Fantasy managers have been served notice of another double Gameweek this morning after Liverpool confirmed they have rearranged their home match with Swansea for Sunday February 17. This means both clubs now have a double Gameweek 26 on their respective agendas, with Liverpool also playing host to West Brom in the same window, while Michael Laudrup’s men entertain QPR at the Liberty before making their way to Anfield.

The fixture was previously scheduled for Sunday February 24 but has since been cancelled due to Swansea’s Capital One Cup Final duties. With both clubs exiting the FA Cup, however, they are free to face off in the weekend prior to the start of Gameweek 27, which gets underway on Saturday February 23.

Swansea will be first out the blocks. Michael Laudrup’s side square up to QPR on Saturday February 9, while Liverpool’s Fantasy owners must wait two more days before the Reds welcome the Baggies to Anfield on Monday February 11. A further six days will then test our patience before the pair go head-to-head on Merseyside.

Liverpool’s home form is particularly enticing here. They have won five of their last six in front of their own fans, registering five clean sheets and scoring three or more goals on four occasions. While Swansea have scored in just two of their last six on the road, they have registered a clean sheet in four of those matches, however, suggesting a tight match could be on the cards at Anfield. Their home clash with QPR also looks tricky; Harry Redknapp’s side have kept clean sheets against Chelsea, Spurs and City in their last four matches, though the loss of Ryan Nelsen will hit them hard.

Nevertheless, significant investment can be expected from both sides, given the success of both Chelsea and Arsenal in the double Gameweek gone by. Michu and Ben Davies look primed for further investment for the Swans, while Luis Suarez, Steven Gerrard, Daniel Sturridge, Glen Johnson and Jose Enrique all look likely candidates for Brendan Rodgers’ side. As always, we’ll have Scouting the Doubles articles on both, weighing up the main protagonists on offer.

Given that both clubs have a blank Gameweek immediately after, benches will be more crucial than ever. Those who have yet to wildcard may look to the likes of Reading for cut-price squad fillers – the Royals’ home match with Wigan in Gameweek 27 looks a decent shout for coverage, for example.

Both clubs also have strong looking schedules from Gameweek 28 onwards, suggesting many will be keen to hold rather than ship out immediately. Swansea have three home matches in the following four (NEW, ARS, TOT) and also have trips to West Brom, Norwich and Wigan. Liverpool travel to Wigan, Southampton and Villa and also play host to Spurs and West Ham – clearly, investment could be for the long-term, then.

Our Season Ticker has now been updated to reflect today’s news, while Members can check out the Rate My Team section – the double has now been factored into the tool.

Refusing to ruin my team too much for this DGW, team currently is:

    Foster
    Zabaleta | Rafael | Gibbs
    Walcott | Michi | Fellaini | Mata
    RVP | Suarez | Dzeko

    Cerny | Harte | Demel | Guthrie

think I'm just going to do:

    Foster > Mignolet this GW.

    Dzeko > Sturridge next GW.

Depends on if you can manage ~4 DGW players without taking too many hits on the way out and the way in. In terms of fixtures, the Liverpool DGW is pretty enticing. I plan to have 3 Liverpool & 2 Swansea.

Glad the DGW has been confirmed. I already have Gerrard, Michu and Davies so am virtually set for the DGW. I was thinking of using my FT this week and subbing Dzeko to Sturridge. I could then use the following weeks FT to remove one and have 11 players for GW 27. Good plan? Or should I avoid drafting in a 4th and save the FT/use it elsewhere?

P.S. Chris Samba to QPR? Absolute fantasy stud, hope it happens!

    RMWCT :

    Begovic Federici
    Pearce Enrique Davies Bramble O'Brien
    Michu Walcott Bale Fellaini McAnuff
    RVP Suarez Sturridge

    0.4m remaining to spend.

I'll save my 2 FTs and transfer out Suarez and Enrique so that I can field a playing XI for GW 27.
    Thoughts?

He should be back soon...poss even this weekend. O'Neill said he was making good progress but that Tues night would be too soon for him. Most Sunderland fans though would be dissapointed to see Bramble dropped on current form but O'Neill prob favours Cuellar. Mangane is the unknown quantity...

@Paul Scholes - True Tackling Legend

I replied to you on the last page with a plan of sorts. But hopefully you'll be able to get more advice on here from better players than me.

Some advice on getting help here.

    1) Try to help others out when you can. It doesn't always have to be directly about the game, sometimes people are just asking for facts so take the trouble to give them out when you know them

    2) You'll have more luck getting evaluations of plans and options than open-ended "what transfers should I make"

    3) Be nice

    GW 26: Podolski & Baines >> Jose Enrique & Suarez (2FT)
    GW 27: Suarez & Jose Enrique >> Aguero & Clichy (-4)

I personally think that going into that DGW without Suarez could turn out to be a disaster. Especially, given the number of folks that will be handing him the armband. Making it twice as deadly.

Yeeeeah. You switched to Sturridge for a reason. Cheaper. And also going to nick all the points off Suarez now.

I have Vorm, Davies, Michu, Sturridge. Tentative plan to save FT this week, get Gerrard & Johnson/Enrique the next, and then get them both straight out again the week after for a 4 point hit.

Slightly above the overall average, judging by posts last night. It's 12 in La Liga, so that's pretty indicative. People have on average ~7-9 players left to play so not that meaningful.

I think you a placing too much emphasis on Nelsen, fact remains pre Redknapp QPR couldn't defend regardless of Nelsen.

I'm not sure they ever left the basics. I know this is far from conclusive but the last two season they have tailed off badly in terms of clean sheets in the 2nd half of the season, and I'm too far behind my leader to wait any more. Wigan last night was final straw.

Begovic is best option but not at his current price and to be honest i dont like to spend more than 5.0 on GK position keep funds to spend elsewhere around the team...

    Help!!!

Already have Michu, De Guzman and Saurez. Thinking of bringing in Sturridge and LIV or SWA goalkeeper and SWA or LIV defender using WC this week. = 6 DGW’s with no hit . Saving FT GW 26 and then GW27 benching GK and 3 outfield players and using 2 FTs, again no hit.

Is this a good strategy or am I being greedy?

I do realise that an injury or rotation to rest of squad would leave me short GW27 and may be forced to take hit.

Other than that is there anything else i’m overlooking guys?
