DGW later on with better fixtures
Open Controls
-
you not tempted to do puncheon to guterie(so no bench dilema) and to upgrade merte to gibbs or one of the cheapies to wilkinson maybe?...very similar to mine
Open Controls -
Been umming and ahhing whether we can get away with saving the 2nd WC for another DGW down the road. I think if you go in with 3-4 WHU/SOT players then it's possible.
Whatcha reckon?Open Controls -
I'd save the other WC for later in the season when you can load up a full team of DGW players.

No Chelsea or Southampton cover so........
Enrique > Azpilcueta
and
Berbatov > Ba for a 4 point hit, sound good?Open Controls-
I think getting rid of Berb (who has a plum fixture) is a bit mad.
Open Controls -
doesn't sound great, nobody knows whether Ba will play both games, apart from Benitez. Berbatov has Wigan
Open Controls-
Berbatovs fixtures after Wigan are pretty poor and Fulham are hardly setting the world alight, it wouldn't surprise me if Wigan won.
Open Controls

-
I think people are overrating how much points will the double games bring them. Benitez loves Torres, so it's still probably one game max for Ba. He can score more than Berbatov, but I'd say pretty much he can score less.
Azpilicueta, well, he'll probably play, and Enrique surely won't, so that's 4 points earned already.Open Controls-
Cheers for the response. I'm just worried cos I don't have any cover whatsoever.

Ivan or Luiz. 7.2 to spend. Possible one week punt so they have to be nailed on (if that is possible) Better to take one of those two over Cole for increased goal threat?
Open Controls-
If I had the cash; Ivan.
Open Controls -
Ivan
Open Controls -
Cheers guys.
Enough to do -
Cuellar > Ivan
Silva > MataOpen Controls -
Who do you like? I'm getting Luiz as likely to keep him afterward but there's not much in it.
Open Controls-
Personally prefer Luiz but Baines is staying in and one of the above as well as Walker are just too much.
Current defence...
Baines Cuellar Walker Shorey Davies
3.1 in the bankOpen Controls

That's settled then. Wildcard time. How would you change this lot?
TURNBULL
AZP, Baines, Cuellar
MATA, Fellaini, Bale, WALCOTT
LAMBERT, Rvp, Berba
SZCSESNY, NOBLE, DEMEL, Davies
Bank 0.0m
Transfer next week would probably be Bale -> SantiOpen Controls -
Cuellar, O'Brien, Clyne, Shorey, Gibbs.
I should probably fix my defence, but I'm going to go with Mata and Hazard instead 😀Open Controls-
That's the spirit 🙂

Russel Martin scored again? surely v norwich we could see a massive haul? will he start im thinking about bringhing him in
Open Controls-
-
sorry but yes you're right they are playing a team that is weak at the moment, Newcastle
Open Controls-
so yay or nay considering i will play gibbs luiz most weeks with obrien davies and martin rotating
Open Controls-
If it's bench fodder then that's fine but just be warned that he'll probs lose his place to Whittaker when he's back. You might have problems if O'Brien is out with his hammy.

😆 Combine SCD with Gladiators so they can find Mario a partner.
Nice punt from KPB.Open Controls

Got to be at least a start and a healthy sub appearance. Keep him even if you're wildcarding.
Open Controls-
Reply fail about keeping Ba...

right then, done it...............my doublers are
Wallcott
Carzola
Gibbs
Obrien
Jaask
(one to come)
Luiz
Mata
Turnbull

Puncheon
Clyne
Feels good!!!! actually better then the shower i had in before!!!Open Controls-
What are you doing with that lot when the doubles are finished?
Open Controls

For GW23
Cole and Sagna/Mert (-4)
Caz and Demel (-4)
Just Cole (no hit)
Just Caz (no hit)Open Controls-

have Gibbs, double Arsenal defence seems risky
Open Controls

i have this strange feeling i'm going to get burnt by not getting ivan for his dgw, just like i did for chelsea's first dgw. hopefully luiz does better. but then again, thats what i said when i got terry instead of ivan..
Open Controls -
Aguero having torn hamstring means minimum 2 months out?
Open Controls-
-
go with the flaw and wildcard
bring in turnbull luiz mata etcOpen Controls

Now what? Had all my plans in place and they've been destroyed by the extra DGW.
For this week, was thinking
Michu > Hazard
Suarez > Ba
Seems bloody daft.Open Controls -
@Santi. off to tenerife i be. leaving in a half hour. so with that i bid you et al adieu
Open Controls-
Sounds good, have a nice trip dude 🙂
Oh and who's al? 😉Open Controls
-
Sorry I went missing earlier. With regards to Aguero, if he has torn his hamstring (which his twitter and treatment sounds bad) he could be out for a long time. If its grade II which is most likely then we can expect about 4-8 weeks. But if its grade III, then it could be a 3-6 month absence. I'm not an expert on injuries but the fact he's going all the way to Italy doesn't sound too good.
Open Controls-
Sounds good to me. I have Tevez in most of my teams. 🙂

Is it worth me taking a hit to bring in Apilcueta?
It would mean benching either Gibbs (MCI) or Cuellar (WHM)
I am leaning towards "no"Open Controls-

I was gonna take a hit to do Foster --> Turnbull but now I'm gonna leave it. Foster could easily get a cleanie against Reading. The hit I'd take would be a risk to make up on a 2nd CS for Turnbull 😕

Hey folks
I have no FT and £0.7m in the bank.
Here is my current team:
Begovic, Ruddy
Nelsen, Sagna, Demel, Cuellar, Bassong
Mata, Michu, Bale, Walcott, Sterling
RVP, Suarez, Berbatov
Should I wildcard?
Or take -8 hit to do this:
Out: Ruddy & Bassong
In: Turnbull & Cahill
Please suggest?!
Thank youOpen Controls -
Anyone else worried about not having Fellaini for the next few weeks? Just cannot fit him in without either getting Pogrebnyak or making my defence REALLY weak but he has great fixtures!
Open Controls -
Hey does anyone have a WC draft??
Open Controls -
Luiz rising tomorrow night?
Open Controls -
Hi guys, on WC ; long term I want Ruiz,, but shall I get lambert this week and Ruiz later- or just save hassle and get Ruiz for Wigan?
Open Controls -
-
What do we reckon of Cahill's chances of 2 games this week?
Open Controls -
Anyone doubting BA's match time, yes he might only play one in the double but he's sure to play the following GW, the Cap one cup is over two legs so Chelsea play on 23 Jan and BA is cup tied for that.
Open Controls-
Well he loves playing Stoke 😀

It's only just occurred to me that Clyne may not play both games. This is annoying.
Open Controls -
CAZORLA vs BALE, next 2 gameweeks only:
Cazorla - home vs Manchester City, and at Chelsea and home vs West Ham - DGW
Bale - at QPR, and home vs Manchester United
Who will score higher? 2 gameweeks only. I already have Walcott so captaining Cazorla not an option.
Cazorla starts with a 6 vs 4 points lead in games played. Bale in form today and can score against anyone, Cazorla not in the best form and perhaps tiring a bit as used to a winter break this time of year but seems silly to drop someone with a guaranteed 3 games in 2 gameweeks.
Who do you think will score higher?Open Controls-
Bale, QPR for the taking and he always causes us problems.
Open Controls -
Bale
Open Controls -
My thought process is to stick with Caz and just bring in Bale after the Manchester United game as I won't mind as much if Bale scores since I didn't own him beforehand but will be pretty pissed if Cazorla does. Really 50-50. Maybe I'll see how Santi plays tomorrow.
