One of the lowest scoring Gameweeks in living memory will grind to unceremonious halt this evening, as we pop over to Upton Park under lights to witness Tottenham’s visit to West Ham. Fantasy managers will, of course, be watching, waiting and hoping on further returns from Gareth Bale – a player who has looked almost possessed in recent weeks. Can Big Sam’s outfit stop the Welsh express in its tracks or will Bale save the Gameweek for some?

Our Dugout Discussion chatroom opens up to grab the real-time expression of joy and frustration, with this article capturing your comments as the match unfolds.

The team news from the Boleyn Ground is significant for many – Guy Demel earns an unlikely recall to the West Ham lineup, handing plenty of Fantasy managers an unlikely full starting XI for the Gameweek. Demel returns along with James Collins to the Hammers back four, as Emmanuel Pogatetez and James Tomkins make way. Mark Noble is missing from the midfield with an arm injury, so Gary O’Neil earns a start, while Matt Jarvis replaces Matt Taylor. As for the visitors, Andre Villas-Boas makes one change from the victory over Newcastle, with Jan Vertonghen drafted in for Kyle Naughton at left-back; Lewis Holtby keeps his start, presumably playing off striker Emmanuel Adebayor.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

"LOL They paid £10 million for that gimp! Only Sp*rs could waste that kind of money. Maybe they should take Wenger's perspective on left backs and grow their own like Gibbs, Cole, Traore. Or purchase young bargains like Silvinho, Clichy for peanuts. But probably not, more money than sense that club.

The fact is that £3 million would be a fair price. Spurs had their pants pulled down when they bought him and he's been as big a flop as it's possible to be.

Yep, he's not in Messi/Ronaldo class but he's in the group behind.

Tough to compare players in different positions but I'd say he's No.3 atm.

      Best in the PL.

no he has form but does he have class. form is temporary, class is permanent. we need a longer time frame before he can be hailed as the World's best. But he has the potential.

There are plenty of great players in the world who have been operating at the level Bale is at now for seasons and seasons, and similarly there are randomly weak players who hit crazy form tops.

I really rate Gareth Bale but it's so premature to go and say he's that good, and if you're only looking at say the last two weeks of football I think it's a pointless discussion and excuse myself for this post.

If you had bet on Spurs tonight. When Bale scored tonight you should bet on a West Ham win and draw whilst the odds are very favourable. Get it right and you will be in a position where you cant lose any money but will win big if Spurs win after 90.

Say you've got an accy and 5 teams have already won, and you just need Spurs to win.

Either bet on Spurs to draw and lose, or go on Betfair and lay Spurs. You guarantee yourself a (slightly smaller) profit.

I had an accumulator from this weekend's PL games, 6 teams @ 68/1.

Before kick-off laid off my bet by betting on West Ham/Draw double chance for a small-ish amount so that I still won something if Spurs didn't win.

      If it's win or lose.

Once you have a good chance of winning the odds change and you can bet against yourself, so covering the other outcome.

If you can bet both sides after the odds have swung you have insurance in case your first bet has some massive fail at the end. You end up winning a something from the bet you layed off.
