Fantasy managers have been served notice of another double Gameweek this morning after Liverpool confirmed they have rearranged their home match with Swansea for Sunday February 17. This means both clubs now have a double Gameweek 26 on their respective agendas, with Liverpool also playing host to West Brom in the same window, while Michael Laudrup’s men entertain QPR at the Liberty before making their way to Anfield.

The fixture was previously scheduled for Sunday February 24 but has since been cancelled due to Swansea’s Capital One Cup Final duties. With both clubs exiting the FA Cup, however, they are free to face off in the weekend prior to the start of Gameweek 27, which gets underway on Saturday February 23.

Swansea will be first out the blocks. Michael Laudrup’s side square up to QPR on Saturday February 9, while Liverpool’s Fantasy owners must wait two more days before the Reds welcome the Baggies to Anfield on Monday February 11. A further six days will then test our patience before the pair go head-to-head on Merseyside.

Liverpool’s home form is particularly enticing here. They have won five of their last six in front of their own fans, registering five clean sheets and scoring three or more goals on four occasions. While Swansea have scored in just two of their last six on the road, they have registered a clean sheet in four of those matches, however, suggesting a tight match could be on the cards at Anfield. Their home clash with QPR also looks tricky; Harry Redknapp’s side have kept clean sheets against Chelsea, Spurs and City in their last four matches, though the loss of Ryan Nelsen will hit them hard.

Nevertheless, significant investment can be expected from both sides, given the success of both Chelsea and Arsenal in the double Gameweek gone by. Michu and Ben Davies look primed for further investment for the Swans, while Luis Suarez, Steven Gerrard, Daniel Sturridge, Glen Johnson and Jose Enrique all look likely candidates for Brendan Rodgers’ side. As always, we’ll have Scouting the Doubles articles on both, weighing up the main protagonists on offer.

Given that both clubs have a blank Gameweek immediately after, benches will be more crucial than ever. Those who have yet to wildcard may look to the likes of Reading for cut-price squad fillers – the Royals’ home match with Wigan in Gameweek 27 looks a decent shout for coverage, for example.

Both clubs also have strong looking schedules from Gameweek 28 onwards, suggesting many will be keen to hold rather than ship out immediately. Swansea have three home matches in the following four (NEW, ARS, TOT) and also have trips to West Brom, Norwich and Wigan. Liverpool travel to Wigan, Southampton and Villa and also play host to Spurs and West Ham – clearly, investment could be for the long-term, then.

Our Season Ticker has now been updated to reflect today’s news, while Members can check out the Rate My Team section – the double has now been factored into the tool.

If you had Suarez, Enrique, Michu and Davies for the DGW and had to get rid of one of them, does it seem alright to do:

GW 27: Suarez > Cisse (He’s got some BRILLIANT fixtures, may I add)
    GW 28: Pogrebnyak > Sturridge

Thus getting Sturridge as Pool cover. Yay or Nay?

Think I will have exactly these 4 too. I think Suarez has brilliant fixtures too though and I would lose a lot of value on him, so I'm thinking about Davies to one of Clyne, BJones or STaylor (not sure he'll be nailed on though).
Your idea is good though, but will you lose much on Suarez?

I would be more confident about captaining Suarez than Sturridge. Kind of wish I ha kept Suarez instead of aguero now.

Right I'm on wildcard and looking for a one week wonder striker who I can change to Sturridge for the double. I've narrowed it down to:

    Giroud vs Stoke
    Jelavic vs Villa
    Di Santo vs Southampton

Tempted to go with Di Santo as a complete differential, opinions much appreciated.

Yes, mate - I replied on previous post.

I'm planning to do Wilson -> Davies this week (what a great WC punt that was 😎 ), then Ba - Suarez & Baines -> GJ with my 2FT's next week. Thoughts?

Like it mate - fortunately had Davies! Good to see our teams are getting closer 🙂

My plan is now as follows - this week Gibbs -> Zab and next week with 2FTs the same as you to get Suarez and GJ. We both have a good set up.

Good stuff - it means you can have Baines for AVL, and then after that game you will have a reason to ditch him..

What are your thoughts on maybe bringing in Gerrard for a hit for the DGW? Maybe take out Bale? Or is that madness being that he's got QPR...

guys!!! what do you think about this???

    my team is:

    Mig /Bunn
    Nastasic/ Gibbs / Davies / Demel / Clyne
    Bale / Fellaini / Mata / Puncheon / Walcott
    RVP / Ba / Suarez

    Plan:
    GW 25 : Ba & Puncheon->Sturridge & De Guzman
    GW 26: Gibbs & Bale -> Johnson & Michu

    possibly DGW team:

    Mig (Bunn)
    Nastasic / DAVIES / JOHNSON ( Clyne,Demel)
MICHU / Mata / DE GUZMAN / Walcott ( Fellaini)
    SUAREZ / STURRIDGE / Rvp

If someone is wondering why I want to sell Bale before Newcastle at home gw26 I would say because of his price..I won’t lose anything on him cause I bought him for 9.8m.Any suggestions guys???

I think we could be surprised by Suarez being benched in one of the DGW league games.

We know Sturridge can't play in Europe for this season, so you have to say he's nailed on. Sturridge upfront against 2 sides they can beat without Suarez, with him coming off the bench for one of them.

He has Sturridge as an option now. Whereas before Suarez was their only real striker option.

Might be able to escape with getting 11 out if I get Reina over a Pool defender, it'll be Pog's time to shine!

Going with 5. Transfer one out for 4 and only have two defenders play GW27. A defender isn't worth a four point hit for one week when I will want GJ for the following 6 weeks
