With Gareth Bale and Michu tearing up defences and delivering big returns from Saturday’s matches, there’s much anticipation ahead of Sunday’s programme. While Aston Villa’s clash with West Ham seems likely to be an edgy battle of attrition, the Old Trafford clash between United and Everton looks to have a lot going for it. Sir Alex Ferguson’s teamsheet will be of keen interest in that one, while the Toffees will be looking to repeat last season’s thrilling 4-4 draw and perhaps keep the title race interesting.

The early team news is in and sees Paul Lambert make three changes to the Villa XI, with Nathan Baker, Fabian Delph and Jordan Bowery replacing Joe Bennett, Karim El Ahmadi and Gabby Agbonlahor.

For the Hammers, Joe Cole and Emanuel Pogatetz come in for Matt Jarvis and Ricardo Vaz Te; Guy Demel is on the bench.

    I absolutely have no idea why RVP sellers are crying.
    he score 1 goal every game (almost) and you would have expected him to score anyway, it is not like the 3pts. assist make a massive difference

    Does anyone else agree United bought the league this year. Hear me out for a second. He is by far their most influential player. He has won them many matches in the league this year. United probably knew he was going to go to City or another big club so they bought him to prevent anyone else from having him and have more or less won the league because of him. So does that mean United have bought the league this year?

      Team game. Not a one man show. Been times when RVP has not scored and United have still got the result. And the others have just not been competent enough this season- Probably the biggest reason for United's dominance

      Utter BS from a typical "anyone but United". No they didn't buy the league. They bought a very good player who is a proven goal scorer and reaching his prime, as big clubs tend to do. City have Dzeko, Aguero and Tevez, 3 excellent strikers who are supplied by Silva and Yaya Toure. Van Persie isn't the key to the league, the key is getting the best out of your biggest players. United have done it with RVP. City haven't done it. Neither have Chelsea (apart from Mata, he's been phenomenal.)

      United have spent £11m average per season (net spend) since the Glazers took over.

      City have spent £55m average per season (net spend) since Mansour took over.

        By the way, the difference between the teams (despite the gulf in spending power) is

        a) United's players are not just there for the money (e.g. RVP would have earned more by going to City)
