Fantasy managers were handed a heads-up of a new double Gameweek afternoon after Arsenal’s home match with Everton, originally scheduled for Gameweek 29, was moved to Tuesday April 16, or Gameweek 33 to you and I.

The fixture change is due to Everton’s FA Cup progress at the expense of Oldham last night. The Toffees are now set to face Wigan in the Sixth Round a week on Saturday and with Arsenal facing Bayern Munich in the Champions League the following midweek, there was no room for manoeuvre within Gameweek 29.

While the rescheduled date means Arsenal definitely have a double, it’s not quite as straightforward for the Toffees. Everton have confirmed that if they beat Wigan in the cup, their Gameweek 33 tie hosting QPR will be postponed, as the semi-finals take place over that weekend. With the Arsenal game now set for the midweek slot in Gameweek 33 (it will be shifted to Wednesday April 17 if Everton win), this would mean a double Gameweek for the Gunners (NOR, EVE), a single for Everton (ars) and a blank for QPR.

Luckily, we only have until next weekend before the Everton-Wigan FA Cup clash but in the meantime, the double for Arsenal looks hugely favourable. Theo Walcott and Santi Cazorla will already be earmarked as potential captains – Walcott has produced three sets of double figures at the Emirates to Cazorla’s two and is likely to get the nod by many, despite being 10 points behind the Spaniard in the FPL standings. Having produced 30 points between them in Arsenal’s recent double Gameweek 23, their potential for points is obvious.

    How does my team look for this week:

    Vorm (NEW)
    Wilson (WHU) – Zabaleta (avl) – Baines (RDG)
    Bale (ARS) – Michu (NEW) – Sissoko (swa) – Punchy (QPR) – Walcott (tot)
    Lambo (QPR) – Studge (wig)
    bench – fedders RVP Davies Harte
    who to captain?

    was thinkin bale or walcott but looking at watchlist mayb studge…

    Thinking ahead to double gwk:

    Eventually giroud in for Studge and wilshere for michu (so I can afford)?

    Fellaini > Stevie G

    Sensible or mental? Knowing Moyes we aren't likely to get any clearer on the Fellaini situation before the deadline rolls around.

      Didn't his assistant say that Fellaini should be fine?

      Also, its Reading at home, if you take him out, you could be risking transferring out a double figure score.

      If fellaini starts for that fixture he could get a big score. And I think he has a good chance of starting - he wasn't subbed off with the knock, it just looks like Moyes playing safe by not throwing him in again 3 days later in a cup match.

      Too much risk and not enough upside IMO.

      Would certainly be reassuring if he remains a doubt up until the last minute. Remember though sometimes the Everton lineup gets released early...well I think Demi has known it a few times.

      Interesting that you mention gerrard as I'm considering him with all these blanks. Might do Walcott > Gerrard

      Unless your a United fan your opinion on the likely team is worthless....even then, its still 99% worthless because Fergie is a crafty old fox. Ive got a feeling Fergie will play Evans and Ferdinand again against Real so Vidic might be a starter alongside Smalling, but that could of course change if Jones isnt fit in time, Evans would likely take his man marking role for Ronny. Basically dont even try and guess

    Right I think I've got it.

    Giroud out this week. for someone with decent fixtures. So far it's between Suarez(already have Sturridge) Cisse (already have Sissoko) or Lukaku (who can bench sit till next week).

    I considered Lambert but have decided against him, before you offer him as an alternative.

    So which of those three gentlemen?

    Here's my team but thinking of an 8ph this week.

    Fed/Bego
    Obrien, Zab, Marriapa, Martin R, Bertrand
    Bale, Walcott, Guthrie, Mata, Michu
    RVP, Suarez, Giroud

    Options:
    1. Do nothing and save the transfer
    2. Giroud----> Lambert
    3. Giroud + Mata + Guthrie----> Lambert + Lampard + Sissoko
    4. RVP + Giroud + Guthrie----> Rooney + Lambert + Sissoko

    Fed Bego
    Azpil Collins Davies Hill Demel
    Mata Bale Wally Michu Sissoko
    RVP Studge Lamb
    1 FT, £1.3 in bank

    Any other transfers jump out? Plan to shift Collins/Demel in coming weeks and bring Evans in post-29...

    So i have 6 non players for gw29...baines, giroud, walcott, fellaini, maloney, rvp

    Team for gw28:
    ddg (bunn)
    baines davies cueller (onouha harte)
    michu fellaini bale wally (maloney)
    rvp sturridge giroud

    have 1FT and 2.3m. Assuming city game goes ahead,
    A: giroud + cueller >> augero + wilson (have EXACT cash for this so have to do it today)
    B: dont know what else to do...rvp + maloney >> augero + hazard

    thoughts?
