Fears over certain new boys’ starting roles prevented us handing places to the likes of Chris Samba and Lewis Holtby in this week’s article. Instead, we tread a path less risky and roll out three overlooked forwards with game time guaranteed and favourable home ties on their respective agendas this weekend.

Loic Remy

QPR’s record buy made an instant impact on his debut, notching within 15 minutes in a 1-1 draw at West Ham in Gameweek 23. Shackled by City’s backline on his first appearance in front of the Loftus Road faithful in midweek, Remy will be looking to return to goalscoring ways as Norwich roll up to Loftus Road tomorrow.

Harry Redknapp’s side are now unbeaten in four and with home draws against Spurs and City, the R’s will be confident of overcoming a Canaries side that have conceded in 10 of the last 11 Gameweeks. Handed the role of the lone striker in a 4-2-3-1 with Adel Taarabt pulling the strings behind him, Remy has played every minute of his two matches so far and offers guaranteed game time and a security of starts that could well see him prosper this weekend and beyond.

The Loftus Road outfit have six enticing looking fixtures in the following seven Gameweeks (swa, sou, SUN, avl, ful, WIG) which certainly bode well for their chances of survival and affords plenty reason for optimism. Priced 6.0 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL) and 8.0 in the Sky Sports game, Remy has the potential to prove a mid-price bargain as Redknapp turns to the former Marseille man to fire his side out the drop zone.

Victor Anichebe

So often a peripheral figure at Goodison, the Nigerian has enjoyed a recent run of games which affords Fantasy managers with an intriguing budget option to consider. Mainly utilised on the right due to a recent injury to Kevin Mirallas, the versatile Anichebe was shifted to the lone forward role last Wednesday as David Moyes dropped the off-form Nikica Jelavic to the bench.

An assist in the 2-1 triumph over West Brom maintained a run of form which has now harvested attacking returns in five of the last seven Gameweeks, with four bonus points also thrown in for good measure across that period. Priced at a mere 4.3 in FPL and 6.8 in the Sky Sports game, and with an ownership under 2% in FPL, Anichebe now welcomes Villa to Merseyside tomorrow. Given the game time, he is clearly capable of producing and looks superb value against an out-of-sorts side that have conceded two or more in all but one of their last seven.

Franco Di Santo

The departure of Arouna Kone to the African Cup of Nations has considerably boosted the Argentine’s appeal of late. Moved into the lone forward role vacated by the Ivorian, Di Santo has flourished – scoring in two of the last three, with a couple of bonus points also accrued.

Roberto Martinez’s side welcome Southampton to the DW tomorrow and, from an attacking perspective at least, are starting to finding their form – Tuesday’s 2-2 draw at Stoke meant Wigan have notched twice in back-to-back matches for the first time since Gameweek 3. With an upturn in offensive threat, the Latics will be confident of seeing off the Saints and Di Santo, at just 5.3 in FPL and 7.5 in the Sky Sports game, could appeal to those looking for a real short-term differential gamble, with Kone’s return from international duties later this month likely to see Di Santo move back out wide.

      Enrique & Zabaleta.

Enrique is cheaper & actually has a better ppg than Johnson.

Zabaleta & MCI are by far & away the league's most consistent defence.

Bought Dawson in this week for Luiz. Good move? Just need him mainly for weeks 27 and 29.

Otherwise.. next week i plan to do Fletcher and Mata > Suarez and Gerrard to get DGW cover. Thoughts? What about your team?

Stuck on this one. Pick one for my transfers the next two weeks:

1.) Gibbs to Sagna this week. Fellaini to Gerrard next.
2.) Gibbs to Evra this week. Bale to Gerrard next.
3.) save transfer this week. Gibbs to GJ next and see if there is anything else that needs doing.

Meh, nobody knows. He could get injured, and not play. He could get a brace and get a triple rise. Football is unpredictable. Asking whether or not someone will have price rises in 8 days timing is pretty hard to tell. But yes, probably they`ll both go up since theres a DGW.

As we move into the final third of the season, how much stock do you put into whether teams have anything to play for? You know, stoke are safe so they don't care, same for fulham, but qpr are desperate so will fight all the way? Or this just a question about form - eg villa might be desperate but they are just terrible?

He wont be nailed on for quite some time. He`s basically just returned from injury, he need fitness which will take atleast 2-3 weeks, and Henderson has really dont well the last 4-5 games and wont be pushed out easily. On his potential, i know little. I read some respected journalist likened him to Oscar, with better ball control and better finishing. Whether or not thats actually true, we`ll just have to wait and see.

🙂 Really hoping he turns out a better goal threat in the league than Oscar since I really would like to keep Cisse up front long term (4-4-2)

Benitez was the one getting him to Inter in the first place, claiming that Coutinho was the future of Inter. He did well i Espanyol (5 goals in 14 games i think), didnt really play all that much under Stramaccioni. Tbh i really cant tell you, the most ive ever seen him play was on Youtube and i really dont put that much into stuff like that. However, this journalist and Rodgers`s comments are encouraging, indeed. Let`s hope he`s this January`s Sigurdsson 😀

I don't care if Baines scores a hat-trick in his next 2 games, I'm not forking out that kind of cash on him ever again.

I got severely burnt by him when he was in my team for 2 and half months this season, including one week when I went completely against the infamous Leighton Baines rule and (C)ed him against Southampton, only to see my clean sheet taken away from me within 10 minutes.

Not sure what the point of that rant was, but oh well...

Very unlucky on the 2 months, it is the hazard of owning a 7.5 million defender, but if he does get another 15 point haul I bet he does tempt you!

Just start of as a neutral or an admirer and then you will know who to support when they come along, I was a neutral at Darts a couple of years ago and then I saw Simon Whitlock play for the first time and he was instantly my favourite. You don't choose a team to support, the team chooses you! 😉

I recently chose the NY Giants based on the state of NY, their strips, the fact they have Eli Manning as Quarterback and that they are known as The Big Blue Wreckin Crew.

Thoughts on my WC please. I have 5xDGW players and will save a transfer so I can get 2 out without a hit after the DGW. I will possibly do Michu->Bale/Silva and G.Johnson->Clichy/Nasty/Evans after the DGW. Although I like the look of QPR players eg Tarabat, Onuoha and Cesar they have Man U after the DGW when I need to have all non Liverpool, Swansea players in my starting 11.

      Mignolet, Fed
      Baines, G.Johnson, Davies, Clyne, Harte
Walcott, Mata, Michu, Kebe, De Guzman
      RVP, Sturridge, Lambert
