A busy Friday edging closer to its conclusion with the arrival of our late-evening regular. As always, we roll out a trio of overlooked contenders for your consideration, with a pony-tailed protagonist braced for a trip to the midlands taking centre-stage.

Andy Carroll

Unwanted at Liverpool, loaned out to West Ham, sidelined for months with a knee injury – that pretty much sums up the forward’s season so far. Returning to the Hammers’ starting XI for the first time since Gameweek 14 last weekend, Carroll hit the headlines for all the right reasons, however, with a goal and maximum Fantasy Premier League (FPL) bonus points proving the difference against Swansea.

As Sam Allardyce’s side prepare for a schedule that sees them square up to Spurs, United and Chelsea in the next five, in addition to a trip to Stoke, tomorrow’s trip to out-of-sorts Villa is more crucial than ever. As Marouane Fellaini demonstrated for Everton last weekend, Paul Lambert’s side are far from comfortable against a dominant aerial presence in the box – Allardyce will have his wide men tasked with firing crosses aplenty into the area as Carroll look to get the better of Ron Vlaar and co, with Kevin Nolan primed for any knock-downs. Coming in at 8.2 in FPL and 8.6 in the Sky Sports game, he’s far from cut-price but with ownership of less than 1%, Carroll could be a real weekend differential against a side that has conceded at least twice in all but one of the last eight Gameweeks.

Jon Walters

Tony Pulis will be hoping the Republic of Ireland international can rediscover his goal touch as Reading roll up to the Britannia this weekend. Stoke’s home form, so often the foundation of their Premier League success, has been far from impressive of late – the Potters have won just two of the last six in front of their own fans but intriguingly, both those wins have come about thanks to crucial strikes from Walters.

A goal in the 2-1 win over Newcastle in Gameweek 14, in addition to a brace in the 3-1 triumph over Liverpool five matches later, highlights the midfielder’s potential ahead of a clash with a Royals side that have conceded in every away match this term. So far, Walters has grabbed five goals and three assists and has racked up 94 FPL points; second only to Asmir Begovic for Pulis’ side.

Coming in at 6.4 in FPL and 7.9 in the Sky Sports game, with an ownership currently sitting at 6%, Walters has a decent upcoming run of fixtures on the horizon which could bolster his appeal and suggests he’s worth holding onto beyond this weekend, with a trip to Fulham and home clashes with West Ham and West Brom just around the corner.

Alfred N’Diaye

While Newcastle’s Moussa Sissoko has stolen the goalscoring headlines so far, another new north east acquisition has been backed to find the net. N’Diaye chipped in with an assist on his first start for Sunderland and also came close to notching against Reading last time out – his physical presence and energetic displays looks crucial to the Black Cats’ cause this weekend as Arsenal roll up to the Stadium of Light.

With three wins in their last five at home, including a victory over City, O’Neill’s men have proven a different prospect altogether on Wearside. While the likes of Steven Fletcher and Adam Johnson are the men most likely, N’Diaye – priced at just 4.5 in FPL and 5.1 in the Sky Sports game – has barged his way into the Sunderland starting XI since arriving last month and could be a real cut-price contender to consider, with a strong upcoming schedule to follow (wba, FUL, qpr, NOR) to follow directly after.

I've got 2 options to go with rvp upfront
    A) giroud and Sturbridge
    B) Suarez and any striker under 5.3

    Which one????

It depends if you want to consider GW 29 as well and Arsenal's probable blank. (If you think they'll go through in the FA Cup)

I should expand on that. Pog was basically built for a game like Stoke away. I think he will cause them all sorts of problems, but not in a goal threat way.

          Go for Harte.

The thing is he is likely to start both in my opinion especially with him being cup tied.

I just see it as a major differential, not many people own him (people hesitant to bring him in after flag) and more and more people are being turned off captaining him.

Also the reaction of people will be gold if he goes mental this gw and they went against him.

    RVP ROTATION WARNING

    http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/manchester-united-alex-ferguson-slams-1594385

"The team on Sunday will not be the team that plays on Wednesday in Madrid," he confirmed.

“With the squad of players I’ve got, I trust them. They’re all internationals. They’re all good players and there’s not one reason I can’t play them.

think he might give likes of Rooney and Smalling a break coming off 90mins and Hernandez back from a flight, may not even make the bench. Can't see this leading to no RVP

    Non liverpool discussion here!!!

Come the end of GW26, I am looking at a forward line of either Rooney (QPR a, Norwich h, WHU a, Reading h and Sunderland a) or Aguero (Che h, Villa a, Wigan h, eve a, Newcastle h) over the next 5 weeks to sit alongside RVP.

A number of factors I am considering. No Citeh coverage though can get Silva with tinkering, United players prone to rotation, surely less of an issue at Citeh, whom do you make captain if you choose Rooney. Last factor, those United look classy.

    What direction would you take?

Im doubling up on United ie.e Rooney + RVP. City cover i have not had all season and rightly so Front shares points too much. Also rotation is ridiculous.

Feel the rotation issue at Citeh and Aguero will be lessened Due to Ballotelli's departure and possibly a greater issue at OT especially with Champions League. A real ponderer tis this

If you had £1.0m in the bank and 1 Free Transfer with this sorry lot, what would you do?

    Szczesny - Boruc

    Davies - G Johnson - Cameron - Demel - Harte

    Kebe - Bale - Walcott - Pienaar - Snodgrass

    Suarez - RVP - Remy

Yeah that's the thing. Well off affording Sturridge. Pienaar to De Guzman/Hernandez is also quite risky considering the possibility of a 4 pt hit next week and Bale to Gerrard is even crazier

GW 27 & 29. Who would you rather own?

    Kebe - WIG(H) & AVL(H) or

    Sissoko - SOT(H) & STO(H)

Bare in mind, Kebe will give me an extra 1.5m to spend elsewhere.

    Pick an option POst DGW:

    A) Baines, Sturridge,

    or

    B) Cuellar, Suarez,

Both options will accommodate Rooney and RVP at the front.

Sagna and Fellaini out for Gerrard and Wilson.

    Worth it?

Wilson is lacking match fitness so if he doesn't play this week (not an issue), will he play on 23rd?
Need to know for sure that he will play GW27 so that I can field 11. Need a defender for 4.2 otherwise.
