FFS Members Cup III – Second Round Results

We’re down to the final 128 teams in this year’s instalment of the Members Cup as Gameweek 27 saw some big community names fall by the wayside including “Doosra”, “Back Back Ballack”s “dribbler” and “Gaz Downright”, among others.

“Evs”, now up to 20th spot in the overall rankings, navigated passed “CHUBBY” by a convincing 60 vs 41 scoreline but fellow big hitter, Jonah, slipped out of the tournament: despite being tenth in the overall FPL standings, he made way as “Dilley” put pay to his campaign by a narrow three point margin (42 vs 39).

Previous Cup winner, “Fuzzy Dunlop” is going strong thanks to a 40 vs 32 win over “DBREADY” but fellow Hall of Famer, “Kippax Kikkers”, departs the tournament, turned over by “BlzBob” in a close 38 vs 34 encounter.

As for the contributors, Paul continues to fly the flag – he made it through to Round Three thanks to a 46 vs 37 victory over Rossaldinho, as Big Dunc went out to “mcginley50”.

The draw for the next round will be published tomorrow afternoon.

      highly unlikely would it be rearranged to midweek.

      sky are covering it, and they won't play it on a tuesday or wednesday because they've got champions league coverage.

      i suppose they have the option of thursday night, but i can't see that happening.

    Captaincy really is a tough one this week isn't it?

    I can't remember there being so many legitimate options.

    And that is also probably down to the fact that barely anybody is considering RVP(c) for a home match (which seems like madness in a way but it's justified)

    So with RVP ruled out you have so many options you might not have looked at.

    Bale - form, fixture with a history of goals
    Walcott - not a great deal of form but same reason = fixture
    Mata - home, rested, Chelsea strong favourites
    Michu - form, home, gets most of his goals at home
    Suarez - form, nice fixture, scored 2 against Wigan earlier on
    Aguero - nice fixture, City strong favourites
    Fellaini - ideal fixture, Everton strong favourites
    Lambert - nice fixture, great form

    Then not to mention a few outsider bets: Rooney, Baines, Cazorla, Hazard, Sturridge, not to mention a cheeky RVP(c) 😀

    Safe to say this week will deliver a lot of points!

    I have looked over my captains picks so far this season and it worries me slightly.

    I have selected the correct captain 33% of the time, is this good?

    I have put the armband on RVP 70% of the time, which has been the correct choice only 35%

    In total captains picks have cost me 140 points, over the season that is only 5.18 points per game however would take my ranking to 3rd.

    Has anyone else looked into thier captain pick?

    Pogrebnyak could have come in REAL handy at home against Villa in GW29. He had two games all season that had to play in. Ge got -2 in the first and suspended for the second. Epic fail.
