Another Wayne Rooney goal, another Robin Van Persie blank – United’s hard-fought victory at the Cottage added further fuel to the fire for Fantasy managers. Here’s the Stock Check on Saturday’s evening kick-off…

On the Up

Wayne Rooney
Despite being moved to the left midway through the second-half, the former Everton man secured the points with a calm finish. Having grabbed a double last time out against Southampton, Rooney is staking a real case for consideration either as an alternative or partner for Robin Van Persie in our forward lines and looks a real differential with Fantasy Premier League (FPL) ownership under 7%. His consistency of late has been staggering – tonight’s goal made it eight in the last six league starts.

Jonny Evans
His return to the starting lineup made an immediate difference at the Cottage. United had registered clean sheets in each of Evans’ previous two appearances – given they had conceded in the last three without him, his calming influence at the back looks to be a major factor. With the assist for Rooney’s goal, Evans looks set to earn FPL bonus points to cap another assured display.

Going Down

Robin Van Persie
The Dutchman has now registered back-to-back blanks – coinciding with Rooney’s return to the starting XI. The Dutchman had produced in each of his previous ten and while there’s no doubting his consistency over the season, many are now contemplating a switch as mini-leagues start to heat up with the quest for differentials becoming a key factor. With a favourable run of fixtures ahead, Van Persie’s owners will be confident of a return to form but Rooney’s kinder 11.8 FPL price tag liberates budget to be utilised elsewhere.

Antonio Valencia
Handed a start on the right in a 4-4-2, the former Wigan man disappointed yet again and was hauled off on 65 minutes. It’s a single assist in 11 appearances now for Valencia and with Danny Welbeck and Shinji Kagawa pushing for game time, he could well return to the periphery once more. Fantasy managers have been deprived of an assured midfield asset in the United squad all season: there is little sign of that situation changing.

Brede Hangeland
Owned by more than 6% of the Fantasy Premier League player base, Hangeland has been a major disappointment so far this season: yet again he’s without a goal and, with just three clean sheets, his return have failed to live up to a pre-season billing which hailed him as a potential bargain. Tonight the Norwegian suffered his latest setback, withdrawn at half-time with a knock, rumoured to be an Achilles problem, which may now make him a doubt for Fulham’s next outing at Norwich.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

are you watching motd too? Feel sorry from Adkins. Also he can't speak English! I'm not saying he can;t learn but it does seem odd to hire a coach mid-season who can't speak directly to most of the players?

In the last game one of the Southampton players said the stuff he got across at half time and he seemed to manage to get some good advice through, so whatever method he uses was okay.

So was there any official word on Demel in the end? I read someone talking about an unspecified injury picked up in training, but no source. He's had a few horrendous games, if he's fallen out of favour that'll mess up many a post GW team sheet.

50 points this gw with Suarez and Bale left to play.

    Plan for next gw.

Sagna to Harte and Lambert to Sturridge

    Then, straight after that:

Mariappa to Nasta and Sturridge to Anichebe?

i like your thinking though , by getting a good defender not having the doub;e makes the following week much easier to manage , going be a nightmare trying field 11

dont forget that Demil is already looking dodgy now , they seem to concede less goals when he not in the team

I have problems with dgw defs... if it all depends on who you can play the next gw. I would rather have Evans if that leaves you with a decent playing team.

Exactly, I'm glad you brought that point up.. with Evans I can field 11 for sure without a hit, since I'm not sure if Demel will be back in the team by then...

well if you dont want to take a hit to correct that then stick with evans then zep, but you could score enough with GJ that it doesnt matter......all a risk either way really, but your logic is faultless

At least with GJ its more fun , you have six days after the first game , where you not waiting with less double players than everyone else
I suspect we all going worry about GW27 when it happens .

Does it really matter if demel dosent play , he probably only get one point anyway. Not even worth a hit to replace , just go with 10

    Plan for GW 26:

    2FT

    RVP -> Suarez
    Pog -> Sturridge.

Have a WC saved up for GW30, thinking Aguero Suarez + ??? will surpass RVP's minutes and points until then. If not then I'll just buy him back.

    Thoughts? Cheers

    evening lads 2 questions

    1) can someone link me to the bap chap?

    2) Am beginning to contemplate what wad once unthinkable. Namely selling Michu. Will obviously keep him for DGW, but a post DGW Michu to Sissoko transfer would allow me to have RvP, Suarez and Aguero up top and 1 million in the bank to upgrade Guthrie or maybe get Evans in. It wouls alos allow for GJ for DGW. This could also be accomplished with Fellaini out as opposed to Michu. Thoughts lads.

I would sell Michu ahead of Fella despite the bad fixtures for Michu. Fellaini simply takes more chances inside the box, plays for a better team and is cheaper. But I could be wrong

The main concern I have is Michu's ownership within my ML. Plus it will cost a heck of a lot less to get Fellaini back then it would Michu. I can;t help but think that once the final is done and Swans focus returns to league Michu will be the man again

I really think Mark or Granville need to start linking the BAP Chaps predictions in the tweets, down the middle of the home page. Maybe even give him an article of his own. What happened to the predictions article that FFS used to do themselves?

        Hi.
Basically I don't think the predictions add anything worth wasting an article on, every article/widget/feature/tab on here can in some way help you get more points in the future, having some bonus predictions post-deadline is no help at all, just fills some time while people speculate. I think enough people know what page they are on or have bookmarked them if anyone asks.

Page 3 of this or he last article I forget.

This was last chance saloon week for Fellaini and he went and scored twice, Michu is 0.1 away from costing a cool million to bring back in if I sell him. Which mistake would be easier to fix? I'm not sure Michu has finished his goalscoring yet with Graham gone now.
