Fears over certain new boys’ starting roles prevented us handing places to the likes of Chris Samba and Lewis Holtby in this week’s article. Instead, we tread a path less risky and roll out three overlooked forwards with game time guaranteed and favourable home ties on their respective agendas this weekend.

Loic Remy

QPR’s record buy made an instant impact on his debut, notching within 15 minutes in a 1-1 draw at West Ham in Gameweek 23. Shackled by City’s backline on his first appearance in front of the Loftus Road faithful in midweek, Remy will be looking to return to goalscoring ways as Norwich roll up to Loftus Road tomorrow.

Harry Redknapp’s side are now unbeaten in four and with home draws against Spurs and City, the R’s will be confident of overcoming a Canaries side that have conceded in 10 of the last 11 Gameweeks. Handed the role of the lone striker in a 4-2-3-1 with Adel Taarabt pulling the strings behind him, Remy has played every minute of his two matches so far and offers guaranteed game time and a security of starts that could well see him prosper this weekend and beyond.

The Loftus Road outfit have six enticing looking fixtures in the following seven Gameweeks (swa, sou, SUN, avl, ful, WIG) which certainly bode well for their chances of survival and affords plenty reason for optimism. Priced 6.0 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL) and 8.0 in the Sky Sports game, Remy has the potential to prove a mid-price bargain as Redknapp turns to the former Marseille man to fire his side out the drop zone.

Victor Anichebe

So often a peripheral figure at Goodison, the Nigerian has enjoyed a recent run of games which affords Fantasy managers with an intriguing budget option to consider. Mainly utilised on the right due to a recent injury to Kevin Mirallas, the versatile Anichebe was shifted to the lone forward role last Wednesday as David Moyes dropped the off-form Nikica Jelavic to the bench.

An assist in the 2-1 triumph over West Brom maintained a run of form which has now harvested attacking returns in five of the last seven Gameweeks, with four bonus points also thrown in for good measure across that period. Priced at a mere 4.3 in FPL and 6.8 in the Sky Sports game, and with an ownership under 2% in FPL, Anichebe now welcomes Villa to Merseyside tomorrow. Given the game time, he is clearly capable of producing and looks superb value against an out-of-sorts side that have conceded two or more in all but one of their last seven.

Franco Di Santo

The departure of Arouna Kone to the African Cup of Nations has considerably boosted the Argentine’s appeal of late. Moved into the lone forward role vacated by the Ivorian, Di Santo has flourished – scoring in two of the last three, with a couple of bonus points also accrued.

Roberto Martinez’s side welcome Southampton to the DW tomorrow and, from an attacking perspective at least, are starting to finding their form – Tuesday’s 2-2 draw at Stoke meant Wigan have notched twice in back-to-back matches for the first time since Gameweek 3. With an upturn in offensive threat, the Latics will be confident of seeing off the Saints and Di Santo, at just 5.3 in FPL and 7.5 in the Sky Sports game, could appeal to those looking for a real short-term differential gamble, with Kone’s return from international duties later this month likely to see Di Santo move back out wide.

completely advised a reshuffle to my mates wc, here's what he's come up with in his 98.3 fund:

    Cesar
    Davies Harte Bertrand
    Bale Gerrard Fellaini Taarabt
    Sturridge Giroud RVP(c)

    Subs: Bunn Guthrie Demel Enrique

Defence and bench is quite weak admittedly, but that's all the cash used up

    any obvious tweaks???

He will start. Only reason he didn't start vs Rdg was I believe Rafa had this game in mind for him and didn't want a forlorn Torres and Abramovich staring knives at him for two games.

2 heavy mids is not enough... Only the top 2 forwards beat the top 5 mids. I really think you need Mata, any way possible. Sir Chesney, Snodgrass, Cameron and at a push Remy can be downgraded to turn Snodgrass into Mata.

Trying to find a good 4.1 or less defender. Already have Pearce.
    Looking at:

    a) Clyne,
    b) Shaw (is he rotation threat now?)
    c) Turner
    d) Onuha
    e) Demel
    f) Better suggestion

Depends on the rest of the team really...I supposed I'm inclined towards Clyne as he seems more attacking

        Rest of defence will be:

        Mig - Fed
        Baines - Zab/Evans - Davies - Pearce - ** 5th **

Shaw seems to be a rotation threat. I'd go d) or c), look at which is better for your rotation.

I think the likelihood is quite high, around 80% in my random estimation. The argument is that he's just back from injury, plays an international in there somewhere, and wisdom can cover well enough if points 1 and 2 become an issue. I still think he'll start both

    Hi Lads,

Brought Begovic in at 4.5 & now I feel as though I cannot sell him.

Is anybody else in this situation?

I fancy Cesar but I wouldn't be able to buy Begovic back If I got rid

    Thanks.

I'm not convinced, as some suggest above, that RvP is the only armband choice this week. If you look at production over the last 6-8 weeks I think Walcott is a very solid choice even if you have RvP. And Fellaini is a good call too at home. I'm struggling with the decision tonight.

Is having a decent rank but having a punt on a Capt that isn't RVP so bad?

True that if RVP rips it up it will cost me but at least I have him. It's also true that if I capt him at the same time most others do I will not gain ground? 😕

This is really good advice, but I think the cult of RVP distorts this. A lot of the thinking around giving RVP the armband is about making sure you don't lose out on what others get. In other words, it's not about thinking RVP will score the most. I honestly think Bale will score more than RVP this GW. I could be wrong, but that is what I think. So I need to forget about what might happen if RVP gets a hatful and I miss out.

RVP has been on a sustained run of form. Bale shows glimpses and you're right, he could explode. Walcott is a good option but for me RVP against Fulham is the best bet

My problem exactly. I would like to maintain my (unprecedented) current position, but I'm afraid that's not enough. I want to catch, say, you. RVP (c) puts a lot of pressure on other choices, and I think a little (c) originality won't hurt.

I looked at the top 10 people in TorresMagic's Elite64 league earlier today, and they are different enough in the MF and DF that I think there can still be movement in the top 1k without risky captaincies. But obviously the right risky choice looks genius in hindsight. I'll stick with the obvious for now...

Thanks to all who replied above. Maybe I didn't ask clearly, but I can get in Suarez for Podolski for free this week. Still hold Podolski, then?

Basically: Podolski (STO) or Suarez (mci) this week?

Hold Podolsku in my opinion. Arsenal hae a good record against Stoke and Podolski is playing well. City haven't conceded at home in their last three league games.
