FFS Members Cup III – First Round Results

Despite scoring 100 points or more, as many as 12 managers bit the dust in the First Round of the FFS Members Cup. The highest scoring losing entrant was Gustad, who was edged out 108-107 by ff addict. Overall, the highest scoring manager in Round 1 was The Tinkerman, who registered 124 points – that earned him 398th spot in the Gameweek 26 standings.

Mark and Granville both made early exits, though. Mark was knocked out 93-84 by Shiffo, while Granville was sent packing 92-79 by AR Diab – we’ll be keeping an eye on that pair’s progress over the course of the campaign. Behind the scenes, we’re sorting out the draw for the Second Round right now – that should be with you tomorrow:

    Would anyone care to look at my team and make a suggestion? I've already done Gerrard to Sissoko for my free transfer and can field up to 10 this week. Thinking of Enrique to Evans for a hit and playing 4-4-2, although ALF will probably only get 1 point.

            ManU away to QPR is a tough game. A clean sheet will be tough.

            Your asking him to justify your decision, which is bad advice.

            Wait a week and then get JEvans. Also save that extra transfer for GW29.

      Just make one change and save a transfer. Sturridge to Fletcher isn't bad, although I don't like Fletcher. Berbatov is marginally better for the money or go really cheap on Pog or ALF and use the funds another week to upgrade a defender or two. Demel needs to go for example - Azpi or Evans would be good replacements.

    This would be using my FT for Gerrard > Sissoko.

    I know, it's a shocking defence for the week and could easily be 9 players, but I question a hit for either Collins or Demel being that I can't see an obvious CS in the fixtures and potential blank in GW29 makes Evans a dodgy transfer for a hit. What do you think?

    Another alternative, for a hit, would be Studge > Lambert (but will want Studge back)...

      Don't sell any players you want back. Waste of a transfer, especially with GW29 blanks coming up.

      My mantra is if you can field 10 this week then stick, when you start dropping below 10 a -4 hit is not the worst idea, but keep GW29 in mind if you do it.

    Just catching up on the Pistorius case...what a jumbled mess of an investigation. Police didn't wear any protective covering while going through the scene, thus contaminating it, and now they're not sure if the substance they found was testosterone (which is probably wasn't, how thick do you have to be?) etc. They're giving Pist some ground to stand on.

        CNN just broke out that forensics haven't concretely decided on if it's straight up injectable testosterone or another hardcore compound like unto it. Furthermore, he could be taking D-Aspartic Acid, Fenugreek, Indole-3-carbinol, gink, or a combination of those products which have proved to raise testosterone levels in SOME clinical trials, but which need further research to study their test boosting effects. And all of the products I mentioned are LEGAL and I personally take when on a natty cycle. Point is, if they can't find some straight up gnarly test booster or hardcore PGH they don't have a shred of case against him in the mood/behavioral altering argument. Nor is anything in powder form effective in raising test levels as much of it has absolutely zero half life in your gut....injection is the only way to go if you're going down this path.           I want to mention that, for the record, I think most "natty" (natural herbal test boosting) cycles are complete and utter shit. At least for me, but that's maybe because I'm a spry 26 year old that already has good test levels so something benign like a natty stuff won't do much for me...just in case anyone really wants to know more about this subject lol

          Looking at the 2 fixtures he's been benched in the past few months - liv and mnu - its tough away games only where Long as the lone frontman is favoured. He'll probably start all bar mci and possibly ARS/MNU until the end now IMO.

            I agree to an extent, that seems to be the pattern. But obviously it's a risk. He will 100% play against Sunderland though that's for sure. Just be aware that any injuries will leave you a man down next week despite the fact it allows you to play Puncheon for a favourable fixture.

              Giroud could be one week punt, and then go back to Studge. And you couldn't afford Studge -> Cisse, so you would have to do some other transfer also. But I think Cisse can be good shout for next few weeks.

    ManUnited are an oddity in English football as they have a revenue stream that is large enough to be able to fight the short term billionaire owners of City and Chelsea etc. Arsenal have taken the decision to attempt to match them by building a massive stadium in prime location London and build an international fanbase based on many season in the biggest advertisement of the UCL. (And signing Park Ji Yung for no apparent reason) Arsenal are not there yet and to start spending big now would ruin everything as the interest rates on the debt would cripple us.

    Now would everyone get of Arsenals back and start having a go at your own clubs (City and Chelsea) for failing to see a long term plan for your club. Once your owners have left you will be left with little. In fairness City are doing a lot to increase the infrastructure of their club, but Chelsea appear to have done nothing under Roman than spend big on older players.

      Well there are a few examples where they have spent big on younger players...Mata, Lukaku, Azpilicueta, Cahill, Hazard, Oscar, Luiz, Mikel etc

          I do think that is a good idea and the structure may not be in place like it is at Arsenal, therefore the situation looks unhealthy. However, I really don't know enough about these things. All I was saying was that there is a pretty decent young team there for the future/next 10 years.

      Do you really need to get rid of him? Liverpool have a really good run till the end IMO...
      If you need to kick him out you can downgrade him and get some Taraabt or Sissoko and upgrade Anichebe if you feel like doing it.
      If you are looking for gambling and a differential get Silva in, but it's too risky for me...

          Yeah, as there are 3 people on equal points, you are sorted by GD. It's only H2H if it's a 2-way tiebreaker. It's to do with the fact that the only way it's possible is if there is some kind of circular thingo with you beat someone who beats the next person who beat you...

      Gerrard is the obvious one .. probably depends on what you're doing next week as to who you go for instead. If Ben Arfa is confirmed fit, I'd have him right in the mix... Fellaini is a decent option for a couple of weeks if it's for free or you could go for a cheapy if you're looking for an upgrade elsewhere next week.
